Phone not launching after a CM Mod Install - Samsung Galaxy Mini

Hello everybody,
I've tried to install cyanogenMod for my Samsung Galaxy Mini (not the "I" edition). So I've copied the rom inside an external sdcard(renaming it to update.zip) and tried to install.
After reboot, my mobile stuck at "Samsung" logo. Odin and Windows detects my phone but doesn' recognise my phone in the downloading mode (even with samsung mobile drivers+no kies installed).
I have a "Recovery Mod for Bml" .
I've tried to install clockwordMod Recovery via this "Recovery" after the issue happened. I've tried another Rom but no success.
Help pleaaase!!
Thanks

In clockworkmode, there is the option "update.zip". That is not for your Rom file but to root your phone with Superuser.
To flash ROM file, do as instructed in Thread by op . i.e. the thread maker.
Doing other steps by avoiding the instructions, you may face this problem.
and if you want to go back to your stock rom, go here:

So, you're using ClockWork Mod ? If so did you follow this rule of flashing :
- Copy zip
- Install zip
- Wipe data
- Wipe cache
- Reboot
Also, make sure that you're running Gingerbread, Froyo tend to make custom ROM stopped working.

Can not flash CWM :(

Hi I'm trying to install miui for my sister in law on her Galaxy S but I can't seem to install CWM.
I've downloaded rom manager from the market clicked on flash recovery (fist option) then from the list chose samsung galaxy s. The next I clicked on reboot to recovery but when it boots into it, it says at the top Android system recovery (3e)
What am I doing wrong???? :s
PS I don't have a memory card inside my phone trying to install via the internal sd storage. The also I don't have access to my pc so need to do it off my phone. Please any help appreciated thank you.
Sent from my GT-I9100
When you boot into recovery press the buttons a couple of times. Ie, 3button combo to boot, release all the buttons and press the 3buttons again. I have had the same problems on 3sgs's and this seemed to work on them.
No luck
Any one else have any ideas. Please any help is appreciated.

I have clockworkmod recovery installed and when i click on reboot to recovery or use the 3 button configuration it only boots into the android system recovery.
I can not for the life of me get the Cwm recovery to boot up.
Is there a kernel I can flash with rom manager to get cwm installed
Sent from my GT-I9100
It's definitely rooted? What rom is it currently on?
Sent from my GT-I9000 using xda premium
Darkys rom. Plus i have titanium backup installed and backed up my apps. Superuser is working perfectly.
I want to install miui the official rom.
Anyway I can without having to use a pc??
Sent from my GT-I9100
If it's on Darky's rom, it should have cwm already! Not sure if you can do it from your phone now mate.
Once you've got the cwm sorted (hopefully it's a gingerbread rom) you need to format system, data and cache, then flash Miui.
Sent from my GT-I9000 using xda premium
Ahhh.
Flash darky RE via Odin. But if you are running darky kernel you should have cwm. Uninstall cwm app and try again.

If i understand well, you can't use odin because you don't have PC,right? Well:make sure that your phone is rooted. Go to market and get that application : "sgs kernel flashar " the one by neldar.
Then download a kernel for your firmware, and make sure you download a tar file or obtain a zimage file. Flash it with the application mentioned, you don't need any cwm. After that you flash the new kernel you should have a cwm installed.
If i understand wrong I'm sorry.

[Q] Think I've made a mistake

what I did:
- installed cwm
- installed cm7
- installed a different version of cwm
- installed cm9
If I turn on my phone, it loads up CM9 (ICS copy) that I found on this forum and installed on my phone using cwm.
I think I have a problem, because if I press the power button > reboot > recovery mode. The screen turns off, but when turning back on, a screen flashes up saying Samsung-Gio and some model number that is not my phone (too quick to see the numbers). I then get into the recovery menu.
If I try to install a different ROM or a different version of cwm to the one currently installed I get the assert failed: getprop error. When trying to install a different cwm the errors are related to model numbers. When trying a different rom, I get errors to do with the name of the rom.
Have I installed the wrong version of cwm? I'm really unsure what to do.
I tried doing a restore using the cwm, but my phone would get stuck on the boot screen. I can reinstall CM9 no problem, and I can re install the second copy of cwm that I downloaded.
Ideally, I would like to run CM7, or do a complete reset to stock rom
Try flashing the CWM for Galaxy Ace. Find it in this forum.
I think that you flashed CWM for Gio lol
But that's interesting, the recovery for Gio works in Ace lol

forgive me, but when you say flash the cwm for galaxy ace. I assume you mean go into recovery mode -> install from sd card -> cwm.zip etc?
I've tried doing that and I get assert failedrop(..) errors related to model numbers. I'm guessing it's telling me that the cwm version is not suitable for my phone, because it thinks I have a gio. Funny how it didn't tell me that when I was installing the gio cwm using the galaxy ace cwm.
I think your phone just evolved from ace to gio. lol. Maybe you can now flash some roms that are for gio. But dont try it yet as you might hard brick ur ace. Maybe you can go to download mode and flash a stock rom via odin. We need some more solutions as this is a rare case.

[PARTIALLY-SOLVED] Galaxy Ace S5830 - Can't boot into cwm recovery

Dear Community, greetings.
I have a problem as wrote in the title: I can't boot into cwm recovery. I am gonna try to summarize the main points that lead me here.
Assumption
I used to install custom ROMS flawlessy, following always the instruction etc...
Last rom I've installed was CM7.2 Apocalypse, Project Silk and Link2SD
I needed to restore stock rom
I searched with Google and came across the following solutions
I searched on XDA and came across the following solutions
What I have done...
I flashed using odin 4.38 -> GB 2.3.6 2012 October 2.3.6 S5830XWKTS S5830ITVKT2 downloaded from sammobile.com
I rooted the phone with upd_1.zip (that is attached to this thread)
I tried to install recovery-clockwork-5.0.2.6-galaxyace-fix.zip
...and trying to boot into recovery pushing POWER BT + HOME BT the phone stucks on the screen with "Galaxy GT-S5830" and the top-left corner was green
What I have done #2
I tried to use S5830XXKA6 but I dind't neither managed to boot properly (wiped data/factory and cache)
Tried to flash CWM directly with Odin using "One Package"
Could you kindly help me out?:fingers-crossed: I am also willing to give you further information as you ask.
Thanks everyone for your time.:good:
F.
---- PARTIAL FIX by myself ----
1. Format the sdcard in linux with GParted (you need to install android-tools-adb, android-tools-fastboot)
2. Flashed stock firmware S5830XWKTS S5830ITVKT2 with ODIN Multidownloader 4.38 (downloadeble from www.sammobile.com under ITALY)
3. Rooted with upd_1.apk and updated with Superuser 3.0 (attached)
4. Installed CWM 6.0.1.4
5. Restore an old backup of mine.
6. Rejoice
But your Phone is still working right ?

First of all, thank you very much for the reply. Then, the answer is yes and no. I flashed several firmwares. Some of them did work, others don't. Right now I managed to use the one I've mentioned before and
S5830XWKT7_S5830ITVKT1_ITV
S5830XWKP6_XWKPN
but trying S5830_XXKA6 it goes in bootloop also wiping data and cache.
Further information:
I noticed a problem with CSC. While booting in standard recovery an error message appeared saying something like "can't open /system/csc/XEU/system", so I've created the whole directory path and put the files that were in /system/csc inside. This issue is fixed. I am going to investigate and let you know if with other firmware I listed above I get the same behaviour.

HELP! Samsung Galaxy Ace possibly bricked ?

Hello guys, I'm new to android and I tried to root and is trying to install CynogenMod on an old Galaxy Ace.
I rooted it using a 'updated.zip' file by following an online guide and proceeded to install ClockworkMod.
After installing CWM and rebooting, I continued Cynogenmod . I realised that I cannot access the recovery menu(black screen). After failing many times, I reset the phone to factory settings and now the phone doesn't boot up.
However, I still can access download mode...
I there anyway to fix this ? Hope to get this phone fixed soon..

It's just a soft-brick so nothing to very about Since you can access the Download Mode, all you have to do is flash back the stock rom using odin. Now to unbrick your device, just use the following thread,
All Samsung Galaxy Ace S5830 Stock Firmwares (2.3.X) Ever Released
First download the required firmware for your region from the first post. Once you have done that, go to the link in the second post. Download all the files (usb drivers, odin and ops) except firmwares (which you have already downloaded from the first post) in the "Preparation" section. Now install the USB drivers and follow the "Single Firmware File Installation". Once you have finished flashing, go to stock recovery mod and do a wipe data/ factory reset & wipe cache (otherwise bootloop might occur). Then restart. Now you have successfully flashed the stock rom. Here is the link for rooting and installing CWM 5 on Samsung Galaxy Ace which you can install from stock recovery mode (always root first and then install CWM),

CWM 5.0.2.6 fix for Samsung Galaxy Ace S5830
Once you have installed CWM, you can flash any custom rom. CM 11 (KitKat) roms usually need CWM 6 but there is one CM 11 rom name KitKat for All that works well with CWM 5. Do post the result. Hope I Helped
P.S. Always post such question in the Galaxy Ace S5830 Q/A section. Reported to FM to move to right section.

Hey thanks for the quick reply :good::laugh: Any idea why windows doesn't detect the USB driver for the phone even when i've installed the driver ? It says "device failed enumeration" at the device manager screen

Can you tell me which version of Windows you are using now? Also try uninstalling the drivers and then reinstall it again. See if it works. Do post the result.
