question on force closes - AT&T Galaxy Note 3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have a rooted note 3 and started having problems on Sunday. One point my phone screen went black and could not see anything and I finally got it to reboot.
Now I am having trouble opening internet, email and in settings opening fonts. I have tried different browsers and also tried a system restore with no luck.
I know fonster was downloaded but removed and I am thinking it did something to the fonts and creating these FC. Any help advice to fix this would be greatly appreciated.

[Q] Problems with Market..

Hi everyone!
I have searched,,, and not found an answer..
I am trying to update Titanium Back and Beautiful Widgets but the downloading status bar on my Nexus One does not change.
My Nexus One is rooted and runs a Modaco Rom which I only updated last week..
I deleted Titanium Backup and thought I would re-boot and then download again, but when I access the Market, the two apps are still trying to download.
I try force close but nothing resolves the problem.
Any advice much appreciated!

I think the market (on Google's end) was having problems earlier. I decided to do a clean wipe of my phone last night and couldn't get the market to work at all, download unsuccessful, download paused, stuck at starting download. Found lots of threads on Google Support Forums, and a long one in the Galaxy S forum here on XDA. People were suggesting everything from clearing cache to removing and reinserting sim cards.
Bottom line, it seems to be working perfectly now, haven't had a failed download in the last couple hours. Don't know if Google is having market issues or not but it doesn't seem to be phone/rom dependent.
Thanks!
I still have the same problem.
I downloaded Titanium Back via a website and not the Market. It is the latest version, and I also paid, via the Market for the Pro licence.
But I still get the same problem with the Market continually trying to download both Titanium Backup and Beautiful Widgets.
edit - tried deleting data for the Market App, and on the third try, with re-boot, problem has resolved.
Unfortunately, icons in some of my GDE screens have disappeared.

TwLauncher Force Close after App installation - Resolution

Hi All, just some info sharing after I encountered TwLauncher force close loop after I installed an app. and how I resolved it. Searched for an answer for this but seems like everyone says do a hard reset which I do not want to.
Was trying out Dolphin Browser when suddenly my twlauncher force close. Think the error occurred because the browser tried to put a shortcut on the launcher but my launcher screens did not have space for it. Rebooting does not help as the twlauncher still goes into force close loop when the phone starts up. Almost wanted to do a hard reset but was thinking if I could go into Settings and remove the dolphin browser which may remove the error. After trying, I realised I could still go into the Settings by holding down Menu button to go into Search option (after dismissing the force close) and search for the Settings app. However when I went into the Settings, removed the Dolphin browser and rebooted, launcher still goes into force close loop.
Then I figured I should clear the data in twlauncher and let it launch in default. Same thing again, press and hold Menu button to go into Search. Search for app Settings and launched it. Go to Applications, Manage Applications, All and select TwLauncher. Go to Storage -> Clear data. And presto! No more force close loop!! TwLauncher now sets back to default, and the only thing you need to do is to customize/add back your launcher 'desktop' again with whatever shortcuts or widgets you want or had previously. No hard reset required which save a lot of hassle! So the error is basically data corruption which caused the TwLauncher to go into force close loop.
Hope anyone who encountered the same problem as me don't have to hard reset anymore with this solution!
Damn, you just saved me.
Thanks so much, I almost did the hard reset myself!
thanks man, i thought it's some bug from my rom, by now i see it's not. u're my hero!

Thank you man! I'm old you one)

in my app list is no TwLauncher?! Only TwWallpaperChooser...
But I think it is translated to "Startseite" (german) - can somebody confirm this?
I have the same problem - there is no TwLauncher in "All" list - please help
thank mate. although i find it useless but still i wanted it. thank so much
damn thus thread is a little bit too late.....I experienced it about 2 week ago...the only solution was to flash back my FW because Hard Reset didnt help...btw thanx for this coz it might be usefulll for the future....
Well, glad my old thread helped some of you guys. I'm not sure why some of you can't see the default rom twlauncher, unless you are using a custom rom with another launcher.
This sounds good and would have certainly helped me on the numerous occasions when I have experienced this, caused by an application failing to find desktop space to park an icon every time.
One small thing is nagging me though. If Search is not one of the last six apps I've used it won't show up in the Recent apps drawer that appears when I hold the menu button or have I missed something?
thanks bro this is great!!!
thank u soooo much
I was facing this problem on my new Galaxy S i9003 and had pretty much made up mind to do a factory reset when I came across a link to your post on this site - androidza.co.za forum
Thank you again - you saved me from a lot of trouble.
Thank you so much!!

Thanks for the wonderful info...
Thanks a ton guys from saving me the work of hard resetting my Galaxy Ace.
Note: for the people searching for tw launcher in manage applications, on the Galaxy Ace its "Sansung Home", just clear data and your Ace is all good again

[Q] Process com.motorola.contacts has stopped unexpectedly

Hello all, so the full error that reads is
The application Contacts Storage (process com.motorola.contacts) has stopped unexpectedly Please try again.
Then I get a Force Close
I really have no idea what I did to kill it, but its broke. I was already updated to 5.6.890 and -55 firmware. I had a bunch of apps installed and had ran the bloat remove and then re-added it and decided to "freeze" applications with TI Backup. Somewhere in there it all broke. I have searched online and only found a couple of people saying yahoo contacts is broke and to re-install. Well I tried that didn't work. I have don factory reset and nothing, even booted into safe mode and contacts still broke. It happens when I open my contacts and then go to click on a name. So I can not use my contacts to dial any number. The only way to make a call is to direct dial the number.
Anyone have any thoughts or fixes for this at all?

This has been asked countless times, please do some looking around. I mean, this thread (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1235391) is literally like 4 posts down from the top....
You need to unfreeze the authenticators (yahoo, orkut, etc) or contacts will crash.
That would be great to do however, I have unfroze everything, still not working, re-installed "bloatware" had everything like factory except for the upgrade to 5.6.890 and firmware at -55 did a factory reset several times, still broke then un-rooted, still broke, re-rooted then factory reset again and still broke. I have looked around and all options do not fix my problem.
Anything else you might be able to think of?
And just for good measure, I just rooted it and did the process that is supposed to fix it and it didn't work again.
Are you sure that you didn't uninstall anything? If restoring all the bloatware isn't helping you might just need to flash system.img and get it over with.
I am not sure at this point what I did or did not install/un-install, I have been fighting this and trying different things for the past 4 days. I would be fine with flashing the system.img if I knew how. Sorry to ask, but might you have a link to where I could find that info?

Wow, now that was dumb on my part... I am sorry, I had those files from when I upgrade from the -20 to -55 firmware. I guess I misunderstood the wording in my head. But trying this now. Thank you. I will let you know if it worked.
OMG!!! IT [email protected][email protected]@#[email protected][email protected]#
WHAT THE HELL!!!!
You are now my hero.
Androidsims - For AWSOME GREAT DEED OF THE MONTH!!!
Easy fix
After reading suggestions, I opened Titanium backup, backup, filters, frozon apps, unfreeze each one with Authenticator in name & done..
Thanks for all the help!
com.motorola.contacts has stopped unexpectedly
when i tried to use the original contacts storage of my Atrix 4G it presented me a sorry message "process com.motorola.contacts has stopped unexpectedly". I tried many solutions from internet. All of them fail. So I entered in Google Play Store and install the app "GO Contacts". Now I can use my contacts to make call and better organize it. Please try it.

Annoying ads keep appearing at random places

Hey guys,
I hope you can help me with this.
My girlfriend has been using the HTC One Mini 2 for a while now, but about a month ago these ads started appearing at random places, the home screen in other apps, etc.
We've tried multiple ad blockers, airpush solutions, factory resets, opting out, etc.
After setting up the phone, about 24 hours later the ads started appearing again. We can click 'em away with ease, but it's really annoying.
Unfortunately I'm not able to post an image, because I'm a new user, but it's always a Google ad and it's about as big as a row of icons on the homescreen. It always appear as an overlay, but never in the notifications.
Hope someone can help me with this.
Thanks.

Take a screenshot while holding the Power button and the home key and post it here
Patching using Lucky Patcher, block ads on device and Turn google ads OFF. L.patcher will modify system hosts file to block all those crap ads. And it works for almost every devices I used before.
Give it a shot. Wish u luck!
Sidenote, it's root required.

This is one of those new malwares that cant be removed with a simple factory reset, you have to do flash the whole firmware again, if you have TWRP its easier..
You need to see if you can uncheck the restore apps after reset option in Back & Reset, if you cannot disable it, then the above is the only solution..

look like its one of the installed apps that's causing that. make sure they all are from play google and not running background advertising.
Thanks for the replies, guys.
Unfortunately I'm not able to post a screenshot yet, because I haven't got 10 posts yet.
I've tried rooting the phone, but that was quite a pain in the ass. I got stuck at installing TWRP, which still causes problems today with the phone freezing while booting and I have to use the "bright light" solution to reboot the phone. TWRP told me it had installed SuperSU, but it's nowhere to be found on the phone, so it's still not rooted.
It's almost impossible it's one of the apps, because we did a full erase of the phone. She'd never install apps from outside Google Play anyway.

I also had to flash SuperUser manually in mine.
