[Q] Bootloader unlock allowed: no

Hi, I've started looking into rooting my T and started finding out if I could unlock my bootloader to start off with, when I saw that in my service info menu I can't unlock the bootloader... What can I do now? I would like to install custom kernels and ROMs but can't with this in place. I'm with o2, using the James bond edition. Any help please? Cheers!

If the service menu says no, then you cannot unlock your bootloader, which means no custom kernels and that you are limited to custom ROMs that are stock based

How do I customise the signature on xda premium app?
And there's no way around it? Is there no ftf that could enable it?

They need Server and they are offline for a while and they don't know if they'll have access in the future, I have read from the_laser that guys are asking too much money...
I read somewhere that it was related to bring sim locked. If I sim unlock could that help?

i dont think so.

I know this is not for xperia t, but some loose connections are made between sim unlock and boatloader unlock allowed. I'll test it when coursework isn't so piled up, or if anyone else could test it?

Have fun,
1. you have to pay
2. you need a removable battey
if you have a removable battery good luck (But you have the LT30p, so no removable battery), but be careful, because if you get the wrong test point you will HARD brick your phone. And without knwong which is the test point.its all a guess
It says that newer models have the same unlock code nowadays. At any rate I'm afraid I can't test right now

Stumbling block 1 with this method
How are you going to remove your battery to find the test point?
do you not think this would have already been tried...its already a method used on xda, I used it to unlock my neo (The free method). But on the T..how are you going to get the back off without specialist tools
What I'm going to do is first just SIM unlock and see the config menu to see if the unlock status has changed. I'm not going to interfere with the hardware. I might also ask my carrier why that's in place and if they can do anything about it. That's my plan so far... I don't know much about the programming of android but I presume that this is simply a value which is similar to Boolean; true or false, so would it not just be a matter of finding the relevant code and changing it? Like taking the (I'm assuming that this would be in system file maybe?) Files of a t with unlock allowed and comparing it to one with unlock denied? Or simply flashing a generic firmware which is unbranded? I only know a bit of visual basic, so sorry if this sounds stupid. I'm still a learner

If it was that simple, it would already be done. We have devs with EMMC access that can not do that yet, so a pleasent phone call to your carrier is not llikely to work.
Thanks for enquiring, and if you have any ideas please PM bin4ry or the_laser, they are the guys that are up to date with this,
regards
greg
I can confirm that having the SIM lock removed by your carrier will not change the bootloader unlock status. Done this with my Xperia T skyfall edition being locked to o2, SIM unlock Code given by o2 but bootloader is still locked and not available to unlock
Just another note updated firmware but lock is still there, just encase anybody was thinking after updating it may have changed.

In which case if anyone has any bright ideas feel free to share them. Thanks for testing though!

Are you joking.
Follow the link in my signature to the all in one thread.
Locked bootloaders = stock baased roms only
Unlocked bootloaders = any rom
I'm on the app so I can't see your Sig. I do apologise in that case. I'll check it out via my browser then.

Unlock bootloader for Xperia LT30at

Hello guys, i wanna know if there is a way to unlock bootloader to Xperia TL??
i call the *#*#SERVICE#*#*->service info->configuration: bootloader unlock allowed: NO
is there a way to unlock this? i want to install CM10.1 instead stock JB rom!
We all want this. It is currently impossible to unlock the bootloader on our LT30at's. Blame AT&T.

Maybe he has searched for... but he is not allowed to post in this forum...
There is a rule which is very senseless... you have to write 10 Posts... and if you write something what you are interested in, you get one of these answers:
wrong forum
try the forum search
this was many times discussed
yeah I've searched for, and I've found threads about this topic, but I'm not allowed to ask in this forum...
so... sorry for this Spam, but I'm forced to write something like this for the 10 posts
You do not need to unlock bootloader to root. Root tool: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2329208

I think you write faster than you read.
Sony Xperia SP (C3503; 12.A.1.257 FW) is not rootable without bootloaderunlock.
Maybe in the next release ...
we have now added support for:
Xperia SP (C5302/3, M35h) {FW: 12.0.A.1.257}
thanks to @sj8023ld!!
this will be available in next release of the toolkit!

Yes.
Roam around Xperia Z Android Development and you'll find roms for your device.
The Xperia Z Android Original Development part of the forum is devoted mostly for custom roms beyond stock based. Meaning, you'll need an unlocked device to take advantage of that forum. T-Mobile devices are unlockable, so...
T-Mobile devices are bootloader un-unlockable.
The bootloader on the T-Mobile US Z (C6606) CANNOT be unlocked, so that is to say that it is NOT bootloader unlockable.

How did u unlock the boot loader? I heard this thing is near impossible to unlock c6606 I'm running 4.2.2 with working lte
...
They haven't unlocked the bootloader. I think several people here are writing 'unlockable' when they actually mean that it cannot be unlocked.
That is why I posted above to clarify the actual situation with the bootloader on the C6606.

I known but TL cannot unlock bootloader
Sent from my LT30p using Tapatalk 2
Why can't? It's jus another mobile device from Sony.
Because TL is a local device
Sent from my LT30p using Tapatalk 2
Almost 99% of TL bootloaders are not unlockable, but there are a few that can be unlocked for some reason . The configuration shows a 'yes' instead of a 'no'. Yet the people get through the unlocking procedure but are stuck because they can't get fastboot to work. It's almost like every TL has its fastboot disabled. Most TLs are AT&T.
Thanks for share

I wish I could unlock my bootloader on my old X10a on at&t, there has to be some way to do it. I just can't afford to brick my phone. Keeping lte seems to be the issue because how the bootloader is tied to the driver for the data radio somehow.

You can bootloader unlock it you just have to sim unlock it first, just use the page that they made to sim unlock phones and they should send you the code after that it's a matter of looking up the instructions ^^
