Custom Lock Screens turning Talkback on - Galaxy S III Mini Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Yesterday I've tried several custom lockscreen apps - they all needed to be turned on in accessibility options in order to process notifications. However, this also instantly was turning Talkback on - even though it was still listed as off in accessibility menu, I was hearing things like "Page 2 of 2" when I was scrolling through my homescreens.
This is really annoying and basically doesnt allow me to use any custom lockscreen...
My phone is stock, unrooted 4.1.2

[Q] No Lock Screen Notifications with TrickDroid & Nova

Hello all
Its still within a week of me getting the HTC One, but as I wandered further down the rabbit hole, I have already flashed TrickDroid onto it (mainly to keep the option for HTC Sense components I like) and the Nova Launcher.
Now, I do not get the Lock Screen notifications (SMS, Calls, Alarms), even though this is set to "Productivity" under Settings > Personalize > Lock Screen Style. I cant find any other settings relating to lock screens.
Last night, I tried adding the "Nova Launcher Prime", but this didnt offer any additional lock screen settings. I then tried "MagicLocker Main" which did put items back on the lock screen, but I didnt like the functionality.
So, I am forced down the route of *needing* to install an additional lock screen app? If so, is this due to some bug, etc, with TrickDroid or Nova that doesnt allow use of the built-in lock screen functionality on the HTC One? (Not sure if the lock screen is HTC Sense 5 or AOSP...) What are the recommended local screen apps? Next on my list was "WidgetLocker Lockscreen" as its made by the same people as Nova Launcher, but the intro text makes it sound really old... HTC Sense 3.0!?!?!?
Thanks

TrickDroid with the stock Sense lockscreen does not have any such notification problems. Did you select the AOSP lockscreen option during the Aroma installation? If so, that's probably most of your problem. Forcing an AOSP lockscreen on a Sense ROM can cause problems because these 2 were not really made to go together. If you're not sure which screen you have, the stock Sense lockscreen has the 5 icon row at the very bottom. If you don't have the Sense lockscreen, reflash TrickDroid (without wiping) with the AOSP lockscreen option unchecked.
Once you do this, be sure the option for "Notification Preview" is enabled in the Messages app, otherwise you won't see any SMS notifications on the lockscreen.
Thanks henrybravo
Tried your steps to re flash without wiping, and ensuring AOSP Lockscreen isn't installed, can't recall if I did choose this option before, but it is possible. Various messages appear on lock screen again now, like SMS and calendar notifications.
Does this mean staying down the HTC Sense 5 apps, there are some aspects of stock AOSP that just won't work? Or just TrickDroid that I have been using?
Thanks again

[Q] Notification Talback/NoLED/launcher/splanner/HelloWorld-Make-II kernel C22 Hell

I've been rolling round the net for a few days now trying to solve this but no fully successful result.
It seems the stock launcher has this bug were if u have anything active in the accessibility services such as NoLED then tallback (TB) kicks in.
I tried the disable TB suggestion for NoLED but it always seems to start again. However I have stooped the voice by uninstalling it + the 2 TTS engines. However a hand is displayed in the notification bar (& it ignores my colour thyme) and an ongoing notification is displayed as well U can get rid of this but it reappears at reboot.
So I've tried the used a different launcher idea for NoLED, I think this worked (lots of launchers & playing going on) TB voice wise but I still get the hand
Also the splanner 'full screen' widget does not seem to work with other launchers I've had a look at a few other calendar widgets but they are not as good as they did not display any text only a marker for events unlike the splanner widget.
But even if I could find a good 'full screen' calendar widget I would still have the TB hand problem so I might as well stick with the stock launcher as I have figured out how to shut it up - But I don't want the hand!
I was thinking of trying [KERNEL][TW]Forest-HelloWorld-Make-II kernel for JB N7000 as v1.73 has BLN support but this is an old version and the new version does not support it. Also it looks like v1.73 does not have phils touchwiz recovery; which I currently have and don't wish to loose. Also the BLN in 1.73 is based on wakelock, so would this mean bad battery life?
I cannot ask about the kernel in it's thread yet, so can anybody comment.
Last night I found the LEDBlinker Lite app & that looked interesting but the way in which it works (which I have not looked at yet) means the back & menu buttons are permanently illuminated (this will be because I have them set to be on when the screen is on as I have 360 degree rotation enabled) and the activation icon for button savior is displayed. So this is no go due to battery consumption and screen burn.
Can anybody suggest a way out of this catch 22 hell, so I have some sort of message notification with the screen 'off', with no TB voice, no TB hand in notification, 'full screen' splanner widget or similar which displays text for events, does not cause the prob with button savior and the back/menu keys and has philz touch?
If a new launcher is needed it needs to support folders in the apps draw and ideally be free. I'm def not paying anything till I get it all working due to the catch 22 nature of this.
Any suggestions muchly appreciated as I've been messing around with this for days.
I'm using sweet rom v11.1 with a philz touch v5.
Thanks

Getting back to AOSP (stock Android) lockscreen?

Hey all you brilliant people here.
I like many others I imagine am getting fed up with EMUI tarnishing what is otherwise a great phone, the P9. The lockscreen especially is pissing me off to no end, it's next to useless. Magazine unlock my ass...
I was wondering if you could back to the more usable AOSP lockscreen? I've Googled around, tried renaming keyguard.apk to .bak etc., but nothing really does it for me. Phone is rooted of course, and I have Xposed up and running. I am also unable to select "none" as security for the lockscreen as it is (and no, clearing credentials doesn't work), making things even more complicated.
I could use a 3rd party lockscreen, but they've always been completely hit & miss for me. Cheers everyone!
Selecting the "none" option in screen lock is easy.
- Select the "pattern" option, create a pattern and a backup code.
- Lock your phone and enter the wrong pattern 3 times.
- Wait a minute (until your next shot) and unlock with the "backup PIN" or Google Account
- You'll get to a screen where you can select what new option you want to use to unlock.
- DON'T CHOOSE AN OPTION, just press the "back" button and the unlock is set to "none"
Done!

Keep screen on widget

Is there any king of working widget for MIUI 7 that would work as a toggle for "never" option for auto-lock
I sometimes need to temporally enable "don't turn screen off", put phone somewhere and track info from launched app.
For native android there are plenty of widgets on Play Market that are perfectly working. However all I tried fail to work on MIUI.
So I need one for MIUI
Going deep in settings every time is not a convenient way

No (push) notifications

Hi all,
I have recently got myself an Honor Play and now some problems have manifested.
In particular, the lack of notifications bothers me more than anything.
So what is happening is:
When I get a notification, it might turn up in notification center, but it's not on the lock screen, neither is there a badge on the app.
I've read in some threads, that the battery management might cause this issue, so I turned it off for all the apps I expect notifications from.
Still nothing. Interestingly, I do get notifications from some apps, even on lock screen, but not all of them.
I don't use face unlock, just fingerprint. I also replaced my launcher with Lawnchair and my stock swipe gestures with Fluid NG, if that matters.
I come from an iPhone, where I'm used to having notifications pop up on my lock screen or on top of the screen, if my device is unlocked.
So I would like to have the same functionality here. I did read, that EMUI hides older notifications, but that I can live with.
But having no notifications at all is kind of a problem.
Anyone got around to solving this issue?
- SirThanksalot
Ok, so a small update from my side regarding this.
I'm not saying the problem is completely solved, but I would say most of it.
So coming from iOS, I was used to apps sending me notifications after I gave them permission.
However, it seems that you need to enable notifications in the settings of the app itself.
Especially news apps require that... So that fixes that.
Some apps seem to just have errors or bad implementations.
There is an app which should trigger a reminder at a specific time and I just can't get it to work.
So I would put this down to the app just not doing what it should.
Otherwise I think I have most of the notifications I need.
So the moral of the story, check all of your app's settings first ...
