Poll : Which Custom Rom you are running?

Not trying to be funny, but many people here change roms more than they changed their underwear. So the poll will be flawed.

Very true. I was on Doc's a couple days ago, then went to Darky's 9.5, and yesterday changed to Simply Galaxy Sweet Honey

1) Is this post development? I don't think so.
2) Is this post necessary? I don't think so.
3) As previously stated, is this poll accurate? I don't think so.

Yes you are right that people are always on the move.....I know this will be not 100% accurate but at least at this instance of time it can give us an idea (say 80% accuracy) about Market Trend (means popularity of rom) at this time (lets say Mar/Apr 2011) with current available ROMs. It may change in a month or two. But then in next quarter we may run another poll...

This thread should be in General.. that's why you'll not have a good answer here. (It's typically "noobish" to post questions or poll here, unless it's for developping something by yourself or with some dudes..)
And, on my opinion that's useless, all custom rom or more or less the same : A Sammy Rom deodexed and zipaligned, changements are tweaks... it's made me laugh when in themes OP specify it's for Doc's or Darkyy (of course it will works on both, only version/region is important).
For me no matter which rom you're using, it's Android.
If there is just one difference, it's between CM/MIUI AOSP based roms and Sammy'roms.
Same for kernels, it's just more or less functions and geeking/tweaking.

C'mon guys some more votes & we can get some representative picture here....that what our community is actually using....

iv been using Docs rom for about a week or two now xwjs8 with ADW Launcher barely lags when im not using it.Darky's rom's are gr8 but in the last 3 weeks they've got a little hard to flash and full of stuff i don't use and a little buggy a few times messed up my phone couldn't flash froyo had to revert to eclair kitchen roms are good i can flash them with my eyes closed im waiting for a Stable GB from Darky see what's not

alright so im an evo owner. im rooted, rom'd, the works. so i know what im doing but my friend is also rooted but has been out of the loop for a few months. so i need some recommendations as to what the best aosp (preferably) rom/kernel combo is for him. im basically gonna have to overhaul his phone
so links to the best rom, kernel, and a link to the newest radio update (im sure he is more than a few versions behind) would be nice
oh and what is the most rock solid stable recovery for this device. like if you own an evo you use amon-ra its not even a question. is there a preferred recovery for this device also? (it also has to be able to flash radios)
any and all help is appreciated
Edit: apparently my post here was not specific enough for some people. So to clear things up my friend does in fact have this phone (hero cdma) but he has very slim knowledge when it comes to rooting so I am trying to help him.

You aren't even posting in the right forum.... this is for the HTC HERO CDMA NOT THE EVO. You never specify that "your friend" even has a Hero. So this is why I say that.
Plus EXPECT us to just provide all this information when you sir are more than capable of reading, testing, and flashing all of what we have to offer here. You did it for your Evo didn't you? Then you can do it for "your friend's" Hero also. None of us care if you don't want to read everything. It's a forum. That's what you do here. READ.

Ok I'm sorry I don't have time to play with my friends phone for a whole damn day. I see him like once every 2 weeks so I firgured I would ask in the Q/A for his device to find out what's good. You know, where you go to ASK QUESTIONS. I'm more than aware of the forum rules and I'm certain I didn't do anything wrong. So either offer suggestions or piss off.
Edit: also I figured it was implied in the op that my friend has this device because why else would I venture into the legacy device forum to find this phone and go through all that to post here? So you gonna help or not? I didn't realize that mentioning a name of a good rom or kernel was so hard. Hell you don't need to supply links I'm more than capable of reading and searching for it once a name is given.

Sorry bout the swearing. I for lack of a better word got "screwed" (keep your head out of the gutter) by my boss today and am not exactly in the best mood.
I know how you feel about the 100 times thing. Happens in the evo forum a lot to but the difference is that they have the devices their asking about so they can very well test on their own. I don't have this device and have no means of testing other than my not so intelligent friend who would probable mess this up some how.
And thank you. Now is there a recovery you recommend? I think he said he was using darkstar or something close to that but idk how good that is

I completely understand man. We all have our days. Having a bad one myself too.
Any of our CWM recoveries work very well. 2.5.0.7 (??) is the most used by our users here. As a developer I run my own special recoveries (Green Lantern) to my liking so another USER might wanna chime in here.
Also check out the .29 radio if he's on Sprint. He's probably missed out on it.

Ok thanks for the help. You just covered everything I needed to know. But one last opinion. have you used decks rom? On the evo his rom is the go to aosp rom so I just want to know if that is the case here or if its at least stable. I don't need break neck speed necessarily but more just stable as a rock. I need it to last him the last 5 or 6 months of his contract without needing to be fiddled with all to much haha

Deck's is good also. If your friend isn't picky between Sense and AOSP I'd just flash that and get him going again.
Personally I'd try TeamHeroC's latest 2.3.7 build from Jaybob. He just updated it the other day and from early reports everything runs nicely. Also it's a small build and GREAT for firerats partition mod if your inclined to do so. There's a ton of options here for our Heros, Picking the right setup is personal choice and a ton of flashing Great device for flashoholics like myself

Just about any of the ROMs you find here with current release dates are 10x better then stock. I myself, like MattCrystal, am a flashaholic and bounce between them when I need a change. TeamHeroC by Jaybob was the first I used and I always end up going back to it.
CWM or CWM based recoveries have been solid for me--no issues.
But I must side with Matt about the reading......good luck!

use jaybobs teamheroc latest rom, been running it the longest and it is stable and fasttt ! but for sense go for matts best sense out there imo

best 4.2.1 rom out there.

whats the best 4.2 JB rom out there right now based on your personal experience. Some important things i use are camera, music playback through bluetooth, gaming. Please share your opinions.

No point in having this thread. Every rom has its rights and user. You can try and find out yourself. There are only handful of ROMs. Important thing is still 4.2.1 is not that ready yet. If you want, try OFFICIAL NIGHTLIES FROM CM10.1 or Asylum(cm10.1) or Stunner 2.0(AOKP) which I have used before. I might have missed out some here but never tried them. My choice would be a Stunner... . Please feel free to try them and find out yourself rather than somebody suggesting you to. After all they are here to download and try. Good luck.

It doesn't have a question mark at the end, so now it's OK even though it would be discussing the same thing? Or it could have been a "POLL: Best 4.2.1 ROM", and it'd be ok?
And yes, we can tell people to go try all the ROMs out there, but what's the harm in someone asking for other users comments on their experiences? Afterall, isn't this meant to be a place of discussion? I've found it enormously useful to have discussions like the OP is asking for, and it'd be a shame that these discussions don't take place anymore.
To try to contribute to the OP's question - I've used Asylum and have loved it. It has saved my Note. Had been very frustrated with the lag that came with the TW ROMs but now it's brought my Note back to life again. I've been wanting to try Stunner, and based on Galaxtus' comment that he prefers Stunner the most, I will give that ROM a try too. (So thank you, Galaxtus for that very helpful comment!).

best N7000 rom

Hi,
I'm currently looking for a nice stable KitKat rom. In testing asylum right now. I really like the dark interface. Looks pretty nice on amoled. I have some wlan and camera probs though.
The original omni and slimkat seem to be good choices, too.
I want a fully working nice rom asap and not test for days or weeks. Unfortunately I have other stuff to do
Can someone give me some pros and cons of those or other roms, pls? Which one delivers the most stable build atm.

If you read the rules and have browsed a few of the headlines you should already know that BEST is not allowed and in violation of the rules. Try them yourself!

Unless stated otherwise, each Rom will have their full description in the OP including known bugs. Of course individual hardware condition also play a part in generating issues. The best solution is to always do a full, clean flash whenever flashing a new rom.
And to answer your enquiry, all developers who cooked the roms have made the roms in accordance to survey, latest updates, and mostly from personal preference so again what might be an issue to you might not be to many others. As a weekly flasher, the best way to know how good a rom is of course to try it ourselves, it's all the fun of flashing cusrom about.

The BEST ROM is the one that works BEST for YOU. Read the ROM threads...it is full of members who think THAT ROM is the best.
You need to find out what works best for you, your phone/apps/usage/signal/setup.

Hey all! I hope someone can answer this question. I'm rooting my M7 today and I wanna go pure lollipop. I used CyanogenMod's ROMs all the time on my Sensation a few years ago and I love them. Is this the best pure Lollipop ROM out there right now? I want something solid for day-to-day use. Thanks!

"Best" is pretty subjective when it comes to ROMs. But this is definitely NOT the most stable.
If you want something solid check out the Google Play edition roms.
