Google search chime is TOO loud over bluetooth - AT&T Galaxy Note 3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I'm having an issue with Google Now and my Note 3. When I have my bluetooth headset and hit the button it brings up Google search and I can ask it to call someone, etc. The problem is that the initial chime Google makes is VERY loud, to the point where it may be hurting my ear. The rest of the volume is just fine, phone calls are not too loud, system sounds, ringer, etc are just fine. I've tried this with 2 bluetooth headsets and have the same results.
Does anyone know if I can adjust or better yet just eliminate that chime?

Wow, no one else has this issue? I've had this happen with 3 different android phones and 2 different bluetooth headsets.

I don't have the issue. I'm using the turtle beach xp510 headset. Maybe try running viper4android and setup your Bluetooth audio through that.

Thanks, I took a peek at that before but had no idea which setting would apply to the BT headset. There is so much you can adjust in that program it's easy to get lost.

Help using bluetooth headset with xperia x1

Hi, i have spent some time searching now and since i couldn't find this anywhere i decided to post here, hope someone can help me.
Recently, i bought the official sony playstation 3 bluetooth headset (http://www.us.playstation.com/PS3/Accessories/SCPH-98095) and i have connected it to my xperia x1 through bluetooth (running with itje's touch-it xperience v13.2), the problem is, it only outputs sound for the voice calls, i can't listen to music on it or the normal phone sounds. I know it would be mono sound and not high quality, but i would like to listen to the sound anyway sometimes because its better then leaving it silent.
i have tried in the bluetooth configuration window, clicking in advanced, editing the wireless device profile, thre it was marked hands-free, i clicked refresh and headset appeared, i marked it, then the headset disconnects. when i reconnect it, it auto demarks headset, or it doesnt connect.
I have looked around to see if it was the bluetooth headset problem, but i have not seen anyone else complaining about this or even mentioning it can't play the phone sounds (just some complains about the ps3 sounds not outputing but thats the ps3 fault), and i have also searched to see if it is x1s fault but haven't managed to find an answer as well, so if anyone can plz help i would really appreciate it. Thanks.
thats pretty much because its no BUG.
what u want is a a2dp headset. something tells me that the ps3 headset doesn has this feature. normal headset just route voice calls while a2dp headset route everything.
actually, i didnt use the word bug because i though that might be the case
it has the headset and handsfree profile, not a2dp, but what i wasnt sure if it really needed to have de a2dp profile to output normal sounds, from what i've read it seems it is needed to output stereo high quality sounds, but just sounds with low quality would work for me, thats why im asking, i though the headset profile would be enough for that.
so if i get your message right, unless it has specifically the a2dp profile, there is no other way of making the sound output on the headset, low or high quality?
now i know there might be a way to make it work.
i was listening to some music today using the music player that comes with touchflo 3d, then i pressed the talk button of my bluetooth headset to issue a voice command (with the microsoft voice command program), then the music started playing in my headset while it was waiting for the voice command, once it got the command the music went back to the phone.
Does anyone know any way to make my headset keep playing the sounds, or could at least explain what happens when i press the talk button so i have an idea of where to look to see if find a way?
no one can help me with this? not any tip or a way to select a different output for audio or anything like that?
Also an issue with Audio Gateway
I have tested this issue on two seperate headsets, and so far can get the Xperia to work ONLY as hands free. Seperate phones sperate headsets. The other phone pushed audio thru to the headset whereas the X1 only routes calls.
I also cant find much of this on XDA or anywhere else?
Help?
Regards
i used an ad2p software downloaded from here when i had this issue with my lg ks20. But i havent the gut or im just lazy to try this app on the x1. Maybe u should give that ad2p software a try.

Bluetooth Audio??

I have searched everywhere. I can't seem to find the answer. Why can't we have simple bluetooth audio? I'm not talking A2DP or anything fancy. If we can have bluetooth audio while using the phone, why not for simple other things. I understand there are limitations with the bluetooth because HTC/Google rushed it to market. But again I can hear my phone calls, vary nicely actually. My busted old HTC Wizard had an app that would allow me to route the audio to the headset. I don't really care too much about the quality. I'd just like to hear YouTube and Visual Voicemail and stuff like that.
Umm, I pair my g1 with my headphones regularly.

I am totally with you on this one. I want to listen to my podcasts when driving to work, but I don't want to have to have a full stereo headset. All I want is to be able to use the bluetooth headset that I make calls with to listen to media on the phone.
Someone please help!
Exactly! I Don't want to carry around stereo headphones, wired or bluetooth. Or wear them either. I'd like just the option of routing all audio to my mono bluetooth hands free device.

bluetooth music

Im running precision 3.0 and I am able to hear my bluetooth calls via the headset but music only comes out the speaker of the phone. Anyone have any ideas? Cant workout and listen to music!!!

I'll take a stab at it. Bluetooth supports certain profiles. If you have a simple "Hands Free" headset, it may or may not produce music. I have Stereo BT headphones that function as a hands free headset (it also has a mic) as well as headphones for music. However I also have a low cost Motorola single ear loop and it only works for phone calls.
I think the type of headset you are looking for supports A2DP.
Or I might be completely wrong.

[Q] Any bluetooth settings/adjustments available?

I picked up a Vivid over the weekend and overall I'm thrilled. The only area that is lacking is BT quality when paired with my car stereo (Pioneer AVIC-Z110 updated to the Z130 firmware). Granted, these units have gotten bad reviews for their BT quality, HOWEVER, my old device worked well. I used to have an HTC "Pure" running Windows Mobile and got no complaints for call quality.
My wife now says that this phone is echoing really badly. I can't hear it on my end, all sounds well. When I disable BT and just call her directly from the handset, all is well.
Are there any tweaks or settings that can be changed in Android and on the Vivid specifically? I read about someone adjusting the "BT gain" before they paired their device, but I can't find such a setting.
Thanks,
-Brett.
+1 on this. My stereo has a Mic volume adjust that helps a little, but it seems to be bad when I'm on the highway. Though I've always had this problem with Android. my old windows 6.5 phones were just fine.
Another Solution
Instead of using BT for music from my phone, I just hit the Sirius/XM button on the sound system, or plug my iPod directly into the sound system. Of course, I had to buy a new vehicle to get this capability.
PS: The Vivid does work well via BT for hands-free phone calls, also built into the new vehicle.

I re-read my first post and realized I might not have been as clear as I could be. I'm speaking strictly about phone call quality, not BT audio streaming. I tried audio streaming once and it sounded OK, but that's not what I'm referring to here.
When talking on the phone using the Pioneer AVIC z110 as a BT headset the person that I'm calling reports a lot of echo on their end, to the point where it's almost unusable. Things sound mostly fine on my end.
So the question stands - are there any (hidden?) settings or adjustments that can be made on the Vivid, or in Android in general?
Thanks,
-Brett.
not to my knowledge, no adjustments. But if you're using your headset, have you used it on other phones without this problem? If there's an echo, it makes me think maybe the phone mic is active while it should be only the BT mic that is. Maybe try covering the phone mic with your thumb or something and ask the person on the other end if that does anything to take away the echo?
Yea I'm getting the same feedback about phone calls. Music quality is great except when I use navigation. My streak would lower music when it would speak instructions. My vivid doesn't.

I used the same BT setup on my old Windows Mobile phone with no complaints.
Maybe you're on to something. I had assumed that the phone would mute its internal microphone when connected to a BT device. Maybe that's not the case? I'll try covering the phone's mic and see if that makes a difference.
Thanks,
-Brett.
No luck. I tried both covering the Mic and taking the phone out of the car entirely. It made no difference in call quality.
Next step is to pair my wife's blackberry to the car and see if that works better. Need to determine if it's the phone or the car.

Sorry for being a smart-aleck. Actually, on a hand-free BT call last night I noticed a bit of an echo. I need to make some more calls to see if it continues. I never had that with the HD2 in 15 montrhs of use. Also, I noticed that the phone rings directly as well as through the car's sound system when I recieve a call. Again, I don't remember my HD2 doing that.
Minor update: I've found that it might be related to the Android Bluetooth in call volume setting. It seems like if I lower the volume during a call (via the volume rocker on the phone, not form the car's head unit) it helps with the echo problem. The problem is that this volume level resets itself to the max every time I pair with the car.
Is there any way to force Android to keep a lower volume level for the BT headset? I tried an app called Bluetooth Volume, but it didn't affect the BT Headset volume.
Thanks,
-Brett.

Sound: Equalizer through Spotify

When I use spotify and adjust equalizer settings there is no change in sound.
I've tried this on my Bluetooth headset and stock ear buds they came with.
Any help would be appreciated.

I have the same problem. External equalizers work for a while but stop randomly sometimes. Once was able to make SoundAlive work once with the right settings. Trying to find the right ones again. Will report if found

Exactly for the Bluetooth it works but wired doesn't it seems
I have the same issue, external equalizers don't work at all. Only sound modification settings that work are the ones in the system settings (and the actual equalizer is absent here). However, it worked for like 3 minutes at some point today, and the built in equalizer sounded amazing. And then it stopped working again -_-
I have the same problem!! Maybe it can be fixed with an update!
Bump. Have anyone found any solution for this? I've been into every single forum and thread and still no solution is found.
I have the same problem. Had this issue for months then randomly the EQ worked for about an hour yesterday, broken again today. Sound Alive+ works, up scaler and tube amp emulation work, but changing the EQ does absolutely nothing. Likewise with effects like 3D, concert hall etc. Using the built-in Samsung Music player seems to work but neither Spotify or Shuttle+ work.
I've tried everything I can think of except factory reset.
