So I picked this case up a week ago and put it through it's paces so I thought I would share my my experience with it.
Pros:
- Very slim. Adds almost no thickness to the phone
- Offers good scratch protection for the back and the lens of the phone
- Crystal clear
- Offers a bit more grip.
Cons:
- The fit is a little off. When the case is on, there's a little bit of play up and down and every once in a while, you can feel the sides of the case give when you're gripping the phone suggesting that the fitment on the side is a little off.
- Rough edges. I have a tempered glass screen protector on the phone and it helps makes the front of the phone flush with the edges of the case. Even with this, the edges of the case are sharp. The sides aren't particularly noticeable but the cutout for the camera near the top of the phone becomes very apparent when using the phone landscape. MSRP for this case is $25 dollars and at that price range, I believe rounding the edges to make the case feel a little nicer in your hands is not an absurd expectation.
Overall I really like the case. The fitment issues isn't big enough to affect the performance of the case. It snaps on strong and stays on. The fact that there's a bit of flexing annoys me, that's all. My biggest gripe with the case has to be the rough edges. If you could overlook that, this case is a definite winner if you're looking for a sleek clear case to show off and protect the beautiful aluminum finish of the M8.

I agree it's not as "snug" as other Barely There cases I've had in the past. I wish they would have covered the top and bottom some what though.
I've upgraded now to the Naked Tough which is essentially the Barely There but with a TPU bumper. In fact if the Barely There was just like the hard section of the Naked Tough, it would be perfect.

Thanks for the review. I used to love the Barely There cases, but as you mentioned, the edges are kind of rough and sharp. Too bad.
I agree that the edges are a little on the rough side but my case has no play in it at all. Its almost to tight, which I guess is good expect for when I've had to remove it. I ordered mine from amazon so maybe with it sitting in storage it shrunk?
This has been the best slim case I have found. I only use the case for light protection and grip mostly. not really for protection.

Yeah that's the trade off with these slim cases. You're getting pretty much zero drop protection and only minor cosmetic damage protection. I could deal without drop protection if only the Barely There covered the top and bottom, I'd be happy with just all round cosmetic damage protection from it. Ended up opting for its bigger brother the Naked Tough.

Just got mine. Fits like a glove, no play whatsoever, and the edges don't bother me a bit. I used this case on my S3, and was glad to see it available for this phone.

I also bought this case and was fully satisfied with it for a while, then the soft touch coating began to peel off. I guess it was my fault, I work in a hospital and clean my phones daily with alcohol. For a long time I've been using spigen ultra fit cases that are also soft touch, and never has the soft touch coating peeled off. On the barely there case it only lasted 3 weeks. Now I forcefully rinsed off almost all the coating. It still works, but it's slippery and looks awfull.

I ordered a Case-Mate Barely There clear too.
The fit is not very tight and the grip isn't so good like from the HTC Translucent Case.
It don't protect the top and bottom sides nor the plugs nor the buttons.
It's very thin and you can see the beautiful brushed metal back of your M8. :good:

I bought directly from the site of the seller.
I've been a user of this case since my last phone (HTC Evo LTE). The case did me really well on that phone and it was slim on form factor. Protector was also very good on the previous phone as I've dropped it couple times with the phone in the case. No damage were shown on the case or on the phone. Because of this, I decided that I would choose the same company again if I were to change phones.
This time around, I went with the Samsung Note 2 as an upgrade to my previous phone. The case wasn't announced when I got the phone, but soon after they decided to make the case. I bought it the second day it was announced through the owners site. Case arrived quickly and the quality is still superb. If you check this listing, there's a few photos that I posted which represented the case. When you lay the case flat with the phone inserted, it's basically the same thickness as the Evo LTE with the phone in a diztronic case. Adds very very minimal bulk which doesn't affect the usability.
The back of the case is a matte finish. This matte finish actually allows the user to grip the phone better. That's not just it, the finish also reduces all fingerprints and dust particles.
Phone cutouts are all perfect and aligned to the spot. Power button and volume buttons use a soft silicon touch. It's covered, but in no way does it affect the touch. I can still easily press those buttons and the phone would respond to my action.
Overall, great case! Price is right! Go for it!
Im pretty pleased with mine too even though I normally dont use tpu protectors. It has a really nice feel and the sides seem like they provide substantial protection. No real complaints from me. I know diztronic has a great reputation and this was my first case from them so im happy.

Im on the same boat!! I detest silicone and TPU cases as they are flimsy and stretchy, causing plenty of dusts to get trapped inside and scratch the device. But when I saw this case on Diztronic site I was very amazed so I ordered one. It arrived fairly fast despite the holiday seasons for US to Australia. Been using for 2 days and have to say, the best TPU case I've ever seen. The texture is very very nice, matte and really nice to touch and hold, raised lips to protect the screen, cover all the buttons (my favourite features), compact and thin enough but still have a decent protection from it. I'm very happy with this case, by far the best case I've got for Note 2 yet.
The only thing they should improve is to stick with matte texture all the way rather than having the raised lips/edges in glossy texture. And the seams could use some clean up.
Perhaps. I kinda like the edges with the smooth finish. Feels good when I need to stretch fingers across the whole phone.
One other plus I noticed is it seems to not get stretched easy. As I said this is my first Diztronic case so I'm sure others already know, but I've taken it on and off about 5 times and it still fits tight.

I think it's pretty firm on my end. I don't seem to loose control of it when it's in my hand.
I just want to pipe in and say I really like the Diztronic tpu case on my note 2. I used their cases on my Galaxy Nexus and was very happy. They add very little weight and size to the phone, yet I feel like my phone has pretty decent protection. My Galaxy Nexus still looks brand new, even though I dropped it a few times. I've dropped my note 2 one time and it still looks perfect.

Its not as durable as an iphone I would say. If it had real metal for the bezel you could go by without a case. The metallic bezel scratches easily on this one.

I've never read a post regarding a scratched camera glass, however the screen will most certainly scratch and it WILL shatter on impact, that much is clear from these forums.

I would have to politely disagree. The iPhone has a poor design in terms of durability. The screen (glass) goes all the way to the edge of the phone, meaning its corner is exposed. This is a bad thing because no matter how durable glass is, a simple hit in its corner will surely crack it.
For example You can take a hammer to a shower door and give it a slight smack on its surface without breaking. However, give it a slight wack on its corner and the WHOLE thing will shatter. This explains how glass as durable as gorilla glass is capable of cracking.

Completely disagree. As another poster said, iphones shatter way more thanks to the edges of the glass being highly exposed to impacts.
But as to the OP's questions, why would you NOT protect such an expensive investment?

Oh I should have stated that by DURABLE I meant can withstand everyday wear and tear. For concern of droppage, youd want cases protecting both phones.

Do you like playing Russian roulette? Unless you have insurance plan with your carrier or somewhere else ($10 a month or something like SqTd for $100, and deductible which could end up being anywhere $100-$200), I would invest in a decent $20-$40 case.
Plenty of posts in this and other forums about people shattering the glass when dropped even with tpu case or other slim plastic cases. Battery door scratch or camera glass scratch will be your least worries when you drop your phone and see a spider web going across your screen from the corner. If you want just additional grip, slim case will do it. But for drop protection you need something beefier with a bumper/lip for protection.

Either of those would be fine. Check out link in my signature for all the cases I have tested/reviewed in this forum. Since it sounds like you don't want too much bulk, for a basic everyday use Tough would be an excellent choice with SURFACE being right behind it. If you are more paranoid and will be using your phone outdoors - UAG is great. If you doing heavy duty construction work outside, CONVERT or Defender will do it. If you want to make bling-bling statement, go with aluminum bumper and fancy carbon fiber battery cover
I'm using two cases now: a UAG for when I'm at work and a Seido Snap case as a general walking around case. Both cases allow me to hide an RFID card in them for work access.
The phone itself is too slippery NOT to be in a case.
I don't know how you guys are saying this phone is very slippery. Its pretty slick with no case. The matte cases make it more smooth and slippery iMO

I strongly recommend you the Samsung Protective Cover +.I think you can find it in online shops from Poland ,or stores like Orange ,Vodafone and so on.I bought it from an online shop from Romania.It's pretty cheap.Fits very well ,had it for 3 months It adds the right amount of bulk.It's like 10,3 mm I think.It has raised borders around the screen ,so if it falls,it won't touch the screen.The back is glossy ,but the sides are offering a great grip
Also doesn't affect S Pen ,NFC ,flash or something else.There are 3 colors available:Black White and Pink.Any of these colors has white borders.Do a google search and you'll see.Ah,forgot to mention:I dropped it one time with the case on,the only thing that happened is that the S Pen went flying.
I use an invisible shield and that's all. Unless you handle your phone without care, then a case isn't really necessary unless alcohol becomes part of the equation. I have dropped my phone with the flip cover on concrete, to see it slide down the road in pieces. It didn't break nor did it have any drop damage, but I feel if I had a case, the force would have been expelled through the screen.
Samsung protcrive cover + interested me. It is nice. Have rubber raised above screen and is cheaper than others.
Anyone care to share his opinion?

It was discussed as well before, rubber bumper is good, but the back part will scratch like hell. That was #1 complain about it. Also if you buy it online beware of CH cheap knockoffs.
My camera lens actually scratched somehow. Might have been when I accidentally put it in a pocket with my keys but I have never dropped it without a case on.

You are most certainly the exception and should consider yourself lucky... This forum is riddled with people who cracked their screen from minimal falls even while having a case on it.

The front has a slight lip that keeps the screen safe when placed face down. The look is optically clear and flawless, it really shows off the aluminum. The feel is smooth and "sticky". This case won't be slipping out of your hand anytime soon. Pair this with a Spigen screen protector (I did) and your investment is safe.

Just ordered one of those.
Got it from an Amazon seller with great feedback. Hopefully it is legit.
It's about 1/8" thick but it doesn't add that much size to the phone, it's already a heavy phone to begin with. I know there are thinner cases out there but for me, it's a good trade off for the quality and the protection it affords.

Their loss in my case. I didn't have time to wait with my job so I had to move to another maker. I really wanted a Spigen too. Glad to see its working for ya. Maybe on my next phone I'll give them a shot...
My case came in today as well. Love the look and this phone is phone is no longer slippery. Bestcase so far.
I have one of these on the way as well. I like that it's clear so I can still show off the beautiful gunmetal grey finish.

I went to order my Spigen a week or so ago (I had posted about them in this forum). When I tried to order from my wishlist on Amazon it said someone already ordered me two. I was thinking my Dad. He says he didn't. I am hoping it comes today, and it was not an amazon glitch. LOL.
In case anyone didn't know they seem to be back up on the site (No longer saying mid- April)
I just received mine.
Definitely a *very* Spigen product, consistent with their design philosophy.
Let's start with the con:
• Edges are rather sharp, it lacks that rounded edges. As a result, it feels like a fair bit of bulk is added.
And the pros:
• The TPU material is definitely the best out there; about 4-5x thicker on the back side than the average TPU cases, and about 2x thicker around the sides/bezel/lip.
• Fairly decent lay on the table on the front face, leaving an ample clearance between the screen and table surface if you're laying it screen facing down.
• Audio port and USB port have their own cut-outs, and they're nice and have ample enough opening for most (respective) accessories.
• Volume buttons and power buttons are covered, and they have a very satisfying tactile feel when pressed.
• Clear material, really shows the true colour of the M8's Gunmetal Grey. Some TPU cases cloudy clarity; but not the case with Spigen's. EDIT: Someone mentioned a tint of yellow of the rubber; I noticed it too; but I believe it heavily depends on the kind of light that hits the TPU material.
• Improves tact; texture on the TPU material adds grip.
Things to watch out for:
• As like most clear TPU, there might be discoloration overtime. We'll see how the Spigen's Ultra Fit Capsule fares in the long run.
• Spigen's other Ultra Fit products come with a screen protector. Wouldn't hurt for Spigen to bundle the Ultra Fit capsule with a screen protector.
Overall, I'm pretty happy with the purchase! Spigen never disappoints. But having said that, I wish they'd curve the edges slightly.
7.5/10 (that sharp edges really hurt the score).
My case came today as well, and it looks very sturdy. I hope the TPU doesn't turn yellow though! A good case for everyday use.

Red and Gold
Heres the red and the gold on gunmetal. If the red looks a little pinkish its because it is. I didn't see it on OP's photos because he doesn't have a picture from that particular angle but mine are from LoveMei and has the words on the left side of the frame. It feels like the lettering is debossed so I think it might be acid etched. Kinda tacky and might be an issue with some of you.
How do these bumpers feel in the hand? Does it feel grippier or more slick?
What would you say are the protective qualities of the case? Or is it purely aesthetic?

Its anodized aluminum, so it feels like about the same grippiness as stock. To me it feels like its mostly aesthetic, the only thing i see it protecting is the machined edge between the sides and the screen, which i probably put a few scratches in to while putting the bumper on so...mostly aesthetic.
How much does it affect the signal with WiFi or your data?

Yea I would like to know. I had one on the s4.. I noticed a 1 bar drop In WiFi and a 2-3 bar drop in signal

It shouldn't effect it at all. The "metal" bumper just surrounds more metal where it wouldn't receive those signals anyway.

Hi,
Does anyone know if this kind of metal bumper would protect the phone from drops ? From what i see on the pictures it is really thin, when the phone it put on a table does the back of the phone has a contact with it or only the bumper ?

Btw the devilcase bumper should be release for HTC One M8 on June.
Mainly the side. If your phone drops and lands flat on its back, it would still get scratched. There is not much protection to the back and some on the front glass. You should with a full case if that's what you need. The side of my phone got scratched pretty easily when I dropped it one time. I didnt go with a full case because that would defeat the purpose of having an all aluminum body.

Yes that's also my point, i'm trying to see if there is a case that would allow to keep the all aluminium body and also provide some protection too, hard choice ...
Side protection is pretty good. The case fits snug. I'm not worried about that at all.
How does the edge feel? I'm thinking of getting one like this just because I'm starting to dislike the rounded, soft edges of the phone when it's naked. Is it a nice corner ala iphone 5 or is it about as round as stock?
Also does it interfere much with the volume rocker?
i used the devil bumper case !
it needs 4 screws so i kinda feel secure,
but the case im using barely have any kind of protection to the device although it increases its beauty
If you sand the tapered sides of bumper case it will look more premium, I did it with my M7's bumper case.

My impression is that it's an amazing case. Fits great and the cloth backing is very unique. I love the feel of it. I can't use all the time because I'm in medical field and feel like it'll be a magnet for bacteria but otherwise I love the look and feel of it. Also I don't think it'll work good with tempered glass screen protectors because the lip around the screen feelz pretty tight.

I like the case, but it does push on the glass screen protector. My screen protector placement was off by about 0.05mm towards the right, and that may be contributing towards the problem. Since I'm usually unlocking the phone with the fingerprint reader, I don't end up using those buttons much anyways.

Sad, the $35 Adopted case seems to be the only available design forward case. I think all the cases on Amazon look like cheap plastic with a giant logo endorsing the cheap plastic. I'm a fan of a naked device, but acknowledge that's not always the safest for the device. Maybe in time, we will see a balance between price, function, and design from somebody. In the interim, the quartz Adopted case is in the running for me. I am also in healthcare, but tend to only handle my phone after I am washed up and keep the phone in a non-patient care area. With that said, the fabric on the back would be difficult to clean.

No photos, but I have it and like it. The back fabric is very soft & smooth, a cross between felt and well-worn jeans. So far the geometric print and "nexus" print lettering is holding up. There's a nice solid rubber bumper around the camera, so no worries about damaging it. Fit on the front is essentially 95% perfect with a Pleson screen protector... basically there's a hair's width of movement on the edges if I push hard when the case slips up over the protector.

Same experience here. Generally good, just little quibbles like this. My initial reaction was that it felt like a cheap piece of carpeted rubber from the '70s, but it's growing on me. I also wonder how much disgusting filth is going to accumulate in the microfiber over time... hopefully it's not too absorbent.
I love the feel of it but my only gripe would be the lip over the front of the hugs the screen I bit too much and a bit too tight. Dust and pocket lint gets caught in between the screen and lip way too easily. Making my otherwise perfect phone look dirty. I had to take it off because of that. Still contemplating putting it back on because the back is awesome. I'm warming up to the bare phone now though.

I had the same problem and it drove me crazy. Oddly enough, the problem seemed to go away completely after I put a TGSP on.

Tempered Glass Screen Protector.
Does anyone have or tried the folio version of the case? Not sure which one I should get, but when a flip case is made well i usually prefer them to standard ones.
i have the carbon case (the one without the flip cover) for my carbon 5X and I love it. I am confident that it would protect the device from most standard drops and whatnot. I also have a glass screen protector on mine and it is a bit of a tight fit but it still works. The cloth on the back is capable of getting wet without it ruining it, at least a few times anyway. I occasionally take an antibacterial wipe to my devices and the same goes for the case. It definitely absorbs the liquid but after a 20 minute air dry it's dry and ready to go again. still looks and feels just like the day I bought it. There are thinner cases out there but they offer less protection.
Does nexus 5x spigen 9h protector fits with original adopted nexus case?
If they don't fit together, do you have any recommendation for case that looks like adopted with equal or better quality and protection ?
And is there better screen protector than spigen 9h?
does anyone have a contact email for customer services at the google store? I want the folio case in quartz but it's out of stock at the moment. Need to know when it will be back in stock. In the mean time i have a Ringke slim case for protection.
