Is there not a custom recovery available on 4.4.2 yet?
Is there a root option on 4.4.2?
I have a unlocked moto x
You say your unlocked. Your reference is to the boot loader right?

Recovery is separate from whatever the base OS version you're running. You can root 4.4.2 if you have non-stock recovery, but that's it. Given your post though, you should just leave the phone stock.

I posted this on the other thread you opened, which was basically the same thread.
Toss the toolkit and see this guide. Has everything you need to know. Use fastboot and learn more about this stuff...versus clicking in a toolkit.

Also, the dev section definitely has kit kat recoveries. 3 of them.

Hey guys!
I have an unrootable Droid 3, and I'm gonna sell it and get another one which I can't root.
I figur I'll have a hard time selling it here in Portugal once the languages in it are only English and Spanish.
How can I add anther language pack using its original rom?
Thanks in advance
Why not just use the correct root method?

if motofail_windows.zip has failed, it's because you missed a step.
1. download motofail_windows.zip
2. extract files
3. verify you downloaded and extracted all the files
a. motofail_windows folder should be 3.78mb
b. make sure you have a file named motofail that is 489 KB (may show as 490), if it is missing disable virus protection and redownload motofail
4. install moto drivers
5. Make sure your device is in USB debugging mode , attach it to your PC
6. change usb mode to charge only or pc mode
7. run run.bat in motofail_windows folder
8. follow on screen directions
I'll do it now.
Btw, what's ur opinion on the best recent rom for this phone?
Stability and speed are my major priorities.
my daily rom is Steel Droid: 5.6
but minmoto is more popular
For some reason steel droid rom wouldn't connect to gsm network.
So I've instalaed Avatar 4.2.2 and I'm really satisfied with it.
Thxfor ur help!

I currently just got a Verizon version moto x and using it on my at&t network.I'm new to the Verizon moto x and just want to know if 4.4.2 is rootable and unlock boot loader on the Verizon version? If so will it cause me not to be able to get connection using at&t or does it not matter?
Short answer. No. Sorry.
If it was on a version lower than 4.4.2 you could root it. But its on 4.4.2, so no can do.
However, go to general thread and see the China unlock thread. For $45 you can unlock the bootloader..IF your phone is on his list. Then you are golden!
That's the only hope you have. ?

Wait, dev edition? Or regular?

Thank you for the info
I came across the article below a few days ago, and downloaded the file in the link, and realized it's been years since I switched or upgraded a recovery IMG on a phone... How would I install the recovery image? It says flashable, but is it flashable from recovery or adb? What's the proper process?
Also, I have twrp manager installed on my phone, and I went and looked for the recovery in the 'install recovery' section of the app after I saw the article. The closest thing I could find in the menu was 'ghost'. It's petty clear that the custom images aren't named directly after the device, and in pretty sure the 'ghost' recovery image is the right one, just looking for some confirmation...

Seems to be.
I don't usually update unless I need to personally. If it ain't broke, why fix it...is my motto. Lol. So I haven't used it...but you can get it in that thread. ?
So I unlocked my moto x bootloader and installed 4.4 stock rom. I'm a ting user, so my phone uses Sprint towers. Now I need to update. Like a dummy I tried to take the ota and my phone boot looped. So I went into titanium backup and froze the update. But I would like to get the latest stock rom.....what do I need to do?
Do you have a custom recovery? Xposed? Removed any system apps?
Ota won't work if you answered yes to any of those.

TWRP I think....sorry forgot that
Does anyone know how to root running 4.4.2? Only method I can find is to downgrade first to 4.2.2. If that is the only way, can somebody point me the way to a download and instructions to do this for the g flex?

supposedly you cant root with a factory 4.4.2. you have to downgrade first.
I've already answered you in one thread you posted this. Try to keep these in one place and you'll get some help. Use stump root from the g3 forum.
Also, questions go in q and a. development is for devs to release eek.

Tried yesterday even asked developer about my model to see if it could get supported. If so, he would be a hero to many a g flex owners
It looks like the only way to root D950G running stock 4.4.2 is to downgrade. Does anyone know where instructions are for that?
Oh I'm in wrong section. Dame, just created new thread, didn't see any other selections. Will look harder next time ****

When stump root said not supported did you select to brute force it? It worked perfectly on my T-Mobile flex so don't see why it won't work for yours.

Yes I brute forced twice. It seems all root methods work on t mobile but not my D950G model or at&t D950. Only way to I to downgrade so far. I have rooted a wack of phones and this is the easiest method ever, no screwing it up.

Well that's strange. Anyways of i get a second I'll make a twrp zip of the kit Kat for your phone. Then you can just flash that and before rebooting flash the latest supersu zip, like what D-Fuse made for T-Mobile.
---------- Post added at 07:49 PM ---------- Previous post was at 07:32 PM ----------
By the way did you download the supersu apk and open it after running brute force. Stump doesn't install it and i had to open it and update su binary once before everything worked

Thanks but I am on kit Kat, I need to downgrade to jelly bean 4.2.2 to root. No I didn't install super user because it said device not supported
I'm taking about doing this with your stock kit Kat kdz. Then follow those instructions so after flashing the zip you'd flash the supersu zip. That would leave you on stock rooted kit Kat

Or you could make it yourself following this
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2666967
Do you think I could use the first option? I see sprint, at&t, and t mobile. I use rogers, model almost at&t D950G compared to at&t's D950.
For the second option, is it ok to use for my flex if I get kdz/tot for this phone? Just wondering because it only says G2. Thanks
That's how i made the Sprint downgrade zip and D-FUSE made all his zips. Just download the latest kit Kat kdz for your phone and follow the instructions i linked. It's very easy, should only take an hour or so depending on your computer
Cool have everything downloaded will give a shot later. There's an app call lg phone from, it tells everything about phone and even gives link to your kdz
