When I use spotify and adjust equalizer settings there is no change in sound.
I've tried this on my Bluetooth headset and stock ear buds they came with.
Any help would be appreciated.

I have the same problem. External equalizers work for a while but stop randomly sometimes. Once was able to make SoundAlive work once with the right settings. Trying to find the right ones again. Will report if found

While using wired headphones the equalizer cuts in and out for me as well. On Bluetooth it works fine..
My settings don't seem to toggle when im using neutron player

Exactly for the Bluetooth it works but wired doesn't it seems
I have the same issue, external equalizers don't work at all. Only sound modification settings that work are the ones in the system settings (and the actual equalizer is absent here). However, it worked for like 3 minutes at some point today, and the built in equalizer sounded amazing. And then it stopped working again -_-
I have the same problem!! Maybe it can be fixed with an update!
Bump. Have anyone found any solution for this? I've been into every single forum and thread and still no solution is found.
I have the same problem. Had this issue for months then randomly the EQ worked for about an hour yesterday, broken again today. Sound Alive+ works, up scaler and tube amp emulation work, but changing the EQ does absolutely nothing. Likewise with effects like 3D, concert hall etc. Using the built-in Samsung Music player seems to work but neither Spotify or Shuttle+ work.
I've tried everything I can think of except factory reset.

I'm using rockplayer in cm7 sd playing avi and mkv but the audio is so low I have difficulty hearing them even with an in-ear earphone. Any work around to make the audio louder?
Try an equalizer app from the market and crank the dials up to the top.
You could also try Nook Color Tweaks.
You can change the volume gain in "Audio Settings" -> "Headphone analog gain".
thanks. Will look into them when I get home. Seems DSP Manager also works.
Don't bother with an eq app. Install nook tweaks.
I think that the best solution is using another speakers via bluetooth

Given the horrible range of the Nook Color's antenna-less bluetooth radio, you won't be able to get a clean signal more than a few inches away, if that. If you've got a bluetooth speaker, it's worth a try, but if not, a wired solution will be cheaper and sound better.
Use the equalizer app. I use Volume+ paid app, but the free ones work.
Reg. Bluetooth Audio -
I am having an issue, likely not related to Malladus, but could be. I use my phone in my car for bluetooth phone AND Audio. Audio being the key here.
Phone is working fine. Audio, will not work with anything except the stock "Music" app. I enjoy using DoubleTwist audio player, but nothing works to get it to play through the stereo. When I bring up the music app, it works fine, when I try to play through DoubleTwist, nothing happens. The stock toyota stereo shows my phone connected, audio enabled, the phone shows a track playing, but no audio is coming through. But if I load up the default music app, it starts working fine.
This has worked fine on AOSP roms before due to the fact that there is no "default" bluetooth stack player. I've read around, and the ROM is prioritizing the stock Music app. So I went and remove the Music app with root, now no audio will play except phone calls.
I am SURE someone has run into this. Is there a fix I am missing? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I can play music fine from the stock KK leak to my Motorola T605 with Google Music and Dsub. Try a different rom and rule out if it's a Malladus problem or not.
I'm having an issue with Google Now and my Note 3. When I have my bluetooth headset and hit the button it brings up Google search and I can ask it to call someone, etc. The problem is that the initial chime Google makes is VERY loud, to the point where it may be hurting my ear. The rest of the volume is just fine, phone calls are not too loud, system sounds, ringer, etc are just fine. I've tried this with 2 bluetooth headsets and have the same results.
Does anyone know if I can adjust or better yet just eliminate that chime?
Wow, no one else has this issue? I've had this happen with 3 different android phones and 2 different bluetooth headsets.
I don't have the issue. I'm using the turtle beach xp510 headset. Maybe try running viper4android and setup your Bluetooth audio through that.

Thanks, I took a peek at that before but had no idea which setting would apply to the BT headset. There is so much you can adjust in that program it's easy to get lost.
Hi, Im trying to listen fm radio but I can't hear any sound. I do use a headset. I can see the FM app can search stations but just no sound. What's weird is that it's working with the music player and videos with the headset. I'm on lollipop. Not sure if it was caused by the time I dropped my phone. I have tried Spirit FM app but still no sound.
same prob here!
Haii
i'm having the same problem with my z1 since weeks ago..
tried 4 diff headset/headphone, there's still no sound though all channels in it seem working.
please help.
Solution
Disable Detect Ok Google in any screen in Google adjustments.
Regards!
Thank you. Howd you know that?
I got the phone around 15 days ago. I was pretty happy with my earphones along with the Google Play equaliser, so never tried the "Headphones and Audio effects" functions. Everything was fine till a week ago.
I tried the inbuilt "Headphones and Audio effects" settings, didn't like it, and reverted to the Google Play equaliser.
I found out thag the Google Play equaliser was not working anymore. The equaliser UI was there and working, but it wasn't affecting ang changes in the audio.
Same issue when using Prime Music.
Has anybody else faced this issue?
If so, does anybody have a solution? (Not a workaround or phone reset suggestion)
Is it an Mi or Google Play issue?
Any help would be appreciated.
Happen to me as well,on china rom, mp3 player audify and bits apps ,equaliser not working ,only Poweramp works
Found a solution, Turn on Mono audio from developer mode and select any music player equalizer, it works on all mi phones and headphones
Mi equalizer works on stereo mode and doesn't allow other equalizer to control.

Thank you so much for this neat trick.
One more observation: If you switch on mono and then music player EQ starts working fine. After this even if we disable mono, EQ works fine.
