Hi, i have a nexus 6 thats is supposed to be from sprint. When I insert my GSM movistar or telcel sim card providers from Mexico, it will not pick up signal and it only says "emergency calls only" I dont know if the phone is supposed to be unlocked or if there is a special process for this. I have the link down here so you can see some pictures of my signal and everything.
Phone is running Root, Twrp, Chroma Rom if neccesary.

Sprint N6 are not SIM locked. For US carriers, only AT&T are SIM locked.

right, as i said. but that leaves the op with another issue, either he/she put it in wrong, or its a bad sim card.

I agree with you. If I read the OP correctly, it sounds like he's not 100% positive it came from Sprint.

What model # is the phone? XT1100 or XT1103? If it is the domestic, XT1103, that might be the issue. You might need to have the XT1100 international version. However, I might be wrong. There were early reports when the phone was just being released, that certain Sprint models, sold through Amazon, were carrier locked. All units purchased directly from Sprint were unlocked. When and where did you get the device?

Hey there, yeah its a nano sim card it uses, the sim card is working perfectly since ive tryied it in other devices and its active running with service and all. Hi its an xt1103, ill upload a pic to that previous link of photobucket so you can see what it says in the boot up recovery. Shows model and all, I bought this through craigslist with oem box and all I double checked the meid on the box and phone to make sure it wasnt stolen was good. Guy told me it was tmobile and he clearly stated bad imei, which I truly doubt since when I check the meid through swappa it shows, sprint as carrier so most likely sprint with bad esn and it probably is a locked version. Hope you guys can get me going and let me know if it might be a signal problem or something.
Thanks

good? no, you dont have a signal at all. are you sure that its from sprint? because att is the only us carrier that sim locks the phone. while you would need an international version, everything but lte should still work. maybe you put the sim in backwards?

if it was a bad imei, you could try flashing the factory.img. does it list the imei number anywhere in the phone? or, in the main settings, in about phone, what does it say for baseband version?

Hey there, I attached a photo to the photobucket that shows the baseband and all, when I do *#06# it shows MEID not imei and it starts with 99000 what I did notice is that the meid has one extra number at the end, when compared to the one written on the phones oem box but im thinking thats totally normal.
In about menu:
Baseband shows: MDM9625_104335.118.02.55.04R
When I turn of the phone and go into the fastboot screen baseband shows:
D4.0-9625-02.55.04
Thanks

Neither T-Mobile nor Sprint are carrier locked. Only AT&T.
When you say "bad" IMEI, it unfortunately could mean that it's been blacklisted. Happens if the owner defaulted on his contract, or if it was reported stolen. If that's the case, you're SOL, unfortunately.

Activation status: Clear (Sprint / MVNO) ,

you need to flash it via fastboot while youre in your bootloader. there are instructions here on xda as well. good luck!
hey please help me, do u fix it?
Please help!!!!!!
I bought xt1060 with unlocked bootloder on kitkat 4.4.2 after some time i thought why not install twrp and custom rom.
At the starting of modding i installed twrp (latest) then cm12.1.
After some time with cm12.1, i decided to install AICP (marshmallow), there the problem started, the problem was that when i receive an incomming call there was no sound on ear piece but after turning on the loud speaker, i can clearly hear the sound.
I searched the forums and found out that if i flash lollipop modem, i can get rid of this problem i mentioned earlier, so i downloaded verizon xt1060 modem from (http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-x/development/xt1053-retail-stock-lollipop-flashable-t3155843) and run:
Fastboot flash modem non-hlos.bin
Fastboot erase modemst1
Fastboot erase modemst2
Fastboot flash fsg fsg. Mbn
Fastboot reboot
Using adb while moto x (which is on AICP custom rom) was in fastboot mode.
Phone started boot loop on the initial starting screen.
I rebooted in recovery then wiped system, data, cache, dalvic cache then installed AICP ROM, but no luck still phone was boot looping on the initial screen, then i downloaded verizon xt1060 5.1.1 firmware from (https://firmware.center/firmware/Motorola/Moto X (1st gen-2013)/Stock/XT1060 Verizon/). Flashed it and phone booted fine after booting was completed i found out that phone was not reciving carrier signals. I searched for solutions, but no luck.
phone IMEI, baseband version was there but every thing was unknown in (about phone > status > sim status)
I checked sim from CQAtest, it said:
Sim state:absent
Sim operator:
Sim operator name:
Sim country:
Sim serial number: null
Phone ICCID:was there
Sim ICCID:null
Phone ICCID compared with sim ICCID: error
I have also checked different sims of different carrier, but still no signals.
I also flashed other modems but still no luck.
Please share if there is any way i can fix this problem :crying:
i went to the unlocking guy and asked him to give me my SPC code, he was able to extract my SPC code using "sigma key", i came home, downgrade my phone to 4.4.4, applied sim crack method (http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto...t1056-t2825155) and then i finally got my precious sim working.

Still in problem?
Yes im still facing the problem. One day i checked my imei on international database and found out that it was xt1056 (not xt1060), i went to firmware download and downloaded
XT1056_GHOST_SPRINT_5.1_LPA23.12-39.10_cid9_CFC.xml.zip
912.0 MiB
Flashed it.
But now its taking forever on activating screen (on every boot).
I think the problem took place because i flashed verizon modem on sprint moto x

Try reinstalling AICP since that's what you were running before, and since you flashed the correct XML everything should be working correctly.
You can find the correct model number on the back (assuming it's the original back) it's really small towards the bottom
Btw where did you check your imei?

sir i checked my imei on multiple websites like (http://www.imei.info),(https://imeidata.net)....
They both gave me same details, btw my orignal back cover was broken so i changed it with a new one. Is there any other way of finding IMEI on hardware like under the battery or something. I'm currently running AICP because as u know phone takes forever on activating screen on stock rom.
I contacted sprint through internet, i told them every thing so they asked for my sprint phone number (for activating purpose using manual programming method) i went to settings>about phone>status>sim status, there i found this number 0000000xxxx which was not a sprint number according to sprint. I think its not activating because there is no sprint activity in pakistan.

Is there any way I can downgrade from lollipop to KitKat on sprint version moto x ???
Because phone can be activated from KitKat illegally
(MY BOOTLOADER IS UNLOCKED)
I'm asking this because in my area there is shop which downgrades android version and unlock sprint phones for 500RS
Downgrading is not recommended. It can cause issues. And since you flashed the whole firmware from Verizon, you can only use the 5.1 firmware from Sprint.

I have a N920p Sprint Note 5. It had 5.1.1 i rooted it and flashed 6.0.1 stock rom with Odin. I then rooted that and have flashed DarthStalker and MoAR. I had Moar on it and had someone remote unlock it. It wouldnt accept my tmobile sim still. It wasnt saying Invalid sim just wouldnt connect to any network, so I reflashed stock rom with odin and had it remote unlocked again. Suposedly its unlocked right now but when Tmobile sim is inserted it will not connect to network. Ive tried changing the mode and multiple APN settings. My question is if a phone is unlocked why does flashing the phone with a different rom relock it. and can anyone tell me what I AM DOING WRONG. I contacted sprint about having them unlock the phone before I had it remote unlocked and they said that they unlocked it but it would take 48 hours I waited and called back and the new rep said phone as already unlocked but it would still say invalid sim when i inserted my sim card. Pulling my hair out here. HELP?!

i ended up switching to a note 8 last week and i cant get updates even though i am using an att sim card on an att phone, this phone was given to me by a family member and it was frp locked but i got it unlocked, it was on the march update but because of the great people of xda i was able to update it through recovery to the april update, i couldnt go any further because i updated too far on bootloader 3 and couldnt get upgraded to bootloader 4 or 5, i tried odin but it will either immediately stop after clicking start saying 0 succeeded fail 1 but it doesnt have the red fail message and other times it will just be stuck on setup connection or initialization and i cant get it to work at all and i would like to get updates because maybe the note 8 will eventually get android 9(will be very late but it will be time to switch carriers anyways by the time it comes out)

I was able to get it to detect my phone but it still either freezes at setup connection, intialization or it will fail with a complete write operation fail error or a device info error, and most of the time it just stops after setup connection and doesn't continue, I have tried several usb ports and cords and I don't have another computer to use right at this moment, I was able to flash my s7 just fine with odin 3.13.1 so I have no idea why my new note phone is being a pain in the a**

How about smart switch on the PC? Does it recognize it as well and can you do a firmware recovery using smart switch?
Last bet I would bring it to a Samsung shop and get them to fix it under warranty.

It doesn't even say there is an update in smart switch, the phone works it's just I can't get otas from att even though I have an att sim card and the phone is att branded, it's just a minor annoyance because I would like to have the latest version and have it be able to be updated maybe it's because the phone is still in the 7 day rmm lock state

7 day rmm lock state? Are talking about the OEM unlock switch in developer options? That's only for the exynos models Sm-n950f/ds. You won't get that on snapdragon because you have a locked bootloader. So rmm and the 7 day wait period doesn't affect you. But if its something else, sorry.
Your device is SM-N950U1 or SM-N950U?
Maybe take it back to att and see if they have any luck on updating the phone if not ask them for a replacement one.

So the rmm lock on the note 8 and above keeps you from enabling oem unlock for 7 days which could keep odin from flashing any firmwares official or not. My model number is N950U
If I can't fix it myself I'll just deal with it for now and get it fixed later because its not really bothering me too much other than I just got this phone from someone else

Just edited my post above yours.
Your phone has a locked bootloader!
The OEM unlock is only for exynos international models.
Won't do you any good.

Yeah, but the thing is that the oem unlock switch might also be a switch that allows flashing official firmwares because it was also kinda like that on my old phone in the sense that if it was checked not only was factory reset protection disabled but it also allowed me to flash official firmwares without as much trouble, but I'm not really sure so correct me if I'm wrong

Okay you'll need the comsey Odin to flash the sm-n950u1 firmware on your sm-n950u model.
Do a search on how to convert sm-n950u to sm-n950u1.
On is Samsung carrier unlock version and the other is carrier version. (Doesnt mean bootloader unlock, both are bootloader locked)

Samsung changed that since the s8 days. SNAPDRAGONs won't get the OEM unlock switch at all anymore it's useless now so you'll never see it in developer options because they locked down the bootloader for the USA/Canada models which are snapdragons.

Ok, so all I need to know now is if I can flash the u1 firmware even though I'm on Android 8 because I thought I heard that it was patched with that update

It's just a modified Odin that skips the device model check. Be careful though.
Just make sure you have the right model.
What's your baseband say after the n950..... ?

Looks like you'll need a new modified version of Odin for oreo. Read the first post on first page.

You'll better be on bootloader v3 then because if you'd on bootloader v4 you can't downgrade to nougat.
To find out the bootloader version it's the 5 number from the right of this n950usqu"5"crg7 notice the "5" that's the bootloader version.
You can find by baseband in about phone software info or dial *#1234# (look at the ap line)
You can go up but you can't go down!

Hello, I have bought an LG v40 ATT unlocked some months ago. I cannot update to android 9 via OTA none via LG Bridge because I think it needs an ATT account or sim card for it to update via the ATT network but I live in Europe. What can I do to update it to Android 9? Thanks in advance

Buy a SIM from eBay, they're a couple bucks. Then use a VPN for a USA IP or just download ATT's stock ROM and flash w/ LG UP, simple

Okay. I am in a similar position to the OP.
I bought a AT&T Go sim off eBay and it is on its way.
When it gets here, and I install it, will the phone look for the OTA update and do that? Even if I do not activate the sim?
Also, you mention download AT&T's stock ROM and flash with LG Up. I'm assuming the answer is yes, but are there links to both the ROM and LG Up? I have flashed multiple phones with lots of different ROM's etc..., but LG's always are a difficult nut to crack.
I would appreciate any help you can provide, thanks.

Do you know if a Red Pocket GSMA (ATT MVNO) sim will work?
Just buy an AT&T pre-paid sim card with the cheapest plan. It is only a few bucks.
If you have a friend with AT&T phone, borrow his/her sim card for a few minutes and manually trigger firmware update. Not a good idea if your friend was a drug dealer.

Correct No Official/unofficial KDZ avialable for LG UP
But if someone already got Android 10 AT&T and decided to Dump all of the Partitions with Qfil then you could also use Qfil to replace android 8 or 9 with 10 from that dump...you would just have to make sure you flash all the correct Partitions.
I have a similiar issue . No updates for Sprint locked phone bought off ebay. When pie FINALLY dropped I never got ..literally was refreshing lg update app on phone every day.
Took to sprint after I noticed it was stil on 1st release , not even security updates V405U11a 8.1.0 10/1/2018 . They were puzzled but could only suggest factory reset and see if it triggered OTA updates.
Know if I download update for manual install, can't use latest as the latest is dependant on the one before. Out of the 12 updates which order and which ones are necessary?
Any better advice ? Would try for root but now netflix wont work . Sorry to come off as such a newb but like the phone
