hello
i just wanna ask something about my battery life on my x8...here's how it goes first i fully charge my battery up to 100% until it says on status battery full...then i unplugged it..after it i texted for a few minutes...and i check the status of my battery and it says: 28 mins 23s on battery..my battery is on 96%..is this normal.? or somethings draining my battery,?
i use minicm7 2.2
this is normal since battery is heating itself while charging, and when it cools down it shows less percentage of itself... to maximaze your current battery life, calibrate the battery:
1. charge it to 100% no more no less
2. leave the charger PLUGGED IN, and reboot to CWM
3. there you should find somewhere under options or advanced "wipe battery stats", and you press that
4. reboot your device and when it starts up it will show about 91%, charge it to 100% and you have your battery calibrated
NOTE: the charger is always plugged in
ok thanks i'll try it... one question should i drain the battery before calibrating it.?..as in zero percent??

Yes , that is recommended.
Also , one advice from me.
Even after calibration , whenever your phone says 100% charged , reboot it while the charger is plugged. You will get the exact battery charge after reboot.
Do it every time your recharge your phone.
Then stop rebooting when you get a 99% or 100% after a fresh reboot. Trust me , it helps.
ok thanks for the advice i'll try that too...
it is normal dude ....mine is giving 1day on heavy use
use zepplinrox's supercharge script...it really made a CONSIDERABLE change to m battery usage time
I have one question: "Why my battery is giving 6-8h. My battery 2 days ago giving 24 and more hour." Sorry for my English, but i am from Poland
what happened 2 days ago? did you install new ROM?
The OP might not have needed to install a new ROM, just an APP or maybe just a combination of APPs running. My phone sometimes canes the battery in a couple of hours from 50% to nothing for no apparent reason. On both stock and custom (actually better battery life on custom) it lasts about a day but sometimes about 6 hours! Not sure what is going on as this happened on both the stock 1.6, 2.1 and the custom 2.3.4!
Hi guys,
Since last week my Ace battery react very weird, it drains from 100 to 10 in just few hours. Currently im on Meizu ROM. (Previous ROMs: Democracy, MiUi, Nightly)
I have applied many tweaks to save battery life but all went in vain.
Guys please suggest me for this situation.
Thanks,
Swapnil
Change ROM and try..If its still not working, get a new battery
Controversies,controversies everywhere :what:
Already changed the ROM from democracy to Meizu, but problem still persist.
Is there any tweak to save my battery apart from the new battery option?
Thanks,
Swapnil
check if something prevents your device from entering deep sleep. (background processes)
then charge your battery, wait till its full (till you get notification in setting, that is isnt charging anymore)
=>
use the hell out of you battery, till completly depleted and phone shuts down.
=>
recharge battery, wait till you get notification that its full => keep charging for some hours. (best way to do this is to charge overnight.)
might work...or not. just try it.
Check whether the battery is swollen or not
If swollen replace it immidiately
This only could be the problem

Is this a new ROM that you just switched to? I had faced a similar issue when I switched to one of the ROMs. Thankfully it wasn't a batter issue. Let your battery reach 100%, go to CWM recovery, in advanced select wipe battery statistics, do not charge the battery till the battery goes to 0 and the phone dies. Check after that. You can check your battery health by dialling *#*#4636#*#* and going into battery information
Hi,
Thanks all of you for your reply, the problem is somewhat resolved.
I have wiped out battery status, installed the batterybinstat apk and its worked for me. Now my battery last for 1 day with wifi on.
Thanks,
Swapnil
Recently a friend gave me his i9000 to check why his device always shut off suddenly. It runs stock GB . The problem is, the battery is charged but without showing any warning or low battery message , the device just turns off . So i exchange battery from another i9000 and saw, the phone works fine !! And the battery i got from the faulty i9000 and put into another one, bingo....that phone too wont turn on. So the problem is , that although, the phone works just fine, and battery will actually charge, it always shows the battery is charged 100 % !!! Always !!! I have installed CWM, tried at least three different kernels, and roms. Same result.
Does anybody can tell me , why this bizarre reading and why the phone and also every other battery widget show the it is charged 100 % while actually the battery is less than 10 % charged !!!
The battery is 90% at fault.
You should buy a new one

sorry mate, i might have confused you with the question. The battery is good, i tested on other galaxy S and that other phone, read battery charge level accurately . But the problematic phone, always shows 100% charge for every battery !!! So after a day or two, the phone should show low battery , but instead it just turns off, even than it would show battery is full !!!

Jabrif AFAIK I don't think it does anything :/
To OP then mate the phone hardware may be at fault. I'm not sure though as i've never heard of this before
Good luck

I've been having the same issue.
i have this phone 1 year now and i had the same problem few days ago...im not a heavy user,so the phone usually lasted for 2 days of normal usage...but few days ago after i charged it, the phone lasted like 8-9 hours and Android OS was eating my battery 68%, keeping my phone awake all the time...
so i left the phone to completely dry up the battery until it shut down itself...then when i connected to the charger even more strange thing happened, the phone recognized that it is charging (as usual), but the screen was kinda blinking green lights all over the screen (there was no battery icon) and the phone started itself (i didnt even touch the power button)....after it started itself i shut it down and left it to charge up....after full charge i powered the phone and it is working normally for now....
so,i dont know if this gonna help you at all, but try leaving your phone to use all the battery until it shuts down itself and recharge it, after full charge power it up and see if it gets back to normal
cheers

Thank a lot ! I have the same issue. The first time i did it and reboot it my battery duration was... 1H... And when I redo it again it return to normal.. '-'
This very strange... But thanks
I have this exactly same problem. Please what should I do?? How do I know if I need battery replacement?
I'm aware that this problem has happened to others, and I have seen solutions for this problem, but every fix I've come across works temporarily...and by that I mean a day or two.
While using my Atrix HD, when the battery reaches between 20-35%, the battery will suddenly drop to 0% and shut down. This usually occurs when I am using an app, such as MixZing or the camera app. Any attempts to turn the phone back on cause it to shut off again as soon as the boot animation finishes. The only way to keep it on is to plug it into a charger, and when it does boot, the battery shows the same percentage it had when the phone conked out on me. I've even tried calibrating the battery using NèMa's Battery Calibration app, and the problem still occurs...mainly because I can't get the battery to drain completely so I can properly calibrate the battery.
Long story short, I need a fix, or at least a suggestion as to how I can keep this problem at bay. Does anyone have information regarding this problem?
did you ever wipe the battery data when you flashing a new rom ?
I think you need to re-reconigz the battery .

Agree. In cwm there is an option to wipe battery stats.
I had a similar problem with my HTC First where at 25 % it would go straight to 10 an then to 0 in like 30 seconds...although that was on stock rom...
Do you have the m40 battery mod from maxx?
Just curious

I don't use the eb40 mod, it's all stock hardware. Haven't tried wiping the battery stats, though; can't believe I overlooked that. I'll give it a shot and see if it does the trick.
EDIT: CWM doesn't seem to have an option for wiping battery stats for this phone; I've tried three versions and none of them give me that option.

I suggest you first write down the current battery volume , for example , now in the system ,you can see 60% battery left .
then you shut down the phone , connect your changer , the phone will change and the battery volume show . if this volume is not equal to the No. you see in the system , it means that your system have a wrong battery data record .

Shut down my phone, battery was at 91% (had charged it overnight). Plugged it in and the charging screen showed 90%. Is that what you were talking about, with the two battery volumes not being the same?
I think it's fixed!
I did a full system reset (including formatting the system, which I apparently had yet to do throughout all this time) to install a new ROM. Today the battery drained all the way down to 2% while I was browsing the web (something that normally would shut off the phone at around 30%) before shutting off. It seems that by skipping that crucial step, the system could not properly read/calibrate the battery when installing a new ROM, which may have caused this problem.
I think it's safe to say it's fixed. For now, at least, but I'm remaining optimistic. Thanks to everyone who pitched in with an idea or just said a few words; great to know people care around here.

I'm glad that you fixed it. I did the same but I still have that problem. When It's 20% it drops to 15% and then to 5% in 30 seconds.

Thankfully, I haven't had it drop that low that fast. Of course, this IS the Atrix HD, which carries such a weak battery compared to other phones in its class. Nevertheless, I feel great knowing that my phone doesn't shut off so unexpectedly. If it happens again, I'll do my best to deal with it, but for now...it's just success.
I had this problem after i force rebooted my phone, it got stuck at 1% when charging for almost 15mins. I had to turn the phone off.

for my understanding ,before you shut down the phont , you saw the batter volumes in system is 91% , and then you shut down the phont ,plug it in , and see the battery volume is 90% .I think in this situlation , the battery record in your system is correct ,cause 90% and 91% almost the same . I think your battery is dying , you should replace your battery

Well, a couple weeks later and I'm still not having the problem. The battery does still drain relatively fast (I go from 100% at about 9:00 A.M. to 35% at 3:00 P.M, with minimal usage such as checking Facebook/Twitter and stuff like that), but that's mostly due to the small battery capacity. The battery health is still good according to the scans and hardware checks I've done. I may, however, look into trying the EB40 mod if it means the battery will last much longer.

did you ever try to flash a new rom , you can try , if the problem still there , there is no doubt that the battery is bad .
