Hello guys.
Anybody helps me out there about black screen issue when FC?
I searched but I couldn't find a thread about this problem.
There are a lot about black screen issue, but this is different.
#######################################################
While on odexed JB, there is no problem.
I can see FC dialog window when an app FCs.
#######################################################
But when I deodex JB, I can not see FC dialog window.
Instead I9070 has no response until I boot again.
#######################################################
My Galaxy S Advance (I9070) goes to black screen while an app FCs.
Buttons do not response, only power button responses, it only makes lights on and statusbar visible.
#######################################################
BTW MusicPlayer FCs after deodexing.
I use frapeti's deodexed apps and frameworks.
Especially XXLQE.
#######################################################
Thanks in advance.

You did not tell what base firmware you are using. Did you wipe cache and dalvik cache?
P.S. Make sure that deodex zip is not corrupted by bad download, maybe some file is missing. Unpack it on PC, not just open - extract files and see if there is no error.
Me too.....
Yes even I face the problem. Screen goes black and no response. There is no FC notification/message. I have to restart device.
I observed the same bug on XXLQE , XXLQL , DDULP8 and now the latest unbranded UBLPK firmwares. It is always found on deodexed ROMs. I never use odexed stock roms , immediately after flashing via odin i deodex it. And this is the problem with all aforementioned ROMs. Need a reason, not necessarily a solution.
I use latest CoCore 9.8 TWRP kernel. And any version I use bug remains.
EDIT:
I tried flashing untouched deodex zip files of all ROMs (CREDIT : @bobfrantic). I encounter same problem. Also I tried unzipping the deodex zip file and bebloating but problem persists. Then I moved all apks form preload folder to system/app folder and removed symlinks in updater-script file. ROMs flashed with no issues but again no FC message. I freezes forever. Need to restart.
Thanks in Advance.

Using XXLQE firmware.
I did factory reset, cache wipe, dalvik cache wipe.
Unpacked zip with no problem, themed apps, redownloaded zip.
Downgraded to GB, upgraded to JB.
Tried other firmwares.
Rooted, not rooted.
And tried many times.
Everytime it is same result.
Only MusicPlayer FCs when selecting Exit, not other apps FC.
And some downloaded apps FCs and make I9070 frozen.

When we debloat ROMs there are still some services and apps left that need the deleted files. Sometimes even systemui and framework apps need some of the bloat apps. So even during normal use we encounter FCs. It is normal. But freezing like hell is abnormal and so is not displaying FC msg. I regularly flash CM11, AOSP, LiquidSmooth and other custom ROMs to go through improvements and eventually return to stock ROM. So wiping dalvik and cache is something I do about 100 times a week. But I still face same FC freeze bug on stock ROM. Flashing from scratch will not help as I am conviced this is due to deodexing the stock ROM.

FCs are ok but you mean that freezing and not displaying dialog window are because of deodexing?
I remember using XXLQ4 deodexed without any problem. Maybe that apks are not deodexed well somehow...

OK. I will give a try to XXLQ4 then. And will report.
Anybody else using XXLQ4 without problems?
#############################################
It is now OK guys.
There was an error with my XXLQE firmware.
I think it was corrupted.
#############################################
I downloaded XXLQE firmware again.
There was no freezing while FCs.
But frapeti's XXLQE deodexed MusicPlayer FCs still.
#############################################
Then I tried with two different firmwares.
I deodexed them with dsixda's kitchen and nothing FCd.
Also there was no freezing.
Regards.

I recently flashed the latest version of MIUI, which is v6(tried up to v6.13.1 as well) and every time I try calling someone, the phone hangs for a few seconds, then reboots back to the MIUI loading.
what's wrong? up to version 5.31 the rom worked just fine and I couldn't find anyone with a similar issue on the official post.
please help?
phone in question is i9000, note that SMS and incoming calls work fine.
try this
goto recovery and wipe
1) system
2) data
3) cache
4) datadata
now flash the rom and reboot.

Already did that.. also tried older versions but the problem persists.
I am now on cm7 and it's working fine but I really prefer MIUI so I could really use the help!
Flash Froyo and try again
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA App
so I just flashed back to froyo and from there I flashed MIUI again(1.6.15) and the problem is still there!
maybe it's because of app issues? when I reset the phone back to factory and my MIUI is empty, it works fine. but as I install apps (bear in mind I tried only installing the essential apps that I really need) it seems to make the problem reappear.
what the?
what apps do you install ?
Hi,
I as of yet, am not going close to any ICS build till the issue gets solved by someone.
so I am experimenting with different gb roms. i was using checkrom v6 but didnt like it, so followed steps to install darkyrom/alliancerom extreme edition. i followed the steps as I was told to install allianceota and flash the rom through there. it didnt work. so instead using cmw i flashed through recovery, it did flash but there no root.
so now, i reflashed a stock la6 rooted rom from here; http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1535025
this went smoothly with no problems, so i installed allianceota as normal, this time when i try to flash the following messages come up:
Installing Multi-CSC
Can't access to '/system/CSC/KOR/system/'
Successfully applied multi CSC"
and then it gives me the option to reboot, wipe cache and a few other options, not full recovery mode.
shall i just reflash the rom through recovery, or am I doing something wrong? and does the slight error above mean I have a problem with my note?
cheers in advance.
Let me just say that almost every ICS ROM out there now has disabled the MMC_CAP_ERASE code in the kernel that activates the eMMc bug and bricks your phone. If you want stock ICS, you can use SpeedMod or Franco kernels. If you want AOKP, there is that now. If you want CM9, there's a bunch of variations plus the official CM9 nightly. If you read through the OP and stickies, you will be okay.
Are you on stock recovery still? It sounds like it from the error you are getting. Try flashing CWM recovery and installing the GB rom with that. Follow Drketan's thread in Android Development.
hmmm, so would you advise me to use ics? is it much better? i dont want to use cm9 builds as i need the spen apps and so on. i have looked into kingdroid or alba.
I'll have to think hard about this. i may give it a shot soon though..
oh and btw, I fixed the problem, yep it was to do with cwm it wasn't installed with the stock rooted rom. as for allianceota, it still didnt flash the rom, i had to flash the rom through cwm manually.
cheers anyhow.

I love ICS a lot more than GB. If you want to use stock ICS, I would just use Franco or Speedmod kernels with it and be safe. Read both of their forums and decide what you want to do.
I had the same problem with rom deodex i had flash with odin 1.85 firmware gingerbread here ; http://www.hotfile.com/dl/152168378/f76281c/N7000XXLC1_N7000OXXLB3_ATO.zip.html... then i made wipe cache and cache dalvick .
I've just flashed AlBa repack latest one on xxlq2, I did it by following the steps,
I thought i had broken my phone, because when the flashing finished and i was rebooting, at the beginning when it welcome to galaxy note n7000 and then goes to the bootup video, it restarted that several times, then after like a few minutes it loaded the homescreen and startup.

I have a Galaxy S (I9000B) and a Tab (P1000L), S has CM10 and Tab CM10.1. When I was upgrading my Tab from CM10 to CM10.1, I've forgot to wipe data/factory reset, and when it was done, I've noticed that my background was the same, and all the apps where there. Everything is working fine.
And now the question, upgrading my phone from CM10 to CM10.1 (the most recent version available) do I really need to wipe anything?
It is recommended to do all 3 wipes and to be sure to get a clean and propper ROM, format system too. But you can try it without, if something is not running propperly, the worst case will be that you have to flash it again and then with all wipes. Or if you stuck on bootloop with lost recovery, then you have to fireup odin...
BTW gapps were also changed, so for CM10.1 its also recommended to flash the latest gapps.

Well, I tried to flash CM10.1, but showed up a error, don't know why. I figured it out that it was my kernel, it was made for 4.1 and not 4.2. So I just downloaded a 4.2 kernel, flashed and right next I've flashed the CM10.1. I can't tell that it is working, I'm locked in the lockscreen (on CM10 it was a 5x5 pattern and now is a 3x3). But I can see my wallpaper is the same
Did you made a nandroid backup before flashing the new JB?
Then i would suggest to restore to latest backuped ICS version and disable your lockscreen pattern. Then reflash the new rom again.
Hope that this will work for you.

As far as I can tell it was, on CM10. Maybe CM10.1 disabled it.
I've tried to rollback to CM10, but I got stuck on the bootanimation. I think I'll have to wipe everything...
perhaps you can try it with flashing an ics kernel via odin in advance.
Semaphore has some tar versions for odin...but i dont have the link for the moment...if you want i can search

i have recently installed remICS-jb - 4.2.1 rom on my captivate .. and m loving this rom. but the thing is, it doesnt come with google play store installed.. so yes, i tried to flash Gapps but it gets stuck into bootloop . so i had to clean install the rom again (factory reset, wipe, install) ...
i installed many playstore.apk (every version) but they just start and then force closes (no dialouge is shown... it just closes itself after like 2 seconds) . i even copied the playstore.apk in /system/apps but that didn't help. i even rebooted many times after installing the apk.
So, finally i figured the only way left is to flash it via CWM . is there any google android market.zip file to flash via CWM ? if not, please give alternate ways.

Grab their specific Gapps and flash them in recovery.
Oh my Glob...
After visitng service - audio now works fine :victory: - so there was a high time to bring everyting back to normal, which is Kitkat Custom ROM and other stuffs.
So this time I decided to go with CarbonROM 4.4.4.
Eveything was fine, until I restored some apps via TitaniumBackup, and then flashed Tegra4Bin. The system was working on ART. After reboot - nothing works. Apps crash, and when I go into setting - after selecting something from the list - settings crash as well.
think there's a problem with ART and Tegra4Bin - all apps were compiled for different drivers than are now on the phone. How can I fix this? Is there a way to go back to Dalvik? I can't get to developer options as well, so maybe there's a way to change runtime via PC then phone is connected? <- nope nope nope
OK, I managed to get into developer setting via notification about USB debbuging, but still - apps crash. I've also noticed that they can be launched 2-3 second after reboot.
I got to NovaLauncher and then when I try to open any app here, there is only a notification - "app is not installed"
Can I clear apps cache with the option "clear cache" in recovery? I wonder if it only clears apps cache or something more?
EDIT
Ok, nevermind anymore, I did factory reset and reinstalled everything :3
EDIT2 CONCLUSION
There was something with gapps. It seems like CarbonROM has gapps included, so installing another pack was causing crashes. But when I first installed CarbonROM, I also flashed gapps and everything was fine. Well...<--- bull**** :x
Dont think carbon can have gapps included in rom since it is against XDA rules.

I guess that it isn't the cause of this afterall. And also it surely doesn't have gapps included, it's just "wipe cache" and "wipe data/factory reset" don't delete everything x) it just resets all the data so new ROM can be flashed... am I right?
I alwayse perform full wipe : system and data then catche then dalvik then format system manualy then format /data never had any problems like you described.
Where are all those options in CWM 6.0.4.4 ? If they are there, then I'll definitely find them
EDIT Ok, done ^.^ Thanks for the hint ;]
They are all there some on firat page some in advanced manu and some in second folder from bottom.
I'm tired.... I happened again, which is the third time x.x I don't know if it's because of ROM, or kernel or whatever else... Beanstalk didn't have this issue, but I don't want to accuse CarbonROM of this if I'm not sure if it's ROM's fault
Uh, sorry for double-posting but it happened again and this time it was on Beanstalk 4.4.4 !
I'm really confused... Maybe iodak 9.95 really doesn't work well with 4.4.4 ROMs?

Heck, even my system UI crashes in a loop in official CM11 when I'm on ART.
For some reason, ART causes so many crashes/random restarts and my phone keeps wiping dalvik cache during these restarts.
Stay on dalvik until it becomes more stable.
@UP
I'm on Dalvik since it happend the second time.
I left the phone without battery for the entire night - like it would somehow help. Either way - when I turned it on and got to system the first thing I've done was deleting COMODO Mobile - I noticed that when this app launched after restart, everything began to crash. And guess what?
It seems fine now...

How do I get proper logs?
Anyway, I also noticed that all my gapps were deleted and probably thanks to this system started to work properly. COMODO wasn't the source of issues. So I am almost sure that it was something with gapps for android 4.4.4 - I'll try to flash different gapps or just downgrade to 4.4.2 where everything worked just perfect
I downloaded new Gapps for 4.4.4, changed ROM to official CM11 and today it happened again.
I can't do factory reset - too much data to be lost.
I can't open any app - only error "app is not installed"
Trying to get to any setting in setting menu cause crash.
I can only open apps in 5 seconds, then everything is fudging up.
Is there a way to delete apps from CWM? Or somehow via USB from PC?
