Hey guys,
Playing around with this stuff today for the first time.
I unlocked the bootloader, got a custom ROM on there and everything, but now i can't seem to install any other ROMs without going to S-OFF which i don't feel confident in doing yet.
So i want to restore my phone back to the stock telstra ROM, but i'm having trouble doing it.
I relocked the bootloader and ran the RUU (RUU_HOLIDAY_ICS_35_S_Telstra_WWE_3.25.841.4_Radio_3.02.4740.09_34.20.701040.19_release_246698_signed)
But the RUU only allows me to update and if i choose that it just fails completely.
I'm worried i've gotten my phone stuck on this custom rom i don't want.
what do i do?
So I'm new to the rooting and ROM game. Its fun and I enjoy doing it. When I got my HTC One from Google, I immediately rooted it and flashed a new recovery. My next step in the learning process is learning how to unroot and go back to stock. For example if I need to send it in for RMA. What does this process entail and how do I do it???
Relocking the bootloader I can do, I think, its the "unflashing" recovery and reverting to stock that I'm in need of assistance on.
Thanks!
can anyone help with this as im trying to find the same thing
You can return to stock using S-OFF, flashing a signed RUU and turning the security flag back on.http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2158151

Hello, I have a Sprint HTC one.
Recently I rooted my phone and realized It didn't do much for me. I decided to unroot then I saw Cyanogen Mod. I flashed it and it removed all my backups in TWRP. I recently had S-OFF so I could flash a previous version of stock and just update from their. So I went into my bootloader, re-locked it and went into fastboot. There I used my RUU. It said there wasn't enough charge so I said okay and let it charge over night. Next day at 100% I am still getting that message. All I want to do now is go back to stock. Do you know any other ways or a fix for this.
Any help is strongly appreciated.
Thanks,
Fantah
Hi Folks,
Firstly, I genuinely apologise for having to post about unrooting but Im genuinely confused on the route I need to take.
I am currently rooted with S-ON running the Revolution custom rom (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2183023). Im wanting to take it back to 'normal' and unrooted as I don't feel I need it rooted as Im not noticing any gain from it.
I have TWRP Recovery installed too and I took a backup via TWRP before flashing the custom ROM - my carrier is 3/Hutchinson 3G
From looking about there are several ways to go with unrooting but I just really need clarification on the method which is most suitable for my situation.
Kind Regards
Sam
Hey all,
I'm trying to unroot my Sprint HTC one. It's currently running software version 5.03.651.3 and android version 4.4.2. I was planning to flash a rom on it, but I ended up just putting a custom recovery. Now I want to unroot, so I relocked the bootloader, and flooded qbking77's video, however it wasn't able to go though. Any ideas on how to unroot this phone? Do I need to unlock the bootloader, and flash the stock recovery? or is there something i'm missing.
Thanks
You didn't say exactly what the issue was, but I wrote a guide a while back that walks through the steps to RUU. Feel free to follow it and follow up here or in that thread with issues.
