Google Play Services crashing constantly - Galaxy Ace S5830 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello all
Since last month Google Play Services are crashing after rebooting device, installing/removing application or just randomly (up to 30 crashes per day).
I've wiped user data, flashed again CM7 but without success. I've searched for solution but nothing helped
Does anyone know fix for that?

The problem seems to be with Google Play Services. Everyone seems to get this error often now-a-days. But user Keylocker has provided us with a simple solution and it works. Just follow his instructions. Here is the link,
Google Play Service Fix
Hope I Helped

Hi
It seems that deleting google services also solves the problem.
Anyway thanks for your reply, ill try this when something bad will happen without google services installed.

[Q] Google apps connection has timed out error

I'm having trouble with the play store and chrome and other google apps periodically getting connection time outs while on my mobile network. It is a strange problem because my other apps like games and HTC internet and anything that isn't a google app can connect to the internet and work just fine.
I have tried clearing the cache of the play store and affected apps like chrome, but it doesn't work. I also tried deleting the hosts.txt file in the root directory, but that didn't help either. The only thing I have found to work is to go into airplane mode and then come back out, but that is only a temporary fix until the error comes back again.
I have been searching around various forums for the past couple days and haven't been able to find anything helpful. I am currently on the viper 7.0.1 and haven't seen any mention of this problem in that thread.
Any helpful insight and advice would be greatly appreciated, thanks!
Anyone?
I have the same issue and haven't found a solution yet. Happening on ARHD 82.0 with eX18, though it seems to be a problem on stock kernel as well. For me, i can't get google play store, snapchat, pushbullet...etc, things that rely on google play services, to work at all on mobile data and mobile data only. Wifi is fine, almost all other apps (twitter, facebook, chrome) work fine in any case. I have tried a full wipe with no improvement. Only thing that seems to fix it temporarily is to wipe dalvik cache.

GPS do not work if google play is not deactivated

Hey Gyus,
I have HTC One mini 2 for two years on Android 4.4.2 all stock without any big problems until now.
I came home on last Sunday with GPS working. I do not install any new app but GPS on Monday stop working. All apps have the same problem no gps signal.
I tried sports tracker, gps test, google maps, sygic navigation. Same problem. I tried unistall every app which can use GPS( or I think that I tried unistall all of them) and nothing helps.
My last try was disable google play app and after restarting my phone, problem solved GPS working again.
Then I activate google play app again, reinstall some apps again and it was ok until next morning, situation was the same. So I deactivated google play again and after restart it was ok.
Could you give me some hint where should be my problem? )
I would like to use GPS based apps and google play together without activate/deactivate google play app.
There is some pictures for this.

where exacly gps not working? car, house?

wont work at all? no icon on notification bar?

I do not have house without roof so I tested it in a car, and open air.
works but not satellite lock.
Without satellite fix and when google play is activated all satellites "are off", after deactivating and restart, satellites imidiately works and after few second fix is on too.
wont work at all? no icon on notification bar?
Icon in notification bar works for a first time since restart. In my opinion there some "looping or deadlock", because after first try "gps using app"(for example gps test) after restart, sometimes icon stays blinking.

have you tried resenting your phone? you can do a backup with HTC Sync and then restore.

Exactly it starts approx. 10days ago.
Do you find any solution? Try to deactivate google play, restart your phone if it helps... But it is only temporary solution. I am looking for better solution.
I think that there was some secret update of some google services and there is a bug.

I had a similar problem with a cheap chinese dashboard camera when it runs from 12V car socket, gps signal was weaker, but it is not this case.
I use simple version of your app called GPS test - I cant post links yet so there it is:
play(dot)google(dot)com/store/apps/details?id=com.chartcross.gpstest
I have not tried reseting yet, because I think it is a SW problem and I think it is possible to fix it... I hope.

I have done factory reset and GPS worked over the weekend but now same problem again. If I restart 1, 2 or 3 times in a row it may start working again. I will test your solution deactivate Google Play services and restart.

OK. I think you will face a problem with deactivate google play services. It was my first try to solve the problem, but I cant deactivate this in my phone. So insted of google play services I disabled google play store and it finally works(after restart).
Now I have another idea. I will try to unistall all updates from google play store app and we will see. Now it is working, but I will be more confident if it will work tomorrow(over the night) too.

so i just tested mine and sat nav wouldn't get a lock.
however using the app and reloading xdata it fixed the problem.
Hi.
Same problem here.
Disabled most Google services without success. Can't disable Google play store itself.
Have tried GPS fix apps without success. Any assistance here would be great as its been about a week now and starting to have a real negative impact.
Cheers
I tried to unistal google play store update, so I had a stock version and it works ok, but I have to have internet connection disabled.
When Internet is on google play store is automaticly updated to last version which is the bad one and problem persist.
So maybe new question - it is possible to block updates for google play store app? Or is it possible to install previous version of this app?
I can use only two of them, the stock one(very very old) and automaticly updated last one. I would prefer last one minus one version that one was ok for me. Any hints how to revert to older version?
If a reset doent fix the issue, i would try to contact HTC and see what they say.
I can write to HTC, but I think I know that they will not able to do anything...
After I enable net connection google play store app update a new version(automaticly during the night even if I disable background data for this app).
Now I have version 6.9.15.G-all [0] 3104571 and after update everything works until phone restart.
Again same situation, but there is a solution, if you kill the google play store app, delete app cache and data, GPS work again.
But I think that works only to the next restart or to the next google play app start(background or by user).

Yes, with factory version of Google Play Store (4.8.2.0) GPS works without having anything disabled

in order to disable Google play store (1)
First, you must have version 4.8.2 installed (just replace it in /system/app with the new com.android.vending.apk)
Download a root service from the store called "Disable service" (again make sure root is installed and the app is given root permission)
Now, in the disable service app, navigate to the system app tab and find Google play store. Tap on it and you will get a list of services
Scroll to the bottom and uncheck "check Wifi And Update" service.
You will see a "please wait" notification, and at the bottom busybox should appear, notifying you that the app was given root access
Exit the app and voila! Google play store will never update itself or Google play services ever again (unless you install a new version, in which case you would need to repeat the process)
Thank you, it is good to know for users with rooted phone.
I have my one in stock conf. without root.
I made a call to HTC and they told me that it is known problem for about two weeks for HTC One, One mini 2 and One M7.
They are trying to do their best to solve the problem but HTC support from Poland resend this problem to HTC support to Egypt and them works on it.
I think that there is only two solutions - new version of Google play store app or HTC software update for One mini 2, both are very complicated, because google do not care about HTC people and HTC stops to pruduce updates for mini 2 for about year and half ago...
They wanted to know IMEI, telephone number and they call me maybe, baby ))

I thought that you will have the problem next day and I do not want to write it there.
I think that problem is somewhere between google play store app and HTC modification of Android in our devices.
I think users cant do anything except disable google play store app, unistal google play store app and disable net connection or wait for HTC update or wait for next version of google play store app.

Google play services stopped working at all. Anyway to fix it?

Hello everyone,
I have a XT1068 with CM13 and a couple of days ago the camera stopped working. Today the remaining apps that need google play services to work properly and I am trying to find a solution before doing a clean CM install. Tried reinstalling it (couldn't because mine is the latest version) and clearing its data (some apps came back to life but some are still very buggy) . To make things worse, the phone is not connecting to any PC/mac over USB and not even Adb is working (both issues are also new and I don't know if they're related to Google play services problems) so I cannot do any backups. Is there anything I still can do before performing a clean install?

Google Play Services Bug

I've noticed a problem-bug in my P20 Pro It comes out in only one application so far, I fix it and it only returns if I turn off and on my mobile or reboot it.
I do not know if it's Oreo or P20, but when i open it, it says "Google Services are updating". To do so, I do remove Google Play Services and then update it to the latest version.
Any ideas?
Got the same issue and I think there are more people out there with that issue. I've read about people not being able to see the map in several apps. I have this same issue in telegram for example and it says play services are updating..
Here is a workaround for it.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/huawei-p20-pro/how-to/maps-app-t3788290
It's a pretty serious bug. I use uber a lot, at least I did before I got the P20 Pro.
If it's not fixed in the update I may have to consider selling it. That's if an update ever materialises of course!
Here some people with the same problem -> https://productforums.google.com/forum/#!topic/play/xfLz_9emKs0
would be good if can disable the app from auto-updating so left with a working version
Hey guys,
I posted a thread about this a while back and someone the other day replied with the reason why, at least it confirmed why mine wasn't working.
I opted in for the beta play services, which some of you might have too. The beta is not yet functional with the P20 Pro and we can't expect it to be functional because it's a beta version and stable releases exist.
I suggest leaving the beta and reinstalling the app, that's fixed the issue for me even after multiple reboots.

I don't appear to be in the beta program. Which version of Play Services are you running now?
I noticed many reviews of Play Services on the store complains about all kinds of other apps being broken now, no idea if they are all Huawei users or if it's a more general issue with the current version.

Same version as I mine. I haven't noticed it updating so it's presumably the one that caused me issues until I cleared the data. I haven't tried a reboot since - sounds from some of the other reports that it might trigger the problems again. If so I can try a reinstall of Play Services.
I had the same issue. All I did was clear the cache from settings -- Apps -- Google Play Services -- Clear cache. Worked fine so far, no more issues.

seems to be a pretty big issue. deleting the app data helps for a few hours, but it comes back. i have an honor 8 and started getting really drastic battery drain and weird wifi issues, along with the google services are updating message. apparently google is working on it. it's 79405933 on issue tracker.
This is getting really infuriating.
Clearing data does sort it, but only temporarily. Also, I have a Wear watch, and clearing data wipes the connection, and it's a PITA to reconnect it without resetting the watch.
Issue is fixed. Please update to New google play services v. 12.6.85.
This is still not working for me , Maps works and is smooth and fine for in car nav etc
But Ingress does not .
I have gone from 12.6.85 to 12.6.88 beta , but that has not fixed the issue.
Ingress lags massively , you cannot really play it
"GPS Test" app show a excellent GPS signal and locked on , yet ingress will take about 30sec -2mins to show up as connected
Then as you move it will be stuck on the last location , tried lots of in game options , nothing seems to help a min later or so it will jump and stick at another location.
Anyone else running Ingress ok ?
Note when I got the phone ingress worked fine, I had to update and reset data to remove that play services updating error in other apps, like TheSchoolApp

Google Play Problems

Hi everyone, has anyone encountered problems updating or downloading apps through the google play store? Mine doesn't download or update apps for some reason. It stuck on "downloading". My phone is tencent version flashed/fingerprint WW, software version 1907.33. I'm wondering updating to 1907.35 will solve this problem or is it just Google Play app?
I've tried clearing the cache and reinstall but doesn't solve the problem.
Asus ROG Phone 2
Yes unfortunately I have tried every suggestion know to man to resolve the Google Play Store Stopped Working issue and nothing worked. I factory reset the phone 3 times, had the bios and firmware flashed and nothing worked. I ended up returning the device for a full refund through Amazon. My best advice is run. Something in the software is corrupt.
Mine got stuck aswell. It would download half or less of the app and then hangs stuck. But I managed to fix my problem by running the mobile manager and ran both RAM cleaning and cache. After that Google play store worked again.
Is this only with the tenchen version or even on the global Strix version to?
So far, no problems found with Google Play and I have the tencent version too, the only difference I see between yours and mine is the fingerprint version which is CN
Not sure if it's the same issue, but since android 9 on thie and another phone, I've intermittently had the same problem.
It seems to be related to the play store wanting to update itself, and for some reason with my disabling of play books, docs etc, and with my withdrawing of certain permissions from some of the gapps it just wouldn't do it.
Try reenabling any stock gapps which have been disabled, and in the reset options in settings, select "reset app preferences". After that, reboot your phone.
That's worked for me in similar situations previously.
