That's quite an upgrade right there lol

Yes it is lol. Welcome to the N5 buddy. I did the same thing once I got mine. It came out of the box, plugged into PC and unlocked. Don't think I even booted it up stock once...
Wait, the N5 came with a stock ROM? Can't say I noticed
Welcome to the club mate, you're in good company here
That's a nice upgrade. I went though 4 phones in the same time, lol. I bet that big of a jump is a lot more noticeable than the incremental performance boosts I'm used to barely noticing.
With such a big upgrade, why would you not try out the stock ROM first!?!

Ya I ran stock up until a month ago.

Yes just swapped up to a 32gb one. Had a 16gb version a few months now, that one had the screen lifting problem but this one is perfect!
Actually had forgotten how great the Nexus 7 is as I've been having a bit of fun with a Galaxy Note 10.1.

You are not alone! I use my Nexus 7 for almost everything. Only 3 things I need now. 1. Y-cable. Will buy soon. 2. Ubuntu to get some bugs worked out. And finally.....3. The ability to dual boot. Ubuntu, installed next to Android? Hell yes. Thank you sir, may I have another?
I have from 3 days and I have completely forgotten to use my defy+
Love it!

:good: and I even like it with 4.2!
I love mine too! 4.2 not so much until Devs catch up and we have Recoveries that play nice with it. It also broke ability to use USB storage devices with it. I got it from playstore when it came out. It arrived the 2nd day after. 1st thing was unlock and root. Ran stock 4.1.2 until I put on a custom 4.2 (plain vanilla )rom. I previously had Galaxy Tab 7.0+. Very expensive and I thought I was getting the best. It was OK, but my 32Gb N7 beats it six ways from Sunday in smoothness, reliability. Also the GT7 had a proprietary charge and data port/cable. It was USB but you needed a converter cable for lots of stuff. The N7 is great out of the box but awesome!! when unlocked, rooted and rom'ed. Everything just seems to work better. Movies, music, email, calendar, notes, to do's games, You name it. Now if I could just make calls on it...oh, wait, with Google (Voice?) you can I am told!
Problem with 4.2 is it messed up the sd card file partitions so that I can no longer make Nandroid back-ups. I sure it will be fixed in a few days. Meanwhile, I am enjoying the crap out of this thing.
Loved it since I bought it. Eyeing the N73G for the holidays, then the Mrs. Gets the 16.

I feel exactly the same, not perfect but it's by far the most practical gadget I've ever owned. The iPad and S3 hadly get a look in these days.

Loving my nexus 7 as well. As a apple fanboy the nexus really has impressed me. The only thing I don't love about the nexus (android problem i guess) is that none of the browsers can compare to the Safari-browser found in the ios echo system. Sluggish scrolling, accidently clicking links when scrolling never happens to me on my ipad or iphone. Google, tweak the chrome-browser and my apple fanboy days might be over.

Hi and Happy New Year!
Where did you buy it? How's delivery in Phnom Penh? Just got here 2 months ago and need to get my hand on this device, but the Play Store says I cannot purchase phones here?!
Anyone know if it can be bought in a local shop? I've checked Sokly and Hakse shops, they don't have it.
Brought mine from the USA. Would be surprised to see them in the shops here anytime soon.

Hey guys, this is a general thread for Dutch N4 users to discuss N4 related stuff. Like where you got the phone and what revision and production date/location it is, xperiences with network operators and data plans, any issues and anything else like what rom/kernel you use and anything else you want to discuss/share. Enjoy (your phone)
I went to the UK last friday and thought by myself, since i'm here, why not buy a Nexus 4? So I did, came home, wanted to boot this thing up and it didn't boot at all, the only thing it did was a red flashing light.. So, I plugged it in my computer to charge.., after a full night connected, still nothing, it didn't charge at all. And since the wallcharger from UK isn't compatibel in Europe I couldn't charge it with my wall charger.
Well, maybe the xda guys can help me with this problem,, so I made a new thread. It didn't took long untill I got response, someone said to charge it with the wall charger, but that wasn't possible obv.. But, ohh wait, maybe I can find a converter. So I went to Mediamarkt and there I bought this converter, went back home and tried it. The red light started to flash again. Thought by myself, ohh noooo, not again... Then I pressed power + volume down and suddenly it came to life. In bootloader I selected "power off" and it started charging, finally! And now it's running the latest SaberMOD without any problems and fully charged
The version I got is the 212K rev.11, cpu binning is Fast. No strange things on the phone, everything looks perfect. The only thing is the rattle from the camera, but it's only noticeable when you shake the phone, but i'm not worrying to much since almost all my phones had this (issue?).
I had to rma mine got it from the uk. I now have a 303k

Got mine last week. From Ibood. I wanted to drive to Germany to buy one, but i'd rather have Dutch warranty than the German one. Don't want to drive 2 hours for a repair.
Also got a 303k model. I came from a Nokia N900 so the difference is huge. I immediately rooted an unlocked the bootloader. Installed Paranoid Android today and the Trinity Kernel. Doesn't feel like a huge difference compared to the stock ROM/Kernel but has some cool extra's to make my classmates jealous.
Dutch
Why aren't we talking Dutch in the Dutch thread xd haha
Tried that once and got a warning for it.
I bought mine from the mediamarkt in Germany. Very easy, they just sent it to me. And you get mediamarkt warranty. Ralf is an hero! Its now officially available here, so warranty issues can be solved by LG itself.

I got mine from Belsimpel. Their customer service is great, they sent me a replacement charger within a day. Also I tried to register my decive on LGE's Dutch site, unfortunately the Nexus 4 is not stated there. I hope we can rely directly on LGE rather then third parties.
Swiped from my Mako #NexusSwag
Got mine a couple of weeks ago from the Saturn in Kleve.
Put some gadgetsschield protectors over the front and back.
It dident do much good, cause the back cracked after a week.
Today i received the carbon skin from dbrand and it covers the back nicely.
Im running PA with the trinity kernel.
Batery live is great zo far.

Got mine about 4 months ago from someone who bought it in Germany and was wanting to sell it afterwards. It was only a 15 min drive so I considered myself very lucky . Coming from a Galaxy Ace truely made it an astonishing experience and I'm still enjoying every second using my phone. It's a rev 11 with slight speaker crackling, good battery life, but the Whatsapp delay is driving me nuts.

The latest nexus is always a good choice because you get support from Google for a good while and they're easy to resell.
I've had mine for a few months now and when you compare the cost to hardware/software combo of the N4 to any other phone, the N4 wins hands down.
Sure if your budget was unlimited I'd probably go INA different direction (HTC One).
The good thing about the Nexus line is that they hold their value. If you chose to buy a used one now, you can probably sell it when the N5 comes out and not take a significant lose.
My only gripe with the N4 is the camera. My wife's S3 takes better pictures, otherwise its an awesome phone. What device will you be coming from?
Sent from my Nexus 4 using xda premium
I go through Android phones like you wouldn't believe, I've had over 10 in the past 3 years. The Nexus 4 is the best I've ever used and the phone I've stuck with longest. I got one at release and sold it a couple of months ago to try an Xperia Z, sold the XZ after a few weeks and went back to the N4, it's that good.
Ive also had way to many Android handset's over the past 2 years, and even an Iphone 5.
I also had an N4 on release day too and sold that for the iphone.
Sold the iphone to go back to the Nexus 4.:good:
Its by far the best and purest Android phone I have ever used.
I love it so much, I now have a Nexus S as my work phone and a Nexus 10 tablet.

This because it depends a lot on where you are and the stock levels as well...
Some people have a great experience but don't necessarily need to go on a forum to shout about it...

I don't think it's as big of an issue as you perceive it to be. I think the majority of people who ordered got their phone in a reasonable time. But LG can only crank these things out so fast, once Google's warehouse runs out, some unlucky people are gonna wind up waiting for the next shipload to come in. That's life...
Please use one of the existing shipping/ordering threads for this discussion
