Just wondered how long it takes Samsung to roll out an update normally? ICS has been out only in Germany, and, its been a few days with no other countries seeing an update.
This is my first Samsung (and Android) device, so quite interested!
I live in the UK and have a Sim-free handset from Amazon UK.

Thanks,
As in an update to the current ICS (LPY) version, as if the one out now is a beta?
Interesting!!

Nah it is official release, but as it has many issues I don't think they roll it out to other country's so as it is. So they will produce a new one, I guess they will roll it out on Germany first, as I have mentioned on other threads it is like the la1 a buggy gingerbread at mid of January's if I remember right.

The same thing happened with the galaxy s2, the initial ics rollout had so many issues, everyone had to revert. I don't think the issues where quite as severe as ours though

OK so hear me out. It seems Nexus devices sold from February onward are shipping with JOP40(X) builds that were never released OTA to older devices.
For example:
New Nexus 4s (as of early February) are shipping with JOP40G.
New Nexus 10s (as of early February) are shipping with JOP40F.
Now, when JOP40G was released to AOSP, in the commit logs, someone made a mention about merges from JOP40E and JOP40F. We know JOP40F is for the Nexus 10, so what was JOP40E for? I'm curious if JOP40E is a build shipping on new Nexus 7 devices.
Has anyone bought a new 3G or WiFi-only Nexus 7 in the last 2 weeks? Did it ship with JOP40E?
If anyone does get one with that build, please get me the bootloader version, baseband version, and URL to the OTA file for the JOP40E -> JDQ39 update file. If you need help with this, I can help you. Having this information will allow me to host the file in the permanent archive repository on randomphantasmagoria.com and link to it in the N7 OTA URL sticky thread. This information will need to be acquired right after taking the tablet out of the box, before applying the 4.2.2 update that'll pop up when you turn it on for the first time.
Thanks!
Haven't you thought that JOP40F - previous N10 build?

JOP40F is what ships presently. If you bought an N10 today, that is what would be on it when you turned it on for the first time. Likewise JOP40G for the Nexus 4. I'm not sure what you're getting at.

My point is, if JOP40F = N10 and JOP40G = N4, does JOP40E = N7? If you bought an N7 right now, today, what build would be on it when you turned it on for the first time. The only way to know is to ask someone who had bought one in the last couple of weeks, which is the point of this thread. I have a suspicion that it would be JOP40E.

Just bought this today and I'll be returning it but here's what it shipped with from Walmart.

OK so it came with JDQ39 out of the box? There wasn't a system update that you applied first?

Well that answers the question as far as the Wi-Fi version is concerned. Thank you!
Now, what about the 3G version? Has anyone bought one of those in the last week or two? If so, did you note what build was installed out of the box?

OK so we definitely know that Wi-Fi models are shipping with JDQ39. Thanks, guys. Anyone buy a new 3G version recently that can verify on that end?

I'm 75% sure that 3G versiipons are being shipped with JDQ39 now as well, since even Wi-Fi versions do

You're probably right...I'd just like to get verification of that from someone who got one.
I have a 3G nexus 7,bought it in December though. Current build number - JDQ39
Thanks.
Is there anyone who purchased a 3G model in the last 3 weeks that can tell me what build came shipped on it, before any OTAs were applied?
Mine is wifi only bought last week JDQ39

My Nexus 7 HSPA (received last week) came with some JVSxx ROM, which was "Android 4.2". Tried to Google the build number, but didn't find any hits. Anyway, it didn't last long since an OTA update was pushed to it almost immediately and I quickly rooted/flashed it to an AOKP build.

It's actually JVP15S. That was the original 4.2 build that shipped on the first 3G N7s off the production line.

I think it's based on IMEI/SN rather than location, so it will be nice to know the production date (212K, 301K, 302K etc...) of those who managed to receive an OTA update.
306K here - nothing yet.
303k turkey ota come not yet dudes.

212K. No sign of updates here at Silicon Valley.
Location has nothing to do with when you'll receive the OTA update.

What else does? And any source that states that?
btw. Austria and still nothing ...
I have an N4 and N7.. been monitoring both forums.. I don't think I've seen a single person say they got the OTA via OTA.
I also would have expected to see Engadget, etc, annc that 4.3 was rolling out.
So I'm not sure it's really being pushed yet.
Hi, I'm going to recieve the chromecast tomorrow and I was looking at the google cast app on the playstore and it says that it's not compatible with my device. Has any HTC One owner experienced this? I don't want to sideload it since I want to get notified of the updates...
Any ideas?
Thanks

I think it's country restricted, not a single reason for the device not to meet the requirements. Well I'm sure I'll find the way around it, I was just hoping for someone to come up with a idea

Yeah country restricted. I set mine up on the One 4.2.2 ARHD 12.
Fwiw you don't need the app for anything. Setup can be done through a web browser. It just makes it easier by automatically connecting to the hotspot and stuff

I'm running the stock rom on my One and it works just fine. It is definitely just a country restriction.

I know we have a lot of threads discussing 4.3 already, but those seem to be for people who have successfully downloaded it and worked with it. I'm curious to see how many others are still waiting on the update. I live in Canada and so far I've seen no sign of it, my device tells me I'm still up to date with 4.2.2. I don't have 3G but I regularly connect to WiFi.
It's not a very big deal... the update doesn't seem to have much that I need, except maybe a slightly faster speed when doing things. But yeah, I'm curious. Share your locations if you're still waiting.
EDIT: I really wish there was a way to edit the titles for threads...
EDIT 2: Thank you for that.

Im in russia with a UK model still waiting. Im too busy at the moment to actually flash it so im going to be patient and wait for OTA.
It seems we are always last on the list here to get OTA or any updates.
Could any Russian users post and let me know if they have the update
Kind regards
Richard

Canada here,
Still waiting on my N4 and N7.
N4 is on and off 3G doesn't seem to make a difference.
Last time around, the N7 got it within the week and N4 had to wait 2+ weeks until it arrived.
Austria; 212K N4 (stock everything) still nothing ...
I am on a custom rom and I am too lazy to go back to stock. Would wait for a week untill PA or CM have cooked their 4.3 builds.
UK, London - Tried the framework thing - Nothing....
Phone bought in UK, using Norwegian sim-card. Now travelling in Europe. Have checked (WIFI) in Germany, Poland, Lithuania, Latvia, and Estonia. Still nothing.
Croatia still didnt get it hopefully soon
No updates in Bangladesh either...

check the excellent OTA thread, it should be easy enough for moderately literate geeks to flash it in a breeze

I am waiting, but not for the OTA that arrived on my phone a couple of days ago. I am waiting for all the bugs to get squashed and for the apps to get updated to accommodate 4.3.
