Hey guys
how can I make a backup of my games progress and apps data
My phone is not roooted now
and what exactly sony backup and restore app backs?
I want to flash kitkat and i don't want to lose my progress in asphalt 8
thanks
Sony backup stores all app data including save games but a backup for older android version won't work in new one i.e. Kitkat.
The best option is to root and use Titanium Backup.
P.S. If you are on stock 4.3 and cant root, you can backup all your apps via Sony backup and then downgrade to 4.2. The backup from new version works on old version (surprisingly). Then just root and use Titanium backup.
You may need to give Helium a try.

Hello,
I admit I'm noob to this site and to android devices as well. This is may seem quite long, please read it out and help me. Recently i bought xperia sp [only 3 days old ] and successfully rooted it. To remove unwanted apps , i deleted some from root/system/app . Later i realize i removed some important files. My set is working fine, i just miss those . for example - google search widget, facebook, twiiter etc. Now i'm asking how can i restore every app that has been gone. Now i just want my phone as it were 3 days back. Pardon me if i can't make u understand ! I saw a post somewhere that i can manually update jelly bean 4.12, if i do so , will those app be back ? please suggest me what should i do now.
Best way is to use sus or PCC and restore/repair with those.
Before you do if you have root then use titanium backup to backup your apps and data to your ext SD card so you can easily restore your apps but not system files.
Once repaired, root again, install titanium and restore other apps you just backed up
Or if you have c5303 look here at the system dump http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2240516

Repair the phone software using sony pc companion or sus.
Believe me it's the best option.
Hi,
I have serious troubles with my xperia Z phone and i would be very happy if someone could help me. So this is my story:
After i bought my new xperia Z and had it for several months i wanted more of it so i rooted it. then i found an backup app for rooted phones (Titanium Backup). So i backed up my whole phones files with Titanium Backup and exerything worked properly. After a time the new software was out and i was asked to update the existing software. Whithout thinking about it a lot i did so and at first nothing happend. After a while i rebooted it once and the phone and contact icon disappeared. So i opened Titanium Backup and restored my loses. Unfortunately i had to do this each and every time i rebooted my phone and tried uninstalling and reinstalling Titanium Backup a few times but nothing changed so i thought it would stop with time. Then Jelly Bean 4.2.2 came out and it asked me again if i wanted to update my software and so i did. After updating the icons disappeared again and when i tried to restore these again (from Titanium Backup) it just loaded forever and never restored them and i also cant restore anything else from my backup. So i thought that maybe this ****y app just kept updating my backed up files without asking me and that the newer firmwares doesnt support the backuped files from another firmware so it stucked. What can i do now? Should i downgrade me phone two updates down then restore everything, update and make a new backup or something like this?
Thank you and i hope somebody can follow my problem and have an idea how to fix the hole problemm....:crying:
Does anybody know a way without having to reset the whole device to root my S5 Mini? I just wanna make a backup of all my games etc with Titanium Backup Pro but the phone needs to be rooted for that?

For titanium you need to have root access
Full backup can be done without root you can do it with a custom recovery (twrp)

How can I do that custom recovery you speak about?
You can backup Your apps by using Helium from PlayStore and a USB connected PC.
Very nice gonna try that!!
Newbie Question
If I did a backup of data with TWRP recovery and then flashed different rom and then tried to restore the backup would it work?
Most likely you will end up with a bootloop or Android Core constantly crashing. If you want to backup and restore apps data, I'd recommend using Titanium Backup instead.
If the new ROM is similar enough, and you only restore DATA, it might work. But like the last response, it might not. I also suggest (and use) Titanium for migrating app data. Although be aware that Titanium causes problems when restoring Whatsapp (and maybe a couple other apps that I don't use)? I've used Titanium with no problems on the 3T (as I have on countless ROM flashes on several Android devices).

Thanks a lot
I'm currently running MIUI Global 8.2, Stable 8.2.2.0(NAAMIEB). I want to back up my app data before flashing Paranoid Android. This is my first time installing ROMs, and therefore I haven't yet unlocked my bootloader, installed TWRP or rooted my device. How can I backup my app data in MIUI, without root, so I can restore the app data in my Paranoid Android ROM?
I've tried Helium without any success - it keeps asking me to enable PTP mode and install ADB drivers (both of which I have done, but the phone isn't detected by ADB command prompt). Google backup of app data doesn't work well in MIUI; I can only backup Google apps with a few third party apps.
Thanks.
If anyone could come up with something?
:crying:
I'm in the same situation.
You will need to unlock your bootloader and install TWRP anyway to flash third-party ROM like Paranoid, so just go ahead to unlock your bl.
but, if want to backup and restore data from and to MIUI system, it can be done in Settings-Additional Settings-Backup and restore(doesn't require a unlocked bl). It will backup your data in your /sdcard/MIUI folder, copy it else where and keep it safe.
You Can use Helium, works on non-rooted devices and is able to backup app data from most of the apps. But once you do root, I'd recommend switching to Titanium Backup Pro because it is just so much more better. Helium is the app you're looking for buddy. Hit the thanks button if I helped.
