More friends the merrier for some. I don't get it. It seems that for some its a high school contest but some people on here are cool and I wouldn't mind.

I don't think you understood me, or maybe I'm interpreting your response incorrectly. Everyone I know has a Facebook/Twitter. I'm the only one who doesn't have accounts on either.

I had a myspace....I found it very boring.

Yeah I got ya now. Im starting to think the same. It gets to be an annoyance more than a pleasure. I get bored of that stuff rather quickly.

What video chat options exist besides live? Is Skype out yet? Google talk? Anything that others actually use?

Tango.... which is a cross platform application. You can talk with people who have it running on Iphone, Android, PC etc
Works really well... not practical unless you have a phone with a front facing camera though. You don't have any information in your signature regarding what phone you have so I cant tell you whether or not it will work well for you or not.

Skypes coming they announced that at CES.... I doubt an official google video chat app will come any time soon.... If at all.

Well my BlackBerry was my first smartphone and BBM was more used than actual text messages... I doubt it will be like that now because now everyone won't have it. But I am still way excited to see this and how it develops. I don't see how you can not be excited especially being an ex-BlackBerry user!

Awesome, now will it let me talk to people in 2008 when people still used BBM?

first thing I have heard about BBM in a long time... kind of surprised there is a high enough interest in the making of the Android version, possible I guess though.

BBM was cool back in the day, but I don't see a reason for it now, not as if you can't just text who ever you want, on any carrier, on any device.......

no different than BBM if you ask me, not needed imo

Most of my contacts switched to whatsapp as a replacement for BBM, I doubt enough will switch back to make it viable

Ok cool. So why do this need to be on android?

If this has all of the security built into it like when it's on an actual Blackberry then some corporate IT departments may let their employees use an android phone to receive corporate messaging. The company I work for is owned by a major defense contractor and has prohibited the use of android phones for corporate use. They must be Apple fan boys since they still allow the Iphone. I chose to not receive corporate mail on my phone and use a webmail client instead to bypass IT.

Tried searching online all last night and today and still can't find the leaked APK yet... anyone else?!

Leaked footage of BBM for Android updated in OP! Should be no time until it is live in the Play Store. I'm guessing like 2 or so weeks!

It does work! Patience is all you need! You need to input your email address, and wait for a confirmation to say that you can now use BBM.
This is a serious mission for BBM, they need to keep the load on their servers balanced at one time. If 6,000,000+ people all try logging in at once there will be consequences and it may even bring down the servers. (Quite like a DDoS attack)
So just be patient! :good:

Just like what happened with the leaked app, at least they have learnt this time hahahah! I got my code last night, just leave it for an hour or so, and click I got this email (even if you haven't) and it might send you to the login page, trust me it works, but they are having massive demand, on their crappy bb servers, that's why it's taking so long, I mean, it's blackberry, come on! xD

yes u can talk to ppl have BBM across platform blackberry,IOS,android and u can talk with ppl u know or chat with other u don't know just for fun ,
u can search for random ppl BBM pins add them and start chatting .

Also deleted it works but texting and Facebook is enough

Hourb ( free ) : domain: classified
I recommend everyone godaddy when they have some money hehehe
