Nope - unless your formatting your internal SDCard the backup should still be on the phone even if you Odin 1 Click back to stock.
And.. if your really paranoid - you could always move the backup to your computer's hard drive then pop it back on after you update/restore

restored means (reinstalled, or you used an app to backup and restore the apps?) What firmware are you using?

Forget the backup. Try installing an app on the market, save/move to SD and see if it's recognized.
If it is recognized and able to open the app, then the app used to restore your apps is the problem.

And your post is confusing. Be straight to the point next time. I believe this is not an SD issue. The app you used to restore the backup is poorly coded. Just reinstall them one by one if they are available in the market.

Hi
Seems that there is an over the air /network update from Sony for my phone. Xperia T from phones 4 u. Foolishly (it seems) I attempted to install it, and it failed. My phone is rooted and has Cwm on having unlocked the bootloader. Since the failed update I have been unable to take photos as I get an error saying 'memory error' saving photo failed.
I tried the fixing permissions option in Cwm, then I tried restoring from a backup from Cwm which initially moaned about not being able to write to E/..
Second time around the backup restored fine but still same problem with taking photos.
Photos are saved to the internal storage right, which I have not touched..
Any ideas as to what is going on here and how to fix it?
Any help much appreciated
Thanks
Nat
Ps. Assuming that the update from Sony didn't work because of the rooted/cwm/unlocked bootloader state of the phone..? It calls itself 7.0.A.3.195

what is your problem?
Is it a memory error or is it a failed update?
For one, the solution is to backup up the memory cards and format them, for the other its to run the install again from pccompanion.
Sorry hadn't quite finished writing that when it posted and you replied. (have updated it now)
Does the advice still stand?

You cannot update the phone via official methods if you have unlocked the bootloader
Yes, advice still stands. Backup internal memory card, format it in settings and restore it
Thanks, is that 'clear internal storage' option?

assuming its not clear internal storage and is in fact formatting with CWM..
however..
if I backup my internal memory card, then format it with CWM
how do i get the data back onto it?
as it wont boot if I wipe it - or at least that is what happened last time I tried
can I mount it in cwm and copy stuff across that way - because I did try that last time with no luck and ended up having to start again with a ftf
You can always format from within android. Settings> storage> format/wipe internal sdcard if I'm not mistaken

have root? if so get root uninstaller.
i don't remember those apk's specifically tho. not sure where you got that stuff. do you know what it is?
You've been visiting naughty sites!
Try force stop before uninstalling.
Daily motion, lucky patcher, etc. I tried to force stop before uninstalling and that didn't work. No naughty sites.

Looks like these are on your SD card. Did you try backing up internal storage, removing external SD then delete? Might have to do some SD house cleaning!
No I haven't tried that. What would be the process?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N900A using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Backup internal storage to PC, then go to settings/general/storage and select format SD card. Do the same with your external SD but use a card reader with your PC. Delete the apps again and reboot. Hopefully the rouge apps will not reappear. Then copy the files you know back into internal storage. Try not to over write anything in internal storage unless you're sure you know what it is. Same for external. Format SD card then copy back the files from the backup you made. If you're not sure about a file, don't copy it back to storage. Hopefully this will take care of the issue. It's also good to clean stuff from storage that serves no purpose. Good luck!

Just delete the secured android folder from your sd card

Everything you see in that directory when you view it on a computer.. You will loose all photos, music, games and any other personal data or apps you have downloaded or installed. You will basically have a new phone with only stock apps and data on it.

Reboot the phone. It's possible your Memory Card has reached the end of its lifespan. SSDs don't last forever. After they die, you can only Read and not Write.

It's not about the age mate. It's about how many times, data has been written onto it. I think the limits on newer SSDs are about 10000000 times. I'm not sure, I read about that back in School during Computer class.

Was this out of the blue or did it work before?
Also did you use it for something else than your phone?
Some previous devices of mine needed to format the sd card after using it for something else.
Yes, that's correct. I didn't use it that much, there's no way this is the problem. Besides, at the end of it's lifecycle the memory starts to slow down, but you can still use it.
In my case it works, i can listen to music and install apps from it without any problems, but i can't copy or delete anything.

By the way, use the exFAT file system, it's 64 Bit and more efficient than FAT or FAT32 and is supported by most Android phones. I use exFAT on all my phones.

On kk and lp there are a limitation to use the sdcard from installed apps, the only app that have write permision is the File commander that comes preinstalled. If you wan's to have full rw you must be rooted and install "SDFix: KitKat Writable MicroSD" app from the PlayStore. After running the app and making it rw you can uninstall this app, and you will have rw access on sd.

Yeah, this is the exact problem. I tried File Commander and it works. It would be nice to have full access, but i'm on locked bootloader and rooting is too big of a hassle.
This is the only way to get write access. You can get root without unlock the bl with the giefroot from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=3011598
If you want to try.

thanks man! giefroot supports lollipop as well?
No, you must downgrade to kk .93 with flashtool, as the exploit are patched already at kk .77
Then you can backup your ta partition with backup ta http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2292598
