I'm thinking of getting a Nook HD+ for storing and viewing my photos. Could somebody please let me know what the actual size of the photos would be on screen. I estimate it would be about 7x5 inches, is that right? Also, is the whole screen available to use or are there bars across the top and bottom for notifications etc. I use the 'Quickpic' app on my phone for photos and would expect to use this on the Nook.
Thanks.
If you use cyanogenmod you can full screen the image with expand screen feature. I'm not sure about stock rom.

Hello XDA,
I'm back in school come September for my 5th semester of Computer Engineering, what I'm looking for is an app/widget where I can have a small photo of my timetable/schedule and when pressed will open up a larger picture of my timetable to check class locations/times and whatnot.
I've tried a few picture frame widgets but none of them really seem to have the ability to link to a larger picture where more detail can be seen (as the font is rather small and need the larger image to read). I would be happy if I could even create an icon called SCHEDULE that when pressed opens up the picture of my schedule, as long as its not as slow as navigating to my Gallery, selecting the folder in which the picture is stored, and then scrolling to find the picture of my schedule.
Does anyone know of an app or somehow that I can make this happen?
Cheers
A mate sent me a picture from his stock HTC one to my stock HTC one today via MMS, and the picture displays as a small image in the middle of the screen rather than full screen, and its not possible to use pinch (or reverse pinch) to zoom into it to make it larger. Is this normal? Seems odd that a picture from an exact same phone only shows as a tiny image and not the same size as taken. I understand that there are network limits on MMS size, but how come the image gets miniaturized rather than still show as full screen?
I just got the B&N HDMI out adapter for Nook HD+
I'm seeing the output on my panasonic plasma as just a little wider than 4x3.
It's also cropping off the top and bottom a bit.
My phone has HDMI out and it has settings to adjust the output to fit my plasma.
Does the Nook HD+ not do full screen or am I missing something?
I see no customization controls for the HDMI out.
Also if I play a movie, it too does not fit the screen fully on the tv.
Running verygreen CM 10.1 6/30 build on internal (not sdcard)
I can't do anything to change main screen for running apps, but for videos with mx player if I change setting to stretch (vertical) then change my plasma to stretch horizontal (horizontal fill) it looks proper and fills the screen,
though it does cut off just a little bit on the sides.
I guess that's how everybody uses it??
The few times I have used HDMI it has fit my screen. I have been thinking of trying to switch it to VGA to use an old monitor and was wondering if I would have issues like what you described.

thanks for replying.
so when you ran it, it filled your 16x9 flat screen fully edge to edge on all sides?
What build of CM are you running?
I'm thinking it might be something in the build of CM 10.1 I'm running.
You might be ok doing that (VGA) if you run the resolution changer app.
Yes it filled my flat screen edge to edge but I used Carbon and Stock never CM. That could be the difference.

Click to collapse
I also use the TV settings to adjust the picture to fill the screen.

On my Nook tablet... when I enlarged the web text it would automatically adjust so as to fit it all in the screen from side to side, no matter what size. There is a plus sign and minus sign at the lower right that would allow me to adjust the size of print.
On my Nook HD...I can enlarge the text but it doesn't fit it all on the screen so I have to scroll side to side to read the text.
When I talked to a Barnes and Noble employee, he suggested downloading the Dolphin app which would in turn let me make the adjustments.
Does anyone know how to make the adjustments without Dolphin?
Also this is for web reading and not for reading books as those have their own adjustments.
Thank-you
I've noticed the color of the thumbnails in the stock Samsung gallery app differ when they're actually enlarged. Anyone else notice this? It doesn't happen with third party gallery apps, but I'd prefer to keep the stock gallery app simply because it plays back the slomo video. If you haven't noticed, check it out. Watch the vibrant reds/blues slightly shift to a lighter red/blue.
Now, I've experimented with this, and noticed it does this when the "Adaptive display" setting is left on. However, leaving it on and testing this out with a third party gallery app, it worked perfectly. The display adapted and the colors matched. Of course the color will be the same once enlarged so as long as you change the display's screen mode to "AMOLED photo". However, I'd prefer the adaptive setting because I don't like the warmer white tones when using my phone for everything else besides photo editing.
Leaving it on "Adaptive display", the software should know when I am actually opening a photo and adjust the colors so they're accurate. But now I'm thinking that there's a glitch with the stock gallery. The adaptive display setting is working fine with third party gallery apps, just not that stock gallery app. Which is sorta ironic....
Thoughts?
I noticed that too, doesnt really bother me.
What does bother me is how there is no "Capture" feature anymore what playing back a video and how trimming videos takes a ridiculous amount of time all while not being able to retain 4K resolution. My Note 4 trimmed 4K videos in seconds and kept the resolution.
