I've just rooted my phone and installed the Virginity rom and here are my two questions :
1. When I change system font, it applies to everything except for keyboard - is it normal? Is there any way to make font change affect the keyboard ?
2. I like s3mini digital clock more than s4 one, so before flashing I did a backup of the stock rom, got DigitalClock.apk from it but I cant to get it working on virginity.
First I've deleted s4 digital clocks from system/aps folder so there would be no conflicts, and then placed the s3 DigitalClock.apk there, but it wont show up in the widgets menu even after the reboot.
When I tried to install it normally, instead of hard-copying it there, the message says that installation was successful but its still not on the widgets list, it doesnt even appear in system/aps. How can I get it to work?

Hey
I've recently started to play a little with theming other peoples lovely work to fit to my phones theme
I just tried the official HTC battery widget, but after i finished my work and wanted to try it out, i saved everything, re-signed the apk, uninstalled the one that was on the phone, placed my new apk on sd card and tried to install it using a file explorer, but after i click install i get the installing screen, followed by "Application not installed", is this because it's an official htc file that it won't let me install it from other places that the add widget menu, or did i do something wrong?
Regards
Rapo
Really?
278 views and no a single one who knows the answer or don't mind to test it out you self to see if it works for you?
You can't sign system apk's with test keys. Use the same META-INF folder that was used in the original apk - copy and paste it.
I've tried both with and without resigning, and nothing worked.
It's not a system file, it's pulled from the SD Card, since it's the widget you can download xtra from the "Get more HTC widgets"
That's why I don't understand why it won't install :/
Push it through adb there should be no errors ther
Just tried pusing the apk trough adb, but didn't see any changes, so tried rebooting phone, and it just started to loop at the boot screen
So had to pull battery and make a nanRestore..
So still needs a solution for how to get the edited htc battery widget to work..
What ROM are you using? An official one from HTC or Modded?
Using SenseHero 2.1 B5.1
The normal one works without problems, but i wanted to edit the color of it to make it fit my theme
Just had a mate looking at it, who knows quite a bit more than me about this, and no matter what he tried he couldn't get it to work either.
So it seems like HTC have made their widgets copy proof
But if anyone knows a way to get around this, please let me know
Hi, I'm new to Android, I would like to ask one thing. I would like to record phone this launcher - is downloaded from this site:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=769138
http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/824/thumbtalllgoptimuszlaun.png/
I downloaded home selector and LG Home. Both *. apk I copied to the phone and tried to install from phone. Home selector is installed - no error, but when I install LG home it´s write the message "This is a system application. The correction you want to replace it? All previous user data will be saved." Click on OK, I installed, being installed and then "Application not installed".
I have no root and I have the original ROM V10i.
How can I, please, this launcher to get Black, preferably with native widgets?
Thank you very much for your help.
Sorry for my english, czech looser

well you need root if it is recognised as system app. then you need a file manager to navigate to system folder amd manually copy the file inside system/apps. then reboot and it should work. in case it doesn't then you need to go to system/apps again and click on it so it asks you to install. it should if you have rooted propperly. but why on earth would you want that launcher. it is old, not as good as thw ob stock and not even sure if it scales to ob screen resollution as optimus one has half screen res than ob. there are many launchers out there that are faster and more beautifull like go launcher or launcher360...

Hi there.
I have V20a installed on my LGO4X and also BL unlocked and rooted. I would like to add new fonts to my phone. I tried to copy some *.ttf's over /system/fonts and changed theirs permissions like the other font files. That doesn't work, can't see any new options from Settings->Display->Font type. I did reboot too. Didn't try to overwrite stock font, but if other method exists I would prefer to keep original ones. Also tried some apps from google play with no luck.
Anyone know how to do that?
You can replace the ones that are shown in the settings - display - fonts with your fonts. Restart system, do there and activate. Should do the trick. Make sure you place right permissions when you replace fonts or you will end up in boot loop.. no joke.. happened to me on my old phone.

I've been trying overwrite original files and at the end of all my phone finished as a piece of sh*t... I was forced to reinstall V20a. Maybe I just forgot to change permissions.
I tried to install fonts via "font installer". It worked on 4.0.3, but now... on 4.1.2, V20_A ... *bricked*

EDIT: rom toolbox worked! Thanks gordon0001

may be you did not change permission in the .apk..while you re in root explorer, push continiously on the .apk file until it shows permissions.then tick in the first vertical row all three boxes and in the second vertical row only tick the first box,all other boxes let them empty and reboot.shoul work this way.
if you already done this ignore my post:good:

but ty for trying to help
Hi everyone, I am new to this forum so excuse me if this isn't the right section to post my problem.
so I tried to change the theme of my Samsung Galaxy Ace S5830 after I install a custom ROM in it, so I installed ROM toolbox Lite and I tried to change the phone's theme from there but it didn't work, after that I searched for some apps (I thought that my phone needed those apps to apply the themes from ROM Toolbox Lite) apps like : Theme chooser ,Theme changer, Theme manager and I kept rebooting each time I installed a theme thinking that what must be done so my phone can load it. but nothing changed, so after some searching on google I found a topic in this forum that has some APK files to choose from to change the phone's theme and it must replace Touchwiz30.apk in the System/app directory and give it the permission to write , read and read but I didn't find it with that exact name ,in my case it was called TouchSpaceWiz50.apk so I deleted it and went and tried to replace it with the one I've downloaded except I couldn't give it the permission and I got an error message that says I can't change some system files permissions.
so I ended up without the file TouchSpaceWiz50.apk in my System/app directory not to mention that I wasn't able to go to the home screen.
so I turned off the phone and on again only to find out that the phone is frozen on the boot animation screen, it doesn't keep rebooting just stuck at the boot animation that keeps playing.
I was able to fix this problem by re-installing the custom ROM from my SD-Card. but the main questions is why I wasn't able to change the theme via ROM Toolbox Lite when I have a custom Rom that includes ThemeChooser? and why the other apps didn't work as well? and is there another way to install themes? because I wasn't able to find any. and thanks in advance.
I am sorry if my post is so long I just wanted to explain what happened in details.
