[Q] unlink ringtone and notification volume in 4.4.2 - Xperia Z Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Does anyone know a way to unlink ringtone and notification volume in 4.4.2?

There's an Xposed module that does this called "Ringer and Notification Volume Unlink".

4.2.2 updated by OTA : no widget on lockscreen

Hi there,
I have just updated by Xperia Z by OTA today.
I have check the lockscreen and configured Dashclock perfectly.
But for few minutes, the lockscreen doesn't allow me to see/add any widget anymore. They "disappeared".
I don't see the camera widget on right and add widget option to the left.
Has someone faced similar issue?
How do I fix this?
screenshot added.
Tks in advance,
BR
Maybe because you set a security code

Tks for your answer, but few minutes the phone managed the security code and the widgets on the same time.
Moreover, the update seems to restrict the lockscreen option.
I can only set the lockscreen with a Pin code or a password.
The others options are been set in grey.
Did you reboot the phone?
Maybe an application is conflicting?
Sent from my C6603 using xda premium
in what firmware? 244?
> Yes I did reboot. Twice :
1. first with security mode (volume down + power)
2. second with a regular reboot
No effect.
Possibly a conflict, but it would be raised at the beginning, not after 2/3 hours later.
However I will try on this way.

My NFC icon is Lost.. not Just "HIDDEN ICON" in the notification bar.. but IT REALLY DOESN'T WORK at all even when i Turn it on and off in the settings.. but it works fine when i flashed back to .681 even without wiping da dalvik cache .. I followed the Procedure One by one and I did exactly what is posted, but still no luck.. i reflashed everything.. even wiping all of my data just to check if it will work if I get a Clean phone before flashing stuffs.. now I am stuck in .681 Rom anyone can help me? and btw i have BL Unlocked (just in case you want/need to know) please help meee!

Use a fileexplorer(Rootexplorer) and go to system/build.prop and change it with the text editor.
Try that first for the icon.

You have not full access to change things on the root of your phone. It doesn't affect the NFC but if you want the icon back you must be fully rooted to change it in your build.prop.I think NFC is working on your phone without showing the NFC icon,do you have a NFC tag to test it?

Hey bro i googled some ways to edit the Build.prop thing that you were saying.. I downloaded an app that directly edits the text of that build.prop and it asked for a permission in SuperSU and i granted it.. Then i looked for the NFC icon that you said and changed it to True.. After restarting.. THE NFC SHOWS UP! thanks man! I am now running . 757 Nut's rom Cheers!

4.4.4 Stock 108 Runs ART?

I had read somewhere that 4.4.4 is defaulted to use ART runtime. Can someone install and check https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.magicalboy.artchecker
ps I installed xposed framework, so now i know it forced to Dalvik. Not sure was it ART earlier or not.
Nope.
Sent from my Xperia Z1!
ART will be the default in the L release, which isn't even finished yet.

Can't ART be enabled by changing the specific runtime line in the build.prop? Or am I dreaming right now?

No. It's an option in Developer settings, but HTC, Sony, Samsung and LG removed the code for it, or buried it very, very deeply
Sent from my LT26i using Tapatalk
Why can't someone prepare flashable zip for stock ROMs. I've been using ART on nexus since a while now. And even there's a way to enable it on HTC one.
Well, according to this post at BGR, it should be possible -- however, I cannot see the option to change runtime on my 4.4.4 Generic FR .108
Anyone had luck with this? Perhaps one of the other customizations?

I read somewhere that switching ART in xperia causes bootloop
I did a browse through the .108 firmware using root explorer. The ART library isn't in /system/lib. You can try switching all you like, Android just switches back to Dalvik (Yes, I tried it )

Code is not removed, it's just disabled, you can re-enable it but that is meaningless, phone will be bootloop when switch to ART.

Bootloader is not locked, uncheck it in dev options then flash TWRP with flashify. Make sure and use the updated TWRP for T-Mobile only
Thanks I did not know that can't wait until some kickass roms kernals and camera mods come for this device

It works across all music apps. You need to install the viper for lollipop apk and install the driver. Install SELinux mode changer and change to permissive. That should be all you need, but if it doesn't work go to developer options and check use awesome player instead of nuplayer...
It's an easy question to me SELunix no permissive in my cel so I can't install viper I used to have it and it's awesome... If you can't but Dolby it's Ah right

Audio enhancements dont work

I tried an rooted and non rooted X performance and both do NOT have working EQ, Clear Audio, Sound effects etc. I do get sound fine but any change I make within the Audio settings menu does nothing.

IDK.. I had a Xperia Z1s and that thing worked fine. AUdio could easily be changed in setting on any app.
.297?
I have same issue there. I thought that because I rooted.

On my phones it had not worked since 4.4.4 in all music apps. But there might be something wrong with this, I don't use it as I want the pure sound

But you said you try root and non-root also....
For now, no lock bootloader root available.
Your non-root phone unlocked bootloader also?
If yes, that mean DRM patch doesn't fully work on .297.
Because I confirm .238's clear audio is work.
On nougat it's functional
locked BL, no root (yet)
