I really like Otterbox Commuter case for HD2. But it does not come with belt clip (like Defender)
Is there any vertical or horizontal leather case (holder) with clip which will accommodate HD2 with Commuter case ?

There isn't, because the holster is a whole different shell, so you need to find a holster that is made by otterbox, or has the same specifications as when the HD2 has most of the Defender on.
May be there is no clip-on holster, may be there is case like this, which fits HD2+Commuter

Yes, I bought a leather pouch for a G1 in the the T-Mobile store that fit my HD2. After I put the commuter case on, I am still able to use this pouch but I have to push it as far in as I can to be able to snap the pouch shut. I'll try to take a picture of it if I can get another camera.
Here's a link to it available on Amazon.

So it is not easy to insert/remove and you have to use some force ?
No, you just need to make sure it is fully inserted before you can snap it shut.
Here's a picture of the phone with the Otterbox commuter case in the holster.
Paten, thanks for the pic. This is what I was looking for.
Anybody else has similar case - cheaper ?
I like the idea of Commuter case + hip case.
- less bulk for the case
- prefer plastic over rubber (Commuter) vs rubber over plastic (Defender)
- this combination protects camera lens
Otterbox Commuter DIMENSIONS:
4.98 in x 2.82 in x 0.62 in
126.4 mm x 71.6 mm x 15.7 mm
How can I find a phone/PDA with same size ?

Is it with magnetic closing?
Product Description
Made of high-quality Napa leather with fully lined interior. Snap closure provides a secure fit and easy access. Built-in leather wrapped fixed belt clip.
The holster that comes with this case is the perfect fit:

I spent many hours looking and buying and even returning some cases the last 4 weeks from Amazon and Ebay. So far I have bought the Poetic case, the Samsung flip case, the Samsung TPU case, the hard case that was impossible to remove once put on, another Ebay flip case that offers good corner protection except for one corner, a Sieido active case and now this morning, and Amzer case and a rugged case that looks and feels like the Seidio case.
First the rugged case looks and feels great, EXCEPT for the freaking smell! It wreaks of kerosene or a combination of that and Raid roach spray!

And this is where it went after attempting to wash it three times and then soaking it in Palmolive. There is no way the smell is going away. It is embedded in the material. I thought I had a gas leak in my car or the smell was coming from the next car's exhaust until I took a whiff of the case.
The Amzer, which was supposed to be a cheaper version of the Casemate Pop, is just a TPU case with a kickstand. The material is TPU, I was hoping for a harder rubber case to protect the corner and the lip is just a hair thicker than the Samsung TPU case. Kickstand feels flimsy and the TPU material pulls too easily away from the edge.
It has a nice grip and if you like thin case then this is ok.
A run down of the other cases and why it failed:
Looks great, very well protected, IMPOSSIBLE to remove!
Samsung TPU can Poetic flip case. The Samsung doesn't offer enough drop protection and the Poetic is too thick and loose fitting on the phone.
Ebay flip case:
great except the bottom right corner is not well covered and the bottom edge is also not covered.
I guess it is either the Otterbox Commuter case next or the Trident Aegis. All I want is good drop protection and a little thicker raised lip around the front of the phone, something like the Casemate tough case for my E4GT!
Seidio was fine except it was lint magnet and the silicone material is too thin and pull away easily from the edge.
I picked up the rooCASE Ultra-Slim Vegan Leather Folio Case and have been using it for about two weeks now. I didn't see any reviews on xda so here goes:
Build & Materials: Vegan (fake) leather. Originally I was only looking for genuine leather cases but I couldn't find any that I liked. I compared it to my my goatskin leather Bible and while not as soft, the rooCASE still manages to feel good in the hand - grippy too. Stitching seems well done and I could't find any spots where it was unraveling or unsatisfactory.
Buttons & Ports Access: It's easy to get to the headphones and USB ports on the bottom and the power and volume controls on the side. The speaker has five holes cut in the leather above it and sounds fine (for a Nexus 7). The microphone on the left has a cutout but the one on the top is covered by the case. I've done several Skype calls with the case on and haven't had anyone complain though. YMMV.
Design & Use: The Nexus 7 slides into the rooCase and then is held in place by a flap tucked underneath. The secures with velcro and holds the Nexus when turned sideways and shook (not recommended). The fit of the Nexus 7 inside the case is also very good. The bottom of the case (touching the bezel) is cut slightly shorter than the sides making it easy to tap the soft keys on the bottom. The case also has a cutout for the webcam and this helps to access the notification bar. Lastly the case has a stand with two viewing angles (25 and 45 degrees). I haven't used this myself much except to test it out but it seems study enough. Edit: I've used it a little more and it isn't as sturdy as I initially thought. Just keep that in mind if you are wanting to use it in this manner.
Sleep & Wake Feature: The rooCase has a magnet in the cover to put the Nexus 7 to sleep and wake it up when opened (similar to the Apple Smart Cover). It also keeps the cover closed when moving around and I can hold the case upside down without the cover releasing. I also want to note that the magnet does not turn the device off when folded completely back like some other cases have had problems with. And as far as I can tell it doesn't have any effect on the GPS.
tl;dr I would highly recommend the rooCase Ultra-Slim Case for the Nexus 7. Stylish, decent protection, access to all ports and controls, etc and just 3.5oz and 17mm thick (with Nexus inside).
I bought this @ Amazon for $18.81 (price as of 1/21).

quick question: price and where did you buy it?
thanks for the review.
Sorry forgot that. I updated the OP.
Hi everyone, anyone whi tried both cases?
I have the google one in tpu (adopted) and I want to try another one.
Wich is the best? Look very similar.
I've ordered the spigen one this morning, then I saw the Ringke.
Maybe I could cancel the order and take the ringke,
if it is better.
I had the Spigen on a Nexus 5 for 2 years. The only issue I found was when I held the phone in one hand I rested it on my little finger, which after a while was a little uncomfortable due to the sharp bottom edge of the case.
I ordered one for my 5X but with the phone being that bit heavier? it was too uncomfortable, so I got a Ringke fusion which I'm really happy with.
The Ringke slim covers the whole bottom edge? so shouldn't have that particular problem
I was torn between these 2 cases as well...ultimately I went with the ringke because it covers the whole bezel as apposed to the spigen which does not cover the top and bottom. I do have the case however I won't have the phone until Monday to put it in. I may get a spigen latter on as they have a white option and ringke does not and I wanted my black 5x to have a white case with the black finger print scanner.

Same here - went for the Ringke for the all round protection which is missing from the Spigen.
I just got my Ringke Slim to replace my Spigen Thin Fit. The material feels exactly like the Spigen which is great. The Ringke feels slightly "slimmer", on the sides and on the back, the camera bump protection is still there but slightly less pronounced, you have to look real hard. I like this case a lot, and it wraps around the whole phone now. No more sore pinky finger I hope. If you are looking at both of these cases, I think the Ringke is a better all round choice.
Ringke Slim. No question. It's the perfect case, in my opinion. It has full protection, unlike the Spigen option, and the form fit/cut-outs are absolutely perfect.

(ignore my obnoxiously thick tempered glass screen protector. Replacing it with a thinner one soon.)

I just wish the Ringke had a space between the sensor and the camera and didn't have an open area then. Other than that, love it. The cover for the headphone jack was a bonus!

I don't use cases for all device. But I prefer Spigen Brand.
These come with a free glass screen protector too. Ordered one Friday and got it Saturday! Case fits well, is double layered but not bulky. It has a nice lip to raise the screen when laying it face down and has a kickstand.

This has been my go to case since my note edge. I love the kickstand and holster, plus it's very thin. I ordered mine yesterday, with the free glass screen protector. Estimated delivery is Monday. Will post a review in a few days!!!
I have used Seidio surface cases for a very long time on numerous devices, when my Seidio holster recently broke for the note 5 I decided to try an Encased slimshield. instead of $30 for a replacement surface holster the Encased slimshield with holster is like $16. It is thinner overall than the Surface. the plastic used for the case and holster are thicker than the surface it is very similar to how the Seidio surface used to be made before they changed their design and started using the rubber inserts. The kickstand is integrated into the holster instead of the phone case, which I prefer (I had trouble wireless charge with note 5 surface). I can't speak for the note 8 version because it won't be here until Tuesday, but the only drawback I have with the note 5 version is the cutout for the s-pen is smaller than the surface's
---------- Post added at 12:19 PM ---------- Previous post was at 11:58 AM ----------
I did order a Seidio optik for the note 8 and got the free glass, the glass doesnt fit properly, there is a black border on all 4 sides of the protector which blocks view of the edge on the sides of the note screen but doesn't even extend all the way to the end of the note's screen, and the protectors corners are squared and cut into view of the screen as well. there is no adhesive in the clear part of the glass protector and it drastically increases the pressure required to register on the screen. there is an Audible click when you press on it from the 2 glass surfaces between screen and protector. It didn't even last the first day before it found it's way into the trash can
I got the Encased because the surface wasn't available yet. So I took my phone out of the case I already had put the 2 piece case on and made sure the pieces were as snug as they could be. Picked up the phone the bottom half slipped out and now I have my first ding. Thanks Encased.
My original case, Spigen Tough Armor, fits in the holster.

I haven't had that problem with encased slim shield on my note 5, but my surface on my note 5 would come apart on it's own until I wedged some paper behind the case seams
Pics please in the holster? Does it "Stand off" your waist far? I got the DILEX version and not a fan of that style. Been rocking a surface for years, from the beginning. Seidio is THE only case I consider.

Just like my other Surface holsters, this sits close. I was reluctant to get the Dilex because it looked like it was going to stick out.
