No, of course not.
It's another firmware version and you will brick your device...
There's a small chance that could work but only and if new update is affecting some "unimportant" files.
That's not case here and I wouldn't recommend something like that...
Or I missed something and there is 761 kernel (stripped ftf)!?
Anyway - you have to have prerooted firmware, you can't do that with stock ftf...

Plese refer to the threads linked above.

I guess we can create flashable zip from ftf only, cause not all system files gets updated through ota.
Sent from my C5502 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
is the flashable zip already pre-rooted? I mean, if I flash it, will I lose root privileges? I am currently on .244 firmware and rooted and I am just worried that if I flash this, I may lose root.
make a nandroid backup before trying it out. it's just what you get from an OTA flash which retains all user data, so I reckon it does nothing to root

So if I flash the 2.67 firmware, I won't lose my root privileges that I acquired on my .244 firmware? Sorry for the stupid question as this is the first time I will try to flash a zip firmware
Is it better to upgrade the ROM software via PCC or OTA is as good ?

Anyway, one of the two .. Decide for yourself! And the next time, please not open a new thread for this question

I would flash an ftf from the forums or make your own, as the bootloader gets updated. A failure during the OTA or PC companion flash at the moment bootloader is being updated could result in a hardbrick

Or so :good:
I could be wrong but it has mentioned that Flashtool uses the same protocols as PCC and flash tool is a way for those with unlocked bootloaders and modified system to flash stock roms where trying to use PCC would result in failure. The same issues can be experience by both methods and corrected by both (reflash in Flashtool and a replair in PCC). So as far as my understanding goes this statement seems misleading and fear inducing.
Yes, I see your point. And the risk is negligible. I just am not comfortable with bootloader being updated. "OTA".
That's just me though

I was using OTA via home wifi. If you have a stable internet, OTA is more easier.

You can use Flashtool to download and flash your country's firmware. No root required.
See: How to package and flash stock roms in FTF format.
I noticed you're from India. I already packaged a stock 10.5.1.A.0.283 generic Indian FTF for the C6602 that you can use here.

Brother I already use android 4.4.4...
But can u tell me the step wise as I am new to xperia earlier I was using micromax.. So please can you guide me step wise

If you go to the guide that I linked you to in my earlier post, it tells you how to do everything step by step with images.
Download the stock rom I linked, then follow part 1 and part 3 of the guide. I cannot explain it any better than the guide I already created.

I have successfully updated my Moto X to lollipop.. I was would like to root my phone now but I have a question..
If I root my phone now.. How will I get the future updates??
I have rooted my previous phones but there I could get updated roms with updated system version.. But here I don't see any roms..
Thanks in advance.
Sent from the future...
As long as you don't change any of the system files you will get the updates. If you flash other Roms you have to use their updates or flash back to stock to take the update.

Another picture
are you flashing files for 4.4? If you were on 5.1 then you should try files for 5.1.
And forget about 4.4. for now. You need to flash 5.1 and only after your phone will boot, then look for guide to downgrade.
you many need to flash the stock recovery (from 5.1) first, as your bootloader appears to be LOCKED now. after then, try flashing the stock 5.1 files. if successful, then you can unlock again via sunshine, flash TWRP recovery, then try to upgrade to 6.0. I'm pretty certain you should not try to downgrade, as that tends to cause problems.
Thanks
Just I'm downloading 5.1
