Asking for best rom is again XDA rules, If you are on stock rom and as you mentioned that it hasn't been used for a while, factory reset might help, if you don't like touchwiz, then flash KK rom of your choice after clean wipe, read thread for instructions on how to.

Sorry, missed that rule about asking for a rom :/
I am running good old CM 9xxx. I was more asking if there are any known roms to be as lite as possible and a really light launcher.
Anyway, Im downloading latest CM now and Ill see how that perform I get the idea that latest CM isnt the most light, especially for old devices with only 1gb ram, am I wrong?

never used CM, so i might not be the right person to answer that. I have been using Omnirom and Asylum-omni rom both with fabulous performance and battery life.

Mod Edit
"Best" or "Recommend" ROM/kernel threads are not allowed on XDA.
Please test these things for yourself.
This is the only way you will get an unbiased opinion, and then, you can decide for yourself if it meets YOUR needs.

Hello Pator57,
First I want to express my intentions with this post: I'm VERY glad that you have started to work on these ROM ports, and I'm only willing to help ya so that you can contribute more and more for the wildfire.
For me, a ROM presenting shouldn't be done in this way. First , lets start with the thread name-you should specify what actually is in this thread, is it a port/mod/build-from-source/etc, not only 'aokp update' for example, you should specify a date/version of the specific ROM , so that the users can keep an eye on the ROM since its almost certain that it will have some bugs , that should be fixed in new versions.
Later, in the thread its good not only to explain how and what you did it, but to put screen-shots/videos. To give details about the features, the ROM base and from where did you ported it, about the performance and some glitches. Plus that don't forget to include some disclaimer, so that you are not taking any responsibility for bricked phones, earthquakes or anything else. There can always be someone to point at you and claim that you bricked his precious phone. Detailed credits are also good to write, but you have made it so its OK.
Moreover, the actual zip of the ROM. Its not cool to name it 'aokp.zip' or 'miuiv4.zip'. I again think that including date/version is good, because when you make 3-4 different zips with bug fixes for example, personally i love to store more than a one version of the ROM I use and with these names it wouldn't be practical.
Of course one can rename it himself , or try the ROM to find out whats in,but(I think) these small suggestion would make you look more professional and reliable, just the way a developer/porter should look. This will give me personally convince in you, and that the things you do wont harm my phone. I hope noone will feel offended in any way. My intention as I said is only to help you, so that we can have one more ROM "producer" here. All what I wrote are personal views on how the things are done around here, its your choice whether to follow them!

I'm sure it shouldn't be called like this, because its a whole-ROM zip , and you tell that we should wipe everything when installing it,but whatever.Since its an 'update' of tathanhlam66's ROM , why do you make a whole new thread and not just continue what tathanhlam66 started ?
EDIT: Plus that , you have not edited both threads as I suggested you, which is making them BOTH look just funny. If you are not serious , and constantly state 'This is an update...blqblq', they will continue to look funny and futile!
and i hope you got permission to post and uptate his work?

As on the MIUI thread, is it possible to provide some more details on that? Screenshots, bug list?
It's quite tricky to flash a ROM without knowing the results..
There are no bug but if im wrong tell me like my miui port. But it report to doesn't boot so i will try to make it boot next weekend. And i don't need to ask permision aokp it's like miui it's an open software and no need screenshoot the rom it's an ics rom but only with some aokp option tweaks

What are the newest most stable rom releases?

Hi
I must say I am a bit disconnected from the Android world since I get to university and I must ask how all have evolved. I'm looking for the newest most stable custom roms at the moment of this post. I think it would be a good idea to maintain a post like this to keep track of what roms have reached a stable, proven state without having to dig too much.
Cheers!

Well there's the RC4 build (release candidate 4) of cyanogen mod 10.1 that's quite good. Its based on android 4.2.2.
Take note that you should ask questions in the questions section and ROM discussions are generally frowned upon so do venture into the development section to learn more about them.

I recommend roms with Mackay kernel, they are often stable and durable in battery but less powerful than Devil kernel. By the way, no one has moved or deleted this post yet =))

[Q] Really getting lost with choosing a ROM

Hello,
I am really having trouble choosing a ROM.
There are so many..
I currently have TsunamiX 5.2.
Which is the newest with a very good battery life, less lags and bugs, Rom's out there?
Gaming and "high" performance are not important for me.
Thank you

Yes, I tried it, its based on CM11 if im not wrong. But as I said before, Im on Macay ICS CM9 since more than a month now, this means I found this Rom very very useful. Before I flashed every 2-3 days, sometimes even twice a day, I tried many many Roms but this is just Great. Smooth, Stable, Bugless, with longest batery life comparing with Roms before. You can give a try, and you'll see. Hope to like it (if you decide to try it)
Good luck.

Exactly.. It's not like I opned a thread in which I asked "What is the best rom out there?".
Roms come in many shapes and specifications..
Nothing wrong in getting advices from more expirienced users
BTW, It is kinda anti-Intuitive to go back to ICS.. Any missing features from JB or Kitkat? Or does it feel the same?

Some things are missing, but for example "doubletap to sleep" you can use an xposed module for that and works great, Center clock and battery styles, and many other tweaks you can use Xblast tools (xposed module). The only thing I cant find was "Clear all button" on recent app list, but you can swipe one by one...
Im really satisfied with this Rom, based on features of Galaxy S i9000, (for me at least) this was best so far.

In that case, I will suggest to our friend @princesama1 to give a shot at Official CM11.
From my experience, it's the most stable and reliable ROM that I had on the phone.

I recommend that you either try the ROM in my signature or the ROMs built on unofficial sources.
I have no idea why but official stutters during just any game that puts above 70% load on CPU and I even experience lags while recording no matter what kernel I use. This wouldn't happen before but since some time now it's happening and I'd prefer CM 10.2 over CM11 official.
Unofficial sources have updated blobs, some stuff about camera is broken but games are faster, UI and general usage etc. all snappier.
I'd suggest to try out the LiquidSmooth Rom or SlimKat. Had the best experience with those and running LiquidSmooth + Cydoak kernel atm. Works like a charm .
I'm sad... i tried a lot of rom but i like nothing...
Cm11 offical wasnt able to do 4G idk why (i even got sms from Telenor lol) some roms broke
Almost all rom the same...they have only different name

Better Custom Rom

Hello guys
I have a GT-I8190 phone and want to make a root and install a custom rom...
I searched about root but the information is a bit confused or have links down. Can i install twrp (https://twrp.me/site/update/2015/06/22/twrp-2.8.7.0-released.html) and then install super su (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1538053)?
Later i want to install the custom rom, i thought about - KitKat 4.4.4 (CyanogenMod 11.0) 20151017 or Lollipop 5.1.1 (CyanogenMod 12.1) 20151013 stable. Which one you think it's the best? The smoother and best battery life?
Thank you for your answers
KK 4.4.4 is the more stable working variant.

ok, i will install that first
Is lollipop (cm12.1, omni, slimLP )better than kitkat to keep on our s3 mini as we can experience ART and cool animations.
I already installed the 4.4.4 and looks really good!
I'm gonna try it to see how it goes...and then maybe try lollipop
I tried to install again the CM 11 and now got the error "encryption unsuccessful"
Can anyone tell me a workaround for this device?
Many thanks
Cm 11 drain battery as hell.

We are a bit lenient on Best Rom threads for quite some time now and so far no big issues irised from it.
As long things are kept civil and free from fanboyism etc we will allow it.
We WILL close them when we whe notice abuse though.
