Flyme OS on Nexus 4? - Nexus 4 General

Hi Guys,
I see that the Nexus 5 got a alpha some days ago and thinking if it's possible to someday see this running on the Nexus 4. I'm aware about the hardware diferences but hope someday we can run it on our Nexus.

I'm SHOCKED at the lack of OEM ports on Nexus 4. When Nexus S had the level of development N4 currently gets there were ports from almost every OEM's rom. Now it seems all we have are AOSP/CM kangs or full builds. It's getting extremely boring around here with nothing but the same old stuff over and over and over every single day. I need something different to play with already guys!!!

Like hp420 says... on almost other phone there's a lot diferent roms, I remember back in the days of the HTC HD2 runnin' almost every OS out there. The Nexus 4 have plenty of good rom's but are improvements to stock or CM... nothing really diferent, ok we have Unbutu, Sailfish & FirefoxOS, but none of them is working 100% to use daily. The Flyme OS looks diferent for all of this, don't know if it's hard to port or a simple thing because I don't know nothing about porting. So hope someone try to get this to our Nexus 4.
Thanks for the interess guys

I would like flyme also!

i love flymeOS, i have wanted to try it on every phone i have owned but i never got a fully fnctional version...but once it is done for the Nexus 5 it will probably be easy to port to our nexus 4 i guess

Yes, but I think there's no hardcore Dev's to port it. Every rom in n4 section is AOSP based and I'm bored of this phone. No working miui, no flyme... Now I'm using ffos and I like it, because I can't watch to black Android background everywhere.
Wysłane z mojego Nexus 4 przy użyciu Tapatalka

I'll propose this idea; I will work on a Sense Port if and only if I get some other devs who want to work with me (mainly kernel devs, I can handle the rom side), and users are interested. Right now I'm looking at a Sense 6 port from the Droid DNA due to the same SoC. Again, if I get any other devs to work with me, I'll be down to work on it. I know it's very possible to accomplish this.
If you are interested, quote this post so we know who's up for it

Hi tommypacker, it hould be nice to see a working sense 6 rom for the nexus 4... But we are talking about flyme OS in this post and trying to get the interess of some dev for that. Good luck on your quest

Whoa , i like flyme . wish we had a port

+1 for Flyme os
really love this UI.. hope some smart devs can make it happen ..thanks

Let's try to create a hype around this requests and see if we can catch the atenttion of any dev. It seems our only hope for now...
Thanks guys!

Nexus 4 Indonesian Thread

Hello, I just got my Nexus 4 3 weeks ago. And I'm so happy with it. But I haven't found any thread for Indonesian users, is there any Indonesian XDA-Developers Members who use Nexus 4 too?
Share your story here!
Hi there I'm using my N4 for 2 weeks now, very happy with it, and still considering to root it or not, but to be able to tweak the display saturation is very tempting.... Hmmm
Sent from my Nexus 4 using xda app-developers app
Yeah, many friends of mine recommend me to flash/root it with custom ROM. But I love this "pure android" style. Perhaps in the next 3 months, I'm gonna root this. Have you ever tried? Or still considering it? And what ROM you will use if you root that?
Indonesian too here, having it for one week, and rooted it since day one lol
And keep changing my rom since day 2, now i am on xylon v19 and harsh kernel, battery life is pretty good so far, performance is noticeably faster than stock.

Wow, that's awesome.. I never have courage to root my new Nexus 4. I just dare to do it with my old Galaxy mini.
So aimcr7, can you please post your homescreen? I want to see what it looks like..

lol its nexus, its so easy, and hard to brick your nexus unless you erased your bootloader or flashing wrong kernel.
Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk 2
Cool lockscreen. I wish I could have something like that....
Perhaps 2 months from now, I'll try to custom my N4.
Why dont try it from now on? Its so easy man. If you compare it with installing or rooting in device like htc or samsung (non nexus) one, this is pretty darn easy. And the guide is everywhere.
Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk 2
I'm so afraid that my N4 is bricked. Like my "mini", it never return to good now. Perhaps it's because I'm not too professional with flashing and rooting.
Or, could you give me some links about it?

Nexus 7 4.2.2 JDQ39 update rolling out in USA?

Just because an update might be rolling out for one particular device it doesn't necessarily mean all the Nexus hardware will be getting said update, so keep that in mind.
I haven't seen any mention of 4.2.2 recently, guess it'll happen soon enough (unless some people are trolling Reddit which is pretty common these days as the site gets more popular every minute).

Not trying to play Buzz Killington here but if you're not getting permission, could you please delete these ports? I fear that if we upset devs who are considering bringing their roms to Sprint, they may end up deciding not to.

I understand. I did get permission to post this rom (as xcoNjA said) and evil1art said he was working on a Wicked rom that is capable of being flashed on all carriers. I didn't know ::indie:: was against his rom being ported, so from now on, I'll ask permission to port, just as I have with this one. All of my ports will now be with the devs permission.

[DISCUSSION] LG G2 ROM for Nexus 5

Since the Nexus 5 is the sister phone of the LG G2, I was hoping that a Dev could port a ROM over. This was done with the nexus 4 and the Optimus G so I guess its possible but a lot of work for whoever wants to go for it.

I wouldn't count on it, the Galaxy Nexus was the sister phone of the S2 and we didn't really get a touchwiz port (or at least a fully functional one, we got a few VANILLA based touchwiz Roms which were just AOSP that looked like touchwiz), and likewise for the Nexus 4, no LG ROM (again there was probably a really small dev project that ended up with a really bad port).
Anyway, point is, when you don't see an LG G2 ROM for the Nexus 5 I wouldn't throw the finger at Google or at XDA or at the developers.

Optimus G port for nexus 4 was ****. In alfa stage since beginning. Then no development at all. So I doubt there will be any functional G2 port for N5.

That being said I understand the amount of ROMs that a phone has is good...but why on Earth would we want to go back to anything like Sense, Touch wiz UX, or whatever LG calls their Android skin?
I thought owning a Nexus to go AOSP was part of the freedom. Anyways...if you do like the look of any ROM, there's tons of themes on XDA and the Market that mimic the exact look of other skinned Android distros.

I think you missed some of the point of the OP. Getting the N5 to look like a LG G2 isn't the problem, they want some or all of the functionality of the G2. Yes some may think that the UI is crappy, and they are entitled to their opinion. But then they're those of us who who do not share that same sentiment. I have both phones and while I like them both for the uniqueness, I use the G2 as my daily driver because of its functionality.

Good God no.
I understand that Android is about having choice, but at least pick the RIGHT choice. LG's bloated, uglier-than-Touchwiz skin will never be the right choice.
