[Q] Time and date changes even if autotime update enabled!!! - Xperia SP Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

My phone's Time and Date changes frequently even if Auto Time and Date setting enabled.
and when phone connect with Mobile data traffic it changes automatically to correct time but after reboot....same problem again.
and a whatsapp error comes that "your time and date changed"..
What would be the problem?.. Its very irritates me..Need Help plz..

Firstly what ROM are you on? Stock CM ULB CM LB Slimkat etc?
The CM and slimkat LB versions had this issue in some cases but its seem to be gone recently for me. Theres usually no fix if turning off auto time rebooting and then turning on auto time and rebooting doesnt fix it.

Random reboots into recovery

Hello xda
I know there quite a few posts out there with people detailing their phones rebooting randomly but my phone just hit a new level of weird.
My i9000 reboots randomly into cwm recovery menu for no good reason (I know there is another thread about this but that instance is on the Nexus S and the thread has basically died). This started occurring shortly after I flashed slim ROM 4.2.2 build 5 (came from CM10.1 nightlies). Flashing the rom again and updating it to build 6 has done nothing to alleviate the issue.
I'm using the Semaphore kernel with no OC or changed settings, and having recently bought a new battery, I'm really not sure where to start looking for the problem.
If anyone can give me some tips it'd be greatly appreciate, thanks in advance.

hi
randomly i will got this problem if i m flashing backward. like from 4.2.2 - 4.2.1, or 4.1.x to 4.0.x. or repeatedly changing between kernel (i always do this to modified ROM to suits my settings n need) its probably due to changing partition in system or kernel clash (even i did all wipe) in internalsd.
Sorry to say. it will come worst sometimes if u ignore da problem or keep flashing ROM to avoid it. 'Luckily' about 2 hour ago my sgs just did. Constantly booting to recovery n its juz bootloop between kernel splashscreen n sgs white splashscreen after it.3 combo button will not working for recovery n only download mode accessible.
no more method for me . Juz flashing back to stock firmware JVU +CF-ROOT with odin was da answers
but if u dont familiar with odin.seek guide here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2149455
but use it as ur last method!
clashing between titan.....no! kernel maybe da reason.do some wiping before changing kernel or ROM. n format system if necessary before flashing!

Reboots into CMW with Slim Bean 4.3 and Semaphore
Hi guys, any news on the subject? Exactly the same thing happening to me. I did a clean installation of Slim 4.3, after using CM10 and everything seems to be working perfectly except it reboots into CWM every 1-2h!!! I haven't changed any configuration and didn't mess with the kernel that came with the ROM, which is Semaphore... Is it a kernel issue? Should I try to flash the latest version?

I run into the same problem with my current update of my I9000 to CM 10.2.1 and the Semaphore Kernel 3.3.0 (JB).
Any ideas on this issue from the pros?
I realized that it was happening to me only when I was loosing the network coverage, like being in the underground or roaming or things like that... I don't know if it happens to everyone but in my case it's definitely this. If there is no network available my phone will boot into recovery after a while. If the signal is OK, it doesn't happen. Maybe it has something to do with the modem?!

[Q] 4.2.2 breaks Wi-Fi

So after having a lot of troubles with 4.3.x on this phone I decided to go back to 4.2.2 until 4.4 is finally stable for us;
Only problem is, whenever I flash any kind of 4.2.2 ROM, my phone decides to get stuck on "Obtaining IP Address..." when trying to log in to my Wi-Fi, while it works perfectly after flashing 4.3 again.
I also tried multiple different Kernels but no difference at all.
Anyone got any idea what might be causing this? I really want to go back to 4.2.2 since on 4.3 I get problems like my phone taking ages to wake up from stand-by or not waking up at all and having immense battery drain caused by wlan_rx_wake.
I'm thankful for any help.

sorry, misread ><
could it be a problem with your home network? can you try another network around you?
i had this issue with custom 4.1.2 roms such as zaiben, but haven't read that anyone had this issue on any 4.2.2 roms.
Some roms cant connect to the WEP networks (or other ones i forgot witch is exactly ) Try changing your network securiti.

Alright, I'll try MIUI, also I always format /data, cache and dalvik.
There is no option in my recovery to format system but it says it does that automatically, when flashing a new ROM
MIUI Download will take about 20 minutes since their servers severely cripple download speeds.
In CWM in mount and storage you have format /system idk what recovery you are using.

Please do note that I greatly appreciate you trying to help me. <3
MIUI also fails at getting an IP address.
So problem must be with your rooter then. Can you restart it and change password ? BTW does your password contains only numbers or it also contains letters ? This is maybe strange but my sisters prone wont connect to our rooter if we set pass just numbers idk why.

How can the problem be with my router when the same problem appears when connecting to a different AP, but also doesn't appear when I'm on 4.3?
I'm sorry but that makes absolutely no sense.
My password is letters and numbers.
Your best bet is most likely to re-stock and start all over again from scratch
flash a kdz, then flash a recovery, flash your desired ROM and then see what wifi will tell you
Also in general, re-stocking every now and then is not the worst idea, it can help to solve quite some problems

Thanks, I'll try that; If it doesn't work I'll just have to go back to 4.3 and deal with the other problems.
Well something will work since it is not hardwer problem.I just reflashed mine slimbean rom to see if wifi is working and everything is fine...Tryed on liquid and now will flesh MIUI to check it too.

[Q] slimkat 4.4.2 stable, keyboard not working

Hi,
I flashed with CWM the stable Slimkat (Slim-galaxysmtd-4.4.2.build.3-OFFICIAL-3067) and I have to major problems:
- keyboard is not showing up. When it is supposed to pop-up. It doesn't.
- the 'back" button is not working at all. when I press it, the phone vibrates (it got the signal) but it doesn't proccess it.
I didn't have these problems with Slim-galaxysmtd-4.4.2.build.2.8.RC3-WEEKLY-2884.
Any ideas?
Thanx,
Sp

the same problem happened to me for the second time in 2 months, this is mind boggling, Nexus 10 stock 4.4.2
keyboard (stock and all other keyboards) stop working + back button also stops working out of the fkin blue..
I can't for the life of me understand what could cause this.. so f***in frustrating.. only a hard reset fixes this BS.
anyone has any info on this ?
This is due to flashing other gapps rather than the gapps provided by slimbean team. You just need to reflash the ROM with their gapps pack.

oh well is was like updated stable rom, which they updated like 02.10 and is it still having that clock freeze bug? and how is batter drain like? is it ok about it? and also about wi-fi? did you have any trouble about it? im planning to flash that also but waiting for a while to check till they fix it but they are working really hard tho.
Battery and wifi fine for me. I rarely have clock freeze bug so it doesnt bother me really, I guess if it made me late when Id set an alarm that would bother me tho......
You need to turn automatic date & time, and automatic time zone on (obviously with data enabled) at least that works for me on OmniRom... and there's another workaround for that.. try deleting CLock on priv-app folder... that has worked for some users
Hi, i too have this bug, I'm on the latest omni by goldenguy with latest baseband and Andi's multiboot kernel. The clock froze several times, even with Wi-Fi on. It corrects itself when de- and reactivating Wi-Fi. Further, the clock sometimes runs a bit late, about 2 minutes. I've checked the needed auto-time settings.
My gsm-data is always off, I'm using a prepaid card.
Never had a single freeze on maclaws cm 10.2.
Can anybody image what goes wrong?
Thanks!
PS I'm posting here, because XDA doesn't let me write in the Dev thread.

Pac-Rom Kitkat for i9300(12-Oct-16)

This is a compile done for a friend, as he found lp/mm roms to be unbearably laggy, especially when using social media/chatting apps. Just thought it could help some folks hoping to run an updated kitkat in their old(but great) galaxy s3. After some usage, his words were: this phone is part of my hand again .
This is a straight compile from cm11 sources for i9300, with the pac-rom source code(the best kitkat custom rom imo). Battery life, performance and stability are truly superb. Sources merged on 12-Oct-16, therefore having the latest stagefright and other security patches built-in. Wifi-fix for i9300 is also integrated. The rom is working fine with the latest boeffla-kernel(2.14) released for cm11, and thats the tested and recommended configuration. Some useless apps removed(like voicedialer, whisperpush, moviestudio, pacconsole and some more i can not remember) and i also removed pac console from the rom configuration settings framework as well. Have fun using it.

All credits go to cyanogenmod and pac-rom team for both their amazing roms and sources for i9300 and many other phones we use and love!
Thanks you,!!

Not having the phone means no screeshots . You can try it and put some up for everyone to see. You wont be disappointed.
What about gapps?? We have to dwnload it?
This is a clean rom, no gapps, xposed, or other mods included. use opengapps.
Really appreciate your efforts here... Great work on this rom... everything working fine... If possible can you put some time looking into Archidroid 4.4.4... IMO it was the best rom our s3 could ever have.... It has some wakeblock issues that might get resolved if we update the sources. Again thanks for your effort. S3 community owes you!

This problem persist with the latest snapshot of cm 11 also... nly install themes that you like... doesnt affect the functionality of the rom having themes installed.
Thanks for this great ROM. The only issue I have is I cant get 3G to work. Any suggestions? Would be much appreciated...
Its probably an APN problem, try inputting your carrier settings manually. 3g works fine on my friends' phone.
The rom is incredible but I need to restart my system with Wifi turned on so it can connect. If it disconnects (for any reason, disabling wifi, getting out of range etc), it only flashes "Connecting..." when connecting to the router again, but it doesn't connect
Try the fix in this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s3/help/wifi-fix-cm11-i9300-t2910872 . I already included the needed file in the rom, and it works fine here, but it couldnt hurt to try. Could it also be your router causing this?

Will try! And it isn't the router, it worked with cm12.1 (no issues whatsoever) and cm13 (the issue on cm13 was random disconnects but it was rom related too).
Hey!
Switched to this rom recently and being very impressed, it having all the features one could ever want yet stable and battery friendly. Definitely better than MM roms on S3.
However do we need an kitkat bootloader or do we even have one available? Still on the official 4.3 bootloader and just wondering if could get more stability if upgrading it to kitkat.
Kitkat bootloaders dont exist for the i9300, since it never officially got kitkat. Last semi-stock kitkat rom for the i9300 were ported roms from n7100 and the korean variant of gs3, and they did not include a bootloader, because it would hard-brick the phone. Having installed 4.3 before this was the best you could do. Having this rom installed in 2 phones(my friend's and my sister's) i definitely recommend installing boeffla's last cm11 kernel, no stability, battery, or features problems with it. Actually, apart from the rebooting on uninstalling themes bug, no other bug has been reported to me from them, no even ones in the thread.
