One of the first things I always want to do with a new phone is turn off the stupid boot sound. Is there a hidden setting somewhere to do this on the AT&T GS5? With root it would be easy enough to change the audio file. Not looking for an app that kludges around the issue by muting when you reboot.
I only know about having the phone in silent or vibrate to have the boot silent.

My wifes Note is always answering the calls in speakermode, its annoying because she has to disable it everytime she answer a call.
Its a rooted Note on Rooted_Stock_Odex_N7000XXLC1.
Alrewdy tried a different Contacts.apk and tried removing the battery during answering/calling,
Is there a way to disable it?
not sure but check if driving mode is on.

Thnx found it but everything was already turned off.
Tried to set everything on and then off again and it worked for a moment
When i picked up a call it was off but 2 seconds later it turned itself on and now its always on again.
if you on a safe kernel try doing a factory reset. apps and data will be lost

Like the title says, I'm wondering why the phone quickly vibrates twice like 5 seconds after a screen lock. Anybody else notice this?
EDIT: actually I noticed its only when the screen is touched after its locked? Pretty annoying.

Weird mine doesn't do that at all. You got an app or anything running in the background perhaps causing that?

Under Controls -> Motions there is a setting for "Smart Alert". That's probably what you are feeling. It vibrates when you pick up the phone and you have a notification and the screen is off to let you know there is something you missed.

I was kinda close about an app causing it lol
I have the same problem, you dont have to touch it. Smart alert is turned off. When I lock the screen itll vibrate twice a few seconds later. I cannot figure out what it is and it just started after the android 9 update

I have the same issue on my Note 10+ and cannot find a solution. Smart Alert is already turned off so it is something else. It happens if the volume is set to sound or vibrate and the only way to stop it is to set the phone to silent. Hopefully someone here can share an actual solution.
Is there anyway without root...that u can stop the n3 from making the sound it does when u swipe to unlock phone, or is there a way to change the sound it makes. Again WITHOUT root...
Thankyou so much for ur help as I know u guys r quite busy
Settings - Device -sound - screen lock sound

I should have been more specific, my apologies.... I want the click sound when i lock the screen.... Its just the speciffic one when u swipe to unlock... That sound only..
If i go into settings>lock screen... It will silence all sounds for lock screen.... I know it sounds petty... Its just annoying

Hi there! Does anyone know how to disable the camera sound while taking a picture. Tried to mute ask volume but it doesn't work.
Thanks.

Try search...
Easiest option is to just cover speaker. Other try null rom (I made modded cam, but only works for old firmware)
After the latest update everything is working perfect, but a lost snapchat and the camera sound.
All notification sounds and touch feedback sound are still there.
So I guess there is a way to switch the sound on and off.

Yes, it was figured out how to mute the sounds by a few very bright folks here. There is a tool on here you should try called "search". I know of two threads at least where it's covered in great detail.
Anyone else? And is there a fix for this with for our bootloader locked phone?
Yes, Ive tried factory resetting 3 times now and it still goes back to damn t-jingle!!!!!
i use ringdroid along with extended ringtones you can take any mp3 cut it and use it for notifications or ringrones

Now, I'm not using any of the stock ringtones. I'm using MP3's that I've been using now for years and they are stored on the sdcard.
I have the same issue.
I have had to change my ring tone everyday and no mater what it seems like the next call i get its set back to the damn t-jingle
I have this problem too....I wonder if this is linked to the theme engine? Some themes have custom ringtones/alerts etc...does this happen only after rebooting?

Resetting back to stock ringtone happens to me as well, every time after rebooting the phone. It's a good observation that this could be due to the Theme, I have Blue Coral color, so I use Blue Coral theme from EiD.
I wonder if this is related to the fact that I can't set specific tones for SMS per person. It uses the default that I set but ignores the address book entries. Is this because they are ogg files?
I can confirm this happening to my first note 7, possibly with the update it was fixed because that no longer happens.
I found that a regular factory reset through system settings didn't do the trick to solve this problem. I did like 3 resets. What did work was doing a clear data through the recovery. Did that once and not a problem since. Try it, it may work for you.
Damn I'm starting to have this issue. Any solutions?
