Hey guys!
I have an unrootable Droid 3, and I'm gonna sell it and get another one which I can't root.
I figur I'll have a hard time selling it here in Portugal once the languages in it are only English and Spanish.
How can I add anther language pack using its original rom?
Thanks in advance
Why not just use the correct root method?

if motofail_windows.zip has failed, it's because you missed a step.
1. download motofail_windows.zip
2. extract files
3. verify you downloaded and extracted all the files
a. motofail_windows folder should be 3.78mb
b. make sure you have a file named motofail that is 489 KB (may show as 490), if it is missing disable virus protection and redownload motofail
4. install moto drivers
5. Make sure your device is in USB debugging mode , attach it to your PC
6. change usb mode to charge only or pc mode
7. run run.bat in motofail_windows folder
8. follow on screen directions
I'll do it now.
Btw, what's ur opinion on the best recent rom for this phone?
Stability and speed are my major priorities.
my daily rom is Steel Droid: 5.6
but minmoto is more popular
For some reason steel droid rom wouldn't connect to gsm network.
So I've instalaed Avatar 4.2.2 and I'm really satisfied with it.
Thxfor ur help!
Search google for: Droid 3 (your language) pack

Is there not a custom recovery available on 4.4.2 yet?
Is there a root option on 4.4.2?
I have a unlocked moto x
You say your unlocked. Your reference is to the boot loader right?

Recovery is separate from whatever the base OS version you're running. You can root 4.4.2 if you have non-stock recovery, but that's it. Given your post though, you should just leave the phone stock.

I want to at least root it I need my xposed framework
I posted this on the other thread you opened, which was basically the same thread.
Toss the toolkit and see this guide. Has everything you need to know. Use fastboot and learn more about this stuff...versus clicking in a toolkit.

Also, the dev section definitely has kit kat recoveries. 3 of them.
So I unlocked my moto x bootloader and installed 4.4 stock rom. I'm a ting user, so my phone uses Sprint towers. Now I need to update. Like a dummy I tried to take the ota and my phone boot looped. So I went into titanium backup and froze the update. But I would like to get the latest stock rom.....what do I need to do?
Do you have a custom recovery? Xposed? Removed any system apps?
Ota won't work if you answered yes to any of those.

TWRP I think....sorry forgot that
Sorry guys but ive been searching already and cannot find anuo to date way yo do this. Towel root doesnt work for an updated VXW LG G2 and niether does stump. Can someone help me out? I really have tried finding this myself but seems like something must have recently changed. Thanks and sorry.
Kdz to 24a will surely work as it is still perfectly rootable.
Stump root using brute force method works on 26A, it is the only working root for 26A, besides KDZing back to 24A, rooting, and updating.
Yep, stump root works with brute force. Takes 5-10 minutes but you'll get there.
Freedom One-Click works as well for installing TWRP. I just did both procedures the other day on a refurb 26A unit I got as a warranty replacement.

I can't help I'm afraid, root hasn't been an issue for me in a very long time, I've been on AOSP ROM since 12B. There are plenty of users who can help here though.

Np thanks. I downloaded latest Stump but wondering how you do the 'brute force' method. Does it auto start a brute force method of sorts?
(that's directed at any one else too)
---------- Post added at 08:39 PM ---------- Previous post was at 08:36 PM ----------
I'm an idiot. You just run it and it auto detects that it has to brute force.
Thanks. I'll let it go and see what it does. :good:
Edit2: Worked great.

And kernels??
I wonder if I should wait to ROM, since we'll get Lollipop by end of next year (at least on Verizon it'll take that long).

26A isn't magic, to custom ROMs is just another radio for the most part... There isn't a huge compatibility difference and just about any aftermarket ROM/kernel built for 24A will work on 26A, and vise versa. In any ROM or kernel read the first few posts, they usually give the requirements for them, notice most say "official KitKat baseband" and not a specific version, although a few ROMs do specify a specific version, always read and ask for each specific instance if your not sure.
I can not get anything to root my phone on 26a. Tried stump and towel , now im debating on going back toot 24a but i don't wanna risk losing everything
Dude you're doing something wrong. Stump worked on the 4 G2 Verizon phones I've tried it on. 26A.
Did you enable usb debugging? Turn off app verify, etc. What happens after it reboots twice after brute force?
Give some more effin info than "it doesn't work".
I click use brut force it's goes for a while Then states device not supported

Hrm, it has to be one of the silly phone settings.
You want: USB Debugging enabled, (next couple ar ein Security settings)Verify Apps disabled, Allow Unknown sources enabled.
Is your phone currently encrypted? Did you enable that feature already? Try removing the lock screen, if you currently have one set.
Uninstall Stumproot. ARE YOU SURE you're on the latest version that can brute force 26A? Enable the above and reinstall. He put out updates once it became available, since people said they were getting "unsupported device" errors.
Hi, first time posting. Please be kind. Happy Holidays for whatever you may be celebrating or not.
I treated myself to an AT&T D950 for $200 new. I unlocked it, used ioroot to unlock easily, and removed some painful bloatware.
I'm now trying to get Lollipop OTA through Software Update but I'm just getting an error message that the phone is not registered.
Can anyone shed some light as to how to deal with this?
I know the TMo model is D959 but from research here it seemed to nbe worthwhile to go this route.
Thank you.
Yeah even though it's unlocked you're getting that era because it wants to try to go to t mobile towers and get the a_t_&_t software because it's an a_t_&_t mobile phone is the best way I can explain it to you and there also is no way to my knowledge lollipop for any lg flex period
---------- Post added at 11:12 PM ---------- Previous post was at 11:10 PM ----------
So my only guess in order to you for you to get the most resent version of software for the AT&T phone would be flashing it using LG flash tools and the most recent .To T file
---------- Post added at 11:12 PM ---------- Previous post was at 11:12 PM ----------
And I could be wrong someone correct me if I if so
Very good. But is there any way to remove all the AT&T system and install the T-Mobile system? It would be very weird to have the system connect with AT&T but all other functions through T-Mobile. Plus, I do not have an AT&T account.
Please advise. Thank you in advance.
