I have a N920p Sprint Note 5. It had 5.1.1 i rooted it and flashed 6.0.1 stock rom with Odin. I then rooted that and have flashed DarthStalker and MoAR. I had Moar on it and had someone remote unlock it. It wouldnt accept my tmobile sim still. It wasnt saying Invalid sim just wouldnt connect to any network, so I reflashed stock rom with odin and had it remote unlocked again. Suposedly its unlocked right now but when Tmobile sim is inserted it will not connect to network. Ive tried changing the mode and multiple APN settings. My question is if a phone is unlocked why does flashing the phone with a different rom relock it. and can anyone tell me what I AM DOING WRONG. I contacted sprint about having them unlock the phone before I had it remote unlocked and they said that they unlocked it but it would take 48 hours I waited and called back and the new rep said phone as already unlocked but it would still say invalid sim when i inserted my sim card. Pulling my hair out here. HELP?!

Hey there!
after an unsuccessful try to unlock my bootloader (11w42) my phone is still working, but radio function is disabled.
I can only enter my PIN number...
Is there any way to get it back working again? I already tried repairing with SUS and flashing the firmware with flashtool, but still there is no service.
Some wrote to get back radio function with msm7227_setool2, but i guess thats only for already unlocked bootloaders, right?
Thank you so much for your help!
i think that is related to the "baseband" check the version of your phone maybe you are using the wrong one
Type this using dial pad *#*#4636#*#* go to phone information and check if ur radio is off....

I am running on the 015 baseband. Maybe i should flash the baseband itself again.
Typing in the mentioned Code Resultate in nothing. The field gets cleared After the last *
Ill let you know if i found a solution.
Thanks a Lot btw!

Some said unlocking bootloader may sim lock your phone. I think you need to re-unlock it.

1 more time
flash the stock Firmware download from my signature
flash the kernel with SIM card inside your phone during flashing

The phone was a gift from one of my friends, he did not read the warnings about the production date but tried unlocking
So now radio is off...
I'll flash 2.1 and baseband later to check if that works
I think it's sim lock but I'm not sure :/ :/

Branded phone. on stock 14.2.a.1.136
I have a question, Would my phone Imei number set itself to 000000000 if I flash the kitkat rom for my device? I tried flashing a stock rom on another build number which was unbranded and that resulted in no service, no connection to my sim manufacturer or able to look up the kernel, nothing worked. So please reply to my post. My phone is bound for 12 months and I would really like to flash a custom rom like Cyanogen on my device. Is there a way to do this or do I have to wait for a year?
After searching the xda forums I finally found a way to get my phone service up and running again.
My phone is Sony Xperia z1 build 6903 Stock 14.2.a.1.136. bound to a norwegian phone service named Telenor.
Any help or tips are much appreciated, I would really like to avoid encountering the same problem again it costed me alot of grief and will not continue to flash or do anything regarding my phone until someone would be kind enough to point me towards the how to's. Thank you for reading
The "how to's" are very well sign posted in the general and development threads, they are stickies
No, you will not lose IMEI

you cant use cyanogen rom bcoz it needs a custom kernel, and for you to be able to flash custom kernel you must have an unlocked bootloader..
im not an expert here but i think you cant unlock your bootloader if it is simlocked to your operator
you can only use modified stock rom as mention here by "gregbradley"
so i think you'll have to wait for 12 months for you to flash cyanogen based rom
Sim lock had nothing to do with boot loader unlock. Some Sim locked devices can be unlocked, some Sim free devices can not be unlocked

Well i already have the sim unlock code. so i Will still use the same sim card, but how do warp into the sim unlock mode? I tried setting in another sim card but the phone just asked me to insert the pin for that as well. Then again I would love to unlock my phone and use the same sim card, only difference the phone will be totally mine. So i can flash whatever rom and kernel that suits me. I have been using cyanogen since day one and would love continue to do so.

Your SIM unlock code will not unlock the bootloader, so you will still be unable to flash custom kernels.
Please read what I have said, SIM unlock has nothing to do with Bootloader unlock.
It is true most branded phones have bootloaders which cannot be unlocked and most SIM free phones canbe unlocked. But that is not an exclusive rule.
If you cannot unlock it now, entering a SIM unlock code will NOT unlock your bootloader.
To enter your SIM unlock code, contact your provider who would have given it to you.

You may want to not show your IMEI number to the world.
You can now goto the Sony website and unlock your bootloader using the official way. You can do this whilst you are still SIM locked, proving my point that SIM lock has nothing to do with bootloader unlock
What possible harm can be done with my imei number? Well sim lock certainly voids the service connection flashing builds earlier than 290.

I deleted the post, now final question deleting the sim lock literally will then not unlock my bootloader, that I am able to do as of now. But Completely deleting the sim lock will then leave my phone at my disposal, right? Since I have the sim unlock code, but I need to know how to remove the sim lock from my phone, cause using another sim card, which is not from the same company does not jump start the unlock mode.
Tell me if I got everything right. when I insert the sim unlock the sim lock will be completely gone from my phone right? regardless of what kernel or rom I use? and it can never come back?

Yes, just ask the provider of the sim unlock code how to enter it. It should be your network provider. SIM locks or restrictiosn are nothing to do with firmware, android versions or kernels.
Your bootloader can be unlocked now by visiting the official sony website.
Please do not confuse bootloader and sim lock. they are two different issues and you keep talking as if they are related.
I bought an LG Flex LS995 to get it unlocked and use it with Tmobile, the problem is that under settings it shows model number D955 instead of LS995, Ive tried the stock firmware for the sprint model but it fails, the phone doesn't even recognize my sim card and the imei number appears as unknown, is there any way to get the phone back to sprint and then unlock it?.

Hey guys, not trying to hijack you thread. But I also have similar problem. I have a sprint Ls995 And it thinks its a d959. Problem is when I bought the phone I didn't not know someone flashed a T-Mobile ROM on the phone. So I factory reset it in the car and now stuck with a phone that boots up and goes threw the setup wizard but force closes and restarts the setup wizard. Any help would be very appreciative. I can get into factory recovery and boot into download mode.

i ended up switching to a note 8 last week and i cant get updates even though i am using an att sim card on an att phone, this phone was given to me by a family member and it was frp locked but i got it unlocked, it was on the march update but because of the great people of xda i was able to update it through recovery to the april update, i couldnt go any further because i updated too far on bootloader 3 and couldnt get upgraded to bootloader 4 or 5, i tried odin but it will either immediately stop after clicking start saying 0 succeeded fail 1 but it doesnt have the red fail message and other times it will just be stuck on setup connection or initialization and i cant get it to work at all and i would like to get updates because maybe the note 8 will eventually get android 9(will be very late but it will be time to switch carriers anyways by the time it comes out)

I was able to get it to detect my phone but it still either freezes at setup connection, intialization or it will fail with a complete write operation fail error or a device info error, and most of the time it just stops after setup connection and doesn't continue, I have tried several usb ports and cords and I don't have another computer to use right at this moment, I was able to flash my s7 just fine with odin 3.13.1 so I have no idea why my new note phone is being a pain in the a**

How about smart switch on the PC? Does it recognize it as well and can you do a firmware recovery using smart switch?
Last bet I would bring it to a Samsung shop and get them to fix it under warranty.

7 day rmm lock state? Are talking about the OEM unlock switch in developer options? That's only for the exynos models Sm-n950f/ds. You won't get that on snapdragon because you have a locked bootloader. So rmm and the 7 day wait period doesn't affect you. But if its something else, sorry.
Your device is SM-N950U1 or SM-N950U?
Maybe take it back to att and see if they have any luck on updating the phone if not ask them for a replacement one.

So the rmm lock on the note 8 and above keeps you from enabling oem unlock for 7 days which could keep odin from flashing any firmwares official or not. My model number is N950U
If I can't fix it myself I'll just deal with it for now and get it fixed later because its not really bothering me too much other than I just got this phone from someone else

Yeah, but the thing is that the oem unlock switch might also be a switch that allows flashing official firmwares because it was also kinda like that on my old phone in the sense that if it was checked not only was factory reset protection disabled but it also allowed me to flash official firmwares without as much trouble, but I'm not really sure so correct me if I'm wrong

Okay you'll need the comsey Odin to flash the sm-n950u1 firmware on your sm-n950u model.
Do a search on how to convert sm-n950u to sm-n950u1.
On is Samsung carrier unlock version and the other is carrier version. (Doesnt mean bootloader unlock, both are bootloader locked)

Samsung changed that since the s8 days. SNAPDRAGONs won't get the OEM unlock switch at all anymore it's useless now so you'll never see it in developer options because they locked down the bootloader for the USA/Canada models which are snapdragons.

You'll better be on bootloader v3 then because if you'd on bootloader v4 you can't downgrade to nougat.
To find out the bootloader version it's the 5 number from the right of this n950usqu"5"crg7 notice the "5" that's the bootloader version.
You can find by baseband in about phone software info or dial *#1234# (look at the ap line)
You can go up but you can't go down!

Boot into odin and look for "Activation Lock OFF" if it says that, you probably can
