After you unlock the bootloader you can flash a custom recovery and that will allow you to root your current ROM, install custom ROMs, etc.

What were the steps you did after you unlocked the bootloader at HTCDEV.com?
What custom Recovery did you install?
At what point did it start constant reboots?

Yes, you can use GB custom ROMs, just don't try to go all the way back to Froyo.

Yes its possible
Root your device(search for root locked bootloaders)
Install dual recovery cwm and twpr(for locked bootloaders)
look for roms that states lb or locked bootloaders
flash them

Hello, i have an Xperia Z1 C6906, and it has locked bootloader, but i rooted it and flashed dual Recovery. If i want to install a custom rom in recovery just like most of the devices is possible? or i have to use the flash tool on the pc?
I just want to install a AOSP rom, im sick of Sony UI.

If you want to flash an aosp rom, then you would have to unlock your bootloader and flash the rom through recovery

Yes you can install custom rom but need to be based on Sony firmware
For AOSP ROM you need to unlock the bootloader & flash it through recovery
Flashtool is to use for flashing stock ftf

well u can still find another launcher for your z1 and use Xposed framework to modify a lot of things since u have rooted
custom rom like CM is a (slightly) more experimental stuff and are usually used by people with more experience in android.
not recommended for u at the moment bro (well u cant unlock anyway)

No there is no hardbrick . If you are not on the right bootloader and modem the rom may not boot , so you just flash the right ones.
If you want to came back to LP flash lollipop last booloader and modem and you are ready to go.
Basically , bootloader allows you to boot the rom , modem is everything related to signal , wifi...etc if you are in the wrong one you will not have signal or some things working

Yes, you can. First backup your android 6.0.1 from your recovery, in case something go wrong, you can go back.
Won't flashing/ downgrading the bootloader brick the phone ? How do you flash the LP bootloader and modem? Please can you give a step by step guide and where the correct files can be found? Thanks
