I find the most stable one to be:
Stock.
For Sense ROM's I like 1.4GHz/368MHz SmartassV2 governor, noop scheduler. For AOSP ROM's I like 1.3 GHz/240MHz SmartassV2 and noop scheduler. Never failed me
Running project X v4.1 with redux kennel v0.6
126Mhz - 348Mhz conservative screen off
126MHz - 1200Mhz smartassv2 screen on
Smooth and good battery life
Sent from my HTC Incredible S
MIUI 2.4.20 with Enki's kernel.
Lazy Governor.
245 - 1612 MHz max screen on
368 - 368 MHz max screen off
Works for me. Battery life will last about 24hrs with low use. Phone's always fast and responsive. Winner.

You need not have screen off separate when u have smartassv2.. it automatically drops to lowest u set when screen is off..

You should really consider clocking up to at least 1400 you'll notice a huge difference as long as your rom/kernel is stable at higher speeds. If your scared of overheating you can set a profile to change your clock settings once it reaches a certain temp.

But... It's smooth as it is just a question, why do you overclock? For games, or for smoothness in the os? Because I have a Nexus 7 for games and everything, I don't need a super powered phone. Even my N7 is usually underclocked
Another reason I don't overclock is because my phone is unstable at higher frequencies with my voltage settings. If I raise the voltages it will use more battery :/
But they said, I am setting my phone to 1.2GHz now to try

Smartass v2 is perfect for performance and battery life
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda app-developers app
For me smartass v2 is too perfect
Of course, also depends on what kernel are
yes smartassv2 is the best govenover for me,best battery live and performance.
Use this thread to post your CPU settings: Clock speed, Governor and I/O Scheduler. This kind of thread exists for other devices so I assume this is acceptable.
Here are mine:
Max Speed: 832 MHz
Min Speed: 832 MHz
Governor: lagfree
I/O Scheduler: vr
I'm trying to aim for maximum performance with my settings, ignoring battery life.
U can put governor performance
Do you think that's better than lagfree?
