My Device is LG G Flex D958. It was rooted and also installed cwm recovery by Freedom Flex application. I wanted to update system software through OTA but after downloading 611 Mb OTA data, when started to install the OTA update it is stuck on cwm recovery. I have tried to wipe data/ factory reset but nothing happen. just stuck on cwm recovery. I want to flash the stock rom again but I could not able to enter even download mode. Download Up or Downlod down what ever button I press with power button, by all the way phone just gone cwm recovery and stuck on it.
Dont you have a nandroid backup in cwm? If stuck in cwr then just restore your backup

Yeah never do OTA updates if you're rooted, just restore your back up and you should be fine.

Hi
Ancient history - I rooted my Galaxy Note a few weeks ago with a Philz kernel. I didn't really know what I was doing, but it seemed to work fine. This morning, my phone was shut down, and wouldn't start up, sticking on the Samsung screen. I read other threads here, and it seems like to fix this, I need to flash the same Philz kernel using Odin when in download mode, then start up in recovery mode, mount as USB and extract my files, then restart and reinstall files, and I should be back to more or less where I was last night. /Ancient history
I've installed Odin, started the device in download mode, found the correct .tar, connected the phone, and started the process in Odin.
When it got to restart, the phone is again flicking the logo screen on and off, now with a yellow triangle and an exclamation. Does this essentially mean I need a different kernel? I was hoping that reflashing it with the same Philz kernel would solve the problem, but it appears not .
I solved this bit
I also solved this bit. Please see the edited original post for the current problems.

if you already have flashed philz kernel, try to boot into recovery mode with volume up+power+home button. Yellow exclamation is nothing to worry about, it can be removed once you have phone booted up.

Yeah, I found that I can get into recovery mode, I mounted and backed up my USB, and then I did a factory reset. The phone now runs, and I'm finding myself tempted to put in a KitKat rom, because I'm a glutton for punishment.

if you made nandroid backup from philz kernel then flash philz kernel, reboot recovery and try to restore. If you didnt include preload in the backup then that could be a problem. You can do a clean flash for the stock rom and then advanced restore and restore data.

If you tried what i mentioned and that didn't work then you can clean install stock rom and you can extract the backup on pc by using 7zip or compression tool and the reatore tbat using titanium backup pro. I haven't tried this ever but this ia what i was suggested by @nokiamodeln91

See if that helps.

So I just came off a bricked device caused by autorec to install twrp. That bricked my device pretty hard. I was able to get into download mode by using the SRK tool. After that I used LG flash tool 2014 to revert back to stock but instead get caught in a bootloop. I can not boot into recovery but I can boot into download mode. The most I've gotten was a few times it booted past the verizon logo and began to optimize the apps when after about 90/167 it restarted and bootlooped again. Any help would be appreciated as I'm pretty sure it can be fixed I'm just doing something wrong.
When you flashed through LG Flash Tool, did you use the KDZ method or the TOT method? I'm thinking that the method you're using didn't wipe data and maybe that's why it's bootlooping? When I restored to stock a couple days ago I had the same issue and it was because I was clicking "Normal Flash" which doesn't wipe data, instead of clicking "CSE Flash" which wipes everything.
I was able,to fix it. It just took a factory reset from recovery. The issue is it never worked before and would just reboot after the factory reset and still be stuck. Perhaps I let the battery run out on it and that kinda reset it and allowed a factory reset.
Now that I'm on 4.4.2 does anyone have a suggestion on a root and twrp installation method?

Do I went to upgrade my wife's G2 to a newer TWRP version. Instead of smartly doing this by flashing the new zip in twrp, I used JMZ's twrp app to flash the newer version. It said success and thought all was good.
When I return to recovery, it's just a black screen nothing loads. I rebooted and tried again. Same problem. Rebooted and tried flashing CWM through ROM manager. Same result - black recovery screen.
By now I've tried to access fastboot but fastboot doesn't recognize device (although ADB had no problem). I've attempted flashing the IMG file from the official TWRP app and also using the "dd" method on terminal Emulator.
I'm at a complete loss here. My guess is the recovery is corrupted and anything short of using KDZ or TOT method to return to stock and re-root is going to just keep frustrating me.
Thoughts?

yeah those twrp apps are more trouble than they are worth on the G2 at least.
I think there was a lollipop version of autorec floating around might have to google it
or you could try and pull the recovery.img out of one of blastgators zips and flash with dd then flash the zip in twrp
I dont understand one thing, can you boot the phone? It can turn on normally? Anyway about the recovery, have you tried with AutoRec.apk? Google for it and it should install some old version of TWRP then go and find 3.0xx bumped TWRP which is recommended in most of roms and flash it through the old one, after that reboot recovery and youll have the latest recovery

Yes the phone boots just fine. It's just the recovery that's been blasted. I'm gonna try the autorec you guys mentioned. I'll let you know how it goes.
When you say find a bumped version of TWRP, that is something different than the one on the official site right? Also, the version I found of autorec was the kitkat version. I believe I rooted her phone from Lollipop. Will this cause problems with running autorec? Moreover will it mess up my boot?

So tried autorec for the vs980. Unfortunately it can't find or install the Loki_tool. With that it closes the app. I've tried looking up info on the Loki tool, but I'm not finding anything that is being helpful.
I'm familiar with using the kdz method and might just do that and start fresh. Really wish I hadn't used that stupid twrp app now. I'll take any further suggestions that could save me from restoring stock.

Autorec works , it must. You have SuperSu? Go in supersu settings and uncheck something about 'name spaces' cant remember the whole thing. Then reboot, run autorec again.
