No there is no hardbrick . If you are not on the right bootloader and modem the rom may not boot , so you just flash the right ones.
If you want to came back to LP flash lollipop last booloader and modem and you are ready to go.
Basically , bootloader allows you to boot the rom , modem is everything related to signal , wifi...etc if you are in the wrong one you will not have signal or some things working

Yes, you can. First backup your android 6.0.1 from your recovery, in case something go wrong, you can go back.

Won't flashing/ downgrading the bootloader brick the phone ? How do you flash the LP bootloader and modem? Please can you give a step by step guide and where the correct files can be found? Thanks

Ok I am not an expert but first thing is if u are flashing a custom kernel then your bootloader must be unlocked.Since you have a locked bootloader so u have to flash recovery for locked bootloaders only else ur phone will not boot. Also being on a locked bootloader, u cannot flash roms like aosp(cm,aokp, pac etc.) U can only flash stock based roms which don't require u to flash custom kernels.

[Q] Custom Rom Flashing

Well hello, I'm kinda new to Xperia Modding and I'm trying to install a custom rom on my phone.. I just have some questions first:
1. Is there any custom rom that allows me to send apps and else to my external SD Card?
2. My phone can't unlock the bootloader since I checked that and it says it can't.. can I still install roms that way?
3. I'm trying or I want to install the Evo9 Custom Rom .. and my phone specs are the following:
Model: C6943
Android Version 4.4.4
Baseband Version 8974-AAAAANAZQ-10270054-51
Core Version: 3.4.0-perf-g0109737
Compilation Number: 14.4.A.0.108
What do I exactly have to do in order to install that custom ROM on my phone? since the tutorial for lockedbootloader phones is really confusing..
/!\ for locked bootload
If you come from 761 or before
- Flash the ROM by recovery
- Flash the Gapps
- Power off
- Flash by flashtool the good kernel (C6902/03/06/43) for your device 108ftf strippedkernel by Nut...
Reboot and enjoy

What's 761 exactly? that number doens't say anything to me actually ._.
and the "flash by flashtool the good kernel" isnt' making sense to me since I assume I'm ignorant.. please could someone explain those things to me?
Thanks in advance.
1. Yes
2. Yes but only stock based roms
3. You have to get phone rooted and custom recovery installed

In general, you have to return to stock and relock to get the upgrade. Which model do you have? If you have the XT1063 then there is an update that you can flash from TWRP with the latest Lollipop (22.21.16). I believe it also works for the XT1064, but am not certain.

If you're on stock rom, make sure you haven't disabled any system apps or even uninstalled them.
Other than that just flash the stock rom, if needed, otherwise just the stock recovery.
Also, IMHO, I don't think you need re lock your bootloader. It's just a superfluous step

Latest Bootloader - Can I Install Lollipop or KitKat Roms?

Hello
I have a moto g titan xt1068 dual sim which was originally running stock lollipop 5.02 and was updated with the OTA stagefright update and then the OTA MM6.0 official by motorola.
I have since installed custom roms cyanogen 13.0 and cyanpop 6.2
I know my bootloader is now the latest, so my question is can I now only install MM based roms? or can I still install KK & LP based custom roms?
or will installing LP or KK based roms hard brick my device?
Many thanks for any help
i'd like to know it too...
I'm not sure, but I can't really see why not. The bootloader being the latest changes jack squat on the question of being able to install older versions of Android or not. I mean, I WAS able to install the stock LP ROM on the MM bootloader, but your mileage may vary.
Yeah you can. Just don't try to downgrade your bootloader while downgrading to previous stock Android version. Itll brick your phone.
But just flashing custom Roms is safe.

That's bullsh-t.. You can always downgrade your rom, but you have to be sure you're not downgrading your bootloader. So if you're using oneclick installer you have to remove the command from the script which will try to downgrade your bootloader. Also after downgrading you have to be super sure that you will not update it with OTA!
Btw.: I'm not sure downgrading through fastboot can even brick your phone.

That's right.. You can touch your bootloader only when you have to upgrade it, for example in case of updating to Android N. Which I think will never happen (of course officially).
Here you can find a nice guide to downgrade your Android version.

Reverto to stock after root and custom Rom

Hi all. I would like to revert the phone to stock after root and custom rom. Ther's a guide? I can't find anything on the forum. Thanks at all.
I think you just flash the stock firmware over what you have.

Thank's! So, no warry bout unlocked bootloader?
You might want to relock it first, but I don't think it matters. I am not sure though. Just basing this off my time with the S3 and S4 back in the day. With those phones it didn't matter. The S10 line are newer so it might with them.

I presume you want the boot screens to revert to normal without the Bootloader Unlocked warning screen.
If so, see my post HERE

I am on lineage os (Ivan_Meler) not rooted
under the developer there is no OEM option showing. My bootloader is unlocked, recovery is TWRP.
how can i goo back to stock ?
Just to be sure: Before I flash a custom firmware on a S10(+,e) like lineage, there is nothing to back up like DRM keys or certificates? (I had SONY phones before. If you reverted to stock on those some SONY apps would not work anymore if you did not backup the DRM keys).
Hello guys,
Similar question what is the procedure when I want S10e with flashed custom rom (TWRP Recovery), rooted and unlocked bootloader to return to stock firmware?
