RELAX!!!
Now I think they're releasing this update just to mess with us. Go to About Phone and check for updates. I haven't installed it yet, but most likely a patch for Heartbleed, or something.
Enjoy? :silly:

Unlocked bootloader patch as well as a heartbleed fix is my guess.....forgot to charge before bed last night and I only have 43% battery....Once I'm charged, I'll flash back to stock and I'll upload this new OTA for us all. Give me about 3 hours......luckily it's a rainy day and I don't have crap to do.

Probably just trying to prevent others from unlocking; like what the last Verizon JB OTA did to the XT926.
BUT
There's speculation on the RHD forums that the kernel used in the XT926 OTA will able to be used in unlocking the bootloader. Only time will tell, but that's good news at any rate.
now at 82% charge....
In any case i think this are good news, maybe the kitkat update its not that far away... update installed

i noticed that my phone cant stop rebooting with this update. It asks me to install untrusted zip and i say yes but it reboots again. maybe its the CWM recovery?

Don't jump the gun just yet....it might only need that annoying install-recovery.sh removed/renamed.
And this nandroid needs to hurry up....and I wonder if we're going to have a new kernel...

I will, but it's going to take a bit longer than I planned on. Just got a call and I gotta run some errands for work. Not sure when I'll be done. Probably 3 to 5 hours. Pisses me off. I was looking forward to an update, even if it is only for AT&T JB.
That's not what I expected from ATT but at least, they dont forget our update. Hope that kitkat will come soon.
So.

The OTA is attached below. About to flash it.
EDIT3:
Using the Settings>About Phone way, I updated it with Philz CWM installed and it's working just fine. Looks like it contains the heartbleed fix. a modem update, camera/various lib updates....Not sure why it's labeled Blur_Version.98.4.20.MB886.ATT.en.US.zip when it installs 98.5.38...though I'd have preferred a 4.20 version
EDIT4:
Forgot to mention. You HAVE to be running the latest stock AT&T firmware to install or even flash this. It won't work for any other Atrix HD JB rom, stock or custom.

Whatever the newest one is that's available to download for moto-msm8960 common because that's what I flashed to get root and rip the OTA (I'm lazy dammit). It's over here at the RAZR HD threads.

That's kind of what I was thinking, but me using Philz to take the OTA lets me know that it does work as well as knowing that others shouldn't have a difficult time with it. Besides, if it did go bad I had a terminal open with all the fastboot commands ready to go...I was prepared for a soft brick.

You MUST be completely stock on 5.5.886, if you're not go here to do so: R3L3AS3DRoot and 43V3R root for the BIONIC v2
After that apply the FOR3V3R root and proceed with the following:
Flash stock recovery of full Blur_Version.5.5.886-5.7.893.XT875.Verizon.en.US
how to get into stock recovery, some people were having issues or trying to flash via cwm
Now for the WEBTOP flash this via CWM
[MOD] Webtop Via HDMI Without a Dock
You will now be on the latest update and have root and webtop

EDIT: Will post the full 5.7.893 when I get home
So I did the old method of forever root and did the update to. 893 with no hassle. So I can just boot inti recovery and flash the latest zip with no problem? Sorry for the noob question but I've been at work for damn near 12 hours.
so of we have already forever rooted and done 5.5 and 5.6, we can just flash the 5.7 file im assuming. looks like same order just with a fewdays between flashes?

Just a little confused by the build numbers. I'm on my backup with system version "5.6.893.XT875.Verizon.en.US" -
Everything I've done has been through cheesecake. You have this one : "Blur_Version.5.5.893mr1.XT875.Verizon.en.US" - and that 'mr1' is throwing me off. Is this necessary for me to flash first before the 5.7?
Thanks. Good write up.

I renamed the files according to what they are "supposed" to upgrade your system to, that way there isn't a lot of confusion. I hope I didn't confuse anyone more lol

Gotcha. So with the build number I listed above, do the MR1 first, then the last one? Correct?
I also wanted to mention that cheesecake is dead today. I found 5.7 earlier this morning by just clicking system update from about phone, but I didn't download it because I'm on Th3ory. Now I can't find it and it makes me mad! Lol.
Ok.. I had my bionic rooted with Pete's.. after I flashed R3blurred v2.. then the packs. Somebody told me that I was still on .886 so.. my question is : do I have to do all this steps if I want to install the OTA updates? I know I have to flash back the stock rom(good thing I did a back up)

I already had 5.6.893, so I installed 5.7.893 on top of it - I forgot I had frozen 15 apps in TiBu (after upgrading to 5.6.893) - and thus far, it seems to have taken - the version number in about phone is definitely 5.7.893....

Im on stock rooted 886 with forever root. When I go to settings and about phone it says theres an update available 5.7.893 if I decide to go through and install it will I lose root?
This is based on the newest bell update (to 2.3.6) though this rom has been reported with "minimal" tweaking(copying a compatible libmoto_ril.so and your original build.prop is nothing for a fix) by users of models other than the xt860. As the topic says it's been rooted, deodexed, zipaliged, optimized w/xUltiimate both apps and framework OFC. I've flashed this zip to /system(non-safestrap) and /preinstall (safestrap) and had only a minor hiccup of having the setup launch twice on me once, I rebooted and wiped and the problem was gone. I left everything in the rom for complete stock, you could return the phone if you unrooted and removed the custom recovery minus the voice search which I replaced with an older version as stock was fcing, just update it with market and it will work great. You get the H/H+ symbol on the bar etc. You can debloat/whatever this before you flash with winrar, explorer, winzip, 7zip etc. I hope you find it useful. Hope I haven't forgotten anything.
I take no responsibility for you bricking your phone if you flash this, know where your recovery utilities are ahead of time.
I uploaded it as stock bell as possible since we're so short on bell sbf etc but hope to also provide a ready to go rom base for anyone who wants it.
Download it Here

Ty syaoran12 for the super sweet looking and informative installer script and matdalb for the system dumps used to create the zip.
(As well as Hashcode, Koush, everyone who's done any developement on this phone or any other droid platform ofc, the people here on and the hosts of xda)
User reported this working on xt883, trying to sort out details but it looks like flashing the radio.img from your model specific sbf package and then copying over the libmoto_ril.so and build.prop was what worked for the user here
Is there something like this for Droid 3?

Cool, lemme know if it works. You're gonna have to remember to push a verizon build.prop and probably libmoto_ril.so to the phone to get it fully functional, I'd start with just pushing the build.prop and see how far that gets you then the libmoto_ril if you're up but having trouble with data.

Here is how i did
1) get boot strap going
2) boot into recovery
3) factory wipe
4) install 2.3.6 rom
5) factory wipe again
6) let it boot
7) copy build(system) and libmoto (system\lib)
8) that didn't work
9) flash radio image from 863
10) boot up and repeat step 7
11) boot up fine..now got phone working with h+, etc. brow internet without wifi working. So i am accessing 3g data.

Thanks for testing etc. Looks more and more like roms really are "universal" if you patch the build.prop and 1 ril file.
Are there any significant changes between this and 2.3.4? I'd like to try this on my XT862.

Wow that's funny
Here is an almost stock 1.29.651.10 ROM, both Odex and Deodex, based on my Sprint One system dump (I RUU'd, took ota, HTCDev unlocked, TWRP, dd'd /system). I flashed both and everything appears to work fine. If anyone finds an issue, I will correct it and re-upload. You can flash this right after you flash TWRP (read below), as this has root and system write protection already disabled (read here).

Would downloading the odex version of this and flashing over stock rooted be the best way to get the OTA updates, without having to set our apps gmail, etc. up again, or will there be a recovery flashable .zip in your opinion, that will do the trick?
I'd like to stay stock as long as possible so I can better support my clients on stock.

Welcome I'm away for the day and didn't figure I'd be on my laptop much, and of course this happens. Well, I left my charge at home figuring I wouldn't need it and my laptop is almost dead lol time to "rent" a charger from Best Buy for the day! lol
Be back in a bit to work on getting viperROM rebased

This is a flashable .zip for recovery. You could dirty flash, but I never do. I use Titanium Backup to backup everything, full wipe, flash new base, set up accounts again, restore apps and data.
Yes, thanks, I know that is the preferred method. I guess I am just looking for a flashable .zip of the the OTA that will just update the stock with the new files, so that it still shows stock in about phone, etc. and is as close to stock as possible while rooted and able to add most of the goodies...LOL.
I guess I should just flash the new base using TiB as you said, and let my staying with rooted Sprint Stock obsession go...I mean, I've already installed MoDaCo to get rid of the darned menu bar!
Thanks again for all your hard work and patient answers...When my clients finally pay me for last month's work, I'll be sending a beer or two your way!
So wiping and flashing this is equivalent to taking the ota??? Or is ruu than take ota than root again than flash the way to do it???? I just wanna go the best possible way. Thanks

I see what you're asking. The issue there is that it shows every apk and framework file is different from the last base because the version numbers were bumped. I'm not going to go through almost 300 files to see if it was just the version numbers that changed if you dirty flash this (no /data wipe), that would be like taking the OTA but I can't promise that it will work properly.

I really should just take the plunge and install ViperRom. I understand the battery life is amazing, among so many other things. I'll wait till you have the new base in, and flash. Actually, getting excited, and can hardly wait, and no, that is not any kind of an ETA question, LOL! I hate those too!

I would recommend a FULL WIPE (including /data) coming from the previous base. I do it, doesn't mean you have to, but I would.

Just out of curiosity, what is the order you're recommending here? Are you meaning wipe System, flash, wipe data or wip data, wipe system, mount, move ROM over PC, then flash it? I'm not quite sure what is the order of everything you're recommending.
Also, I had flashed CM10 to try it out and it borked my file structure. Will this cleaning fix that issue?

Kernel was updated, baseband I'm not sure. I did the RUU and then the OTA, so it would have flashed any firmware (stock ROMs intentionally do not touch firmware) but mine says 1.00.20.0315 for baseband.

Hey guys, as of recently it has been tough to keep up with posting "OP Updated" whenever I update a ROM since I have quite a few ROMs I'm supporting on 3 different forums. So from now on, it is gonna be up to you to check the link in the OP for updates. I will be updating all ROMs regularly... So check back often. Thanks guys and ENJOY!

It's already included in the ROM, you just need to change it in the theme chooser. If you want it for a different ROM, I think the theme can be found on the Play Store.

Letting us know doesn't do any good, unless you post details. What were your installation methods? Did you try this on a lock or unlocked bootloader? Did you install GAPPs at the same time? See what I'm getting at? We can't provide help, if you don't provide details. 99% of failed installations are user error (I've done it myself, too). So, let us help you.
I installed this on my M with zero issues and many people have installed on other devices with zero issues.
i apologize i just assume that we are all on the same page i am 100% unlocked im using twrp i attempted flash just like any other rom, did a clean wipe of my device flashed rom by itself and it failed i never flash rom and gapps at the same time just a personal choice i guess lol

If you're flashing an AOSP ROM, you should always flash the GAPPs at the same time, especially on this ROM. This is SlimBean based and a lot of things aren't included in the base ROM, which are included in GAPPs. This usually applies to most AOSP ROMs. Sometimes, they won't boot at all without a GAPPs package because there are things in there that make the ROM work.
Check out the add-ons on the Slim website. I always flash the AIO package, but there are several to choose from. If you want just a basic package, use their simple GAPPs or you can use the Aroma AIO that allows you to pick and choose the apps that you want to install.

maybe i didnt explain it correctly or maybe i misunderstood what you were asking? ive noticed that when i flash a rom it gives me the option to flash multiples zip files at once which in my mind would be the rom and the gapps at the same time...i dont and have never done my flashing like that i flash the rom by itsself once that is succesful i then flash the gapps by themselves then i wipe cache then reboot:silly:

Yeah, that was unclear, but I'm with you now. With that being said, which GAPPs did you use? If all else fails, try to re-download and re-flash. Also, I usually use the multi-zip option and have never run into an issue with it, but I know how you feel. For the longest time, I wouldn't use it because I was scared I would put the wrong zip in the queue.

Intro;
Hello,
I tried the "niaboc79"'s stock 4.4.4, first of all I want to say "Thanks " to him. Thanks .
Some unlucky users like me, experienced that the noise cancelling is not working in that ROM. But the rest, everything works like charm.
Then I started to search a solution for Noise Cancelling issue, then Luckly I found one, I Guess.
I said I guess, because, For now, I tried my method on only my phone.I want to emphasise that, I'm not absolutely a developer of XDA, or something. I just somebody who has a computer knowledge, and that's all.Linux... It's not my thing..
So, I'll take NO responsibilty. Don't blame me. I just want to share that thing to you, because I took results
And please, Read the thread completely.
Installation:
What we need is ;
1-)Install a DualRecovery..Here If you already have, don't need. Thank you, @[NUT]
2-) You can create your own Pre-Rooted firmware from : here Thank you, @zxz0O0
Or just download the one that I made.
http://www.mediafire.com/download/io3c28y393x31kv/flashable.zip
Based on Official Honk-Kong ROM. 1281-5476 Nothing touched, I don't even know how to extract apps or smthng I Just converted TFT, to ZIP with PRF tool.
Everything what we need is included.(Dual Recovery, And Others.)
3-)Flash ZIP through your recovery.
4-)This step is for who is encountering problems with getting FULL ROOT.I found it thorugh completetly by coincident. At First, I coudln'T install XPOSED, It was saying something like that "It couldn't mount /system Because is not writable" . But root checker was saying that I was Root ? WTF ?
Now, we need "Easy Root Tool" Download it thorugh here Please Don't Ask me How it's gonna work .It's for old version, I know. and it's lame, I don't know why I thought that It'll work, but It fixes our root problem.
Connect your phone to the your PC, Make sure that USB Debugging is ON and ADB drivers are installed
5-)Click "Install.bat", Wait for the that screen;
Code:
.....
libzxploit.so created

My best advice, If my flashed.zip is not working on your phone, You should create your own Firmware from your own Software CID! Right now; I'm in Turkey, Using Honk-Kong based firmware, No issues so far.Noise Cancelling working, Fully rooted...
As I said before, I'M NOT DEVELOPER. I CAN'T GURANTEE THAT IT'LL WORK ON YOUR PHONE.
I'd appreciate feedbacks!
Cheers!

Take your time.
-I Used TWRP
-I didn't wiped absolutely nothing from the begining. I flashed my rom directly into the older Niaboc's one. My appllications works without problems.
-Yes, That method works too, But I wanted to have full root just in case because my some other apps need that.
-And yes, you've got it correct. R-W permission fixed at Step 4.

Pretty pleased that it works for others. Downloading it right now, so will be a little bit before I get to flash it - 1GB file and MediaFire do take a little bit longer, even with fast internet.
@shockss If I understand correctly, including the patched Dual recovery from @nortis thread here should remove the need to use easyroot to mount system r/w.
Also bear in mind if you have a less than stellar spec pc completing the task with PRFCreator will take considerably longer than 7 minutes (took me 30, but hey).
I'll let you all know how I get on after flashing my zip.
