I bought the N7 a few weeks ago an love it. The only thing I found I didn't like was not
having home screen rotate to landscape mode. Luckily there is a free app in Google Play

Ratings are saying that it causes lag. If rooted might as well edit local.prop

Just use the beta apex launcher it is perfect.

Nova launcher also does the job, its so smooth on jellybean

I get so much lag doing the local.prop fix. Sometimes it works immediately when I rotate, but more times than not it will hang for 30-40 seconds before you see anything or can do anything. Ever since I turned off Currents everything else has been perfect except screen rotation. Any ideas?

If you're rooted you might as well flash Paranoid Android.

Edit the build.prop file for true tablet ui with no lag. The dpi I use is 175 which is perfect. You do have to revert back to 213 to make purchases threw play. So I buy apps in bundles so I spend as little time with that hideous stock phone ui.

Why not just use a multi dpi play store like i do? I use slimBean, one is included with that. I can see all apps at any dpi

Or use EOS rom which has native DPI tablet mode and no worries at all.

I caved in and bought the ultimate rotation license for $4 :what: It seemed a bit much but it works like a charm with no lag and it rotates in a split second unlike the other methods I tried. Another thing I factored in was, I was able to also use the license for my samsung galaxy s3 cause touch wiz also doesn't rotate so I figure 4 bucks for 2 of my devices isnt that bad.

Use ultimate rotate control with your 25 bucks its worth it

I love ultimate screen control , but is it normal for the notification shade to be towards the left when in landscape mode (when pulled down)? I wish it were in the middle...

Hi guys!
I tried 3 apps that can use your phone's gallery, browser, lockscreen and call accept like in s4 but none of these work.
Is there a problem my proximity sensor?
Or its another weak point at 4x?
What you get with these apps (air call accept and air swiper)? Are they work for you?
Sent from my LG-P880 using xda premium
I Wonder the same thing today trying airu swipe
Sent from my LG-P880 using xda app-developers app
I tried both apps and both of them are not working for me unfortunately. Proximity sensor is working because when i answer a call and put the phone next to my ear the screen go black. So that means that proximity is only activated when you are talking wizh someone.

And are there any way to turn on proximity sensor?
Sent from my LG-P880 using xda premium
There isn't a problem with turning on, it's the lack of the sensor, it only supports two distance modes - sensor is covered ,sensor is free so you have to put your hand nearly touching the screen, so wave Is a big problem, it's not being detected most of the times, only by really slowly moving the finger across, I tried other apps with the prox control, and that's the result.

I have auto brightness off, auto adjust screen tone off and brightness set to max. My screen randomly dims and then gets bright again...anyone know what's causing this?
sEnt from thE noTe 3
Hmm is it this adapt display option maybe?
sEnt from thE noTe 3
Same here then I went into my settings to check the brightness (settings, display, brightness) and it said brightness decreased to prevent over heating or something like that ..check it next time you notice it dimming and see if it's the same thing ..pretty annoying
Sent from my SM-N900T using xda app-developers app
power saver uses the dimming option for low consumption of battery and make sure auto adjust is off in display settings
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N900A using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
I'm willing to bet adapt display
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N900A using Tapatalk 4
Power saving isn't on. Adapt display didn't fix it either

I have everything turned off also ..I checked in my settings every time my screen dimmed and every time the same message ..it was driving me nuts for days (still is)
Sent from my SM-N900T using xda app-developers app
I've had this happened to me also.
It seems to be more frequent when I'm using Chrome ( not stock browser ). It suddenly gets dim and then may or may not eventually brighten up again, it's pretty random
Also happens when I'm on the launcher but not as frequent
- Automatic Brightness / Off
- Screen Mode / Professional Photo
- Power saving mode / Off
- Auto adjust screen tone / Off
Is there something else I may be missing?
It happens to me while using the xda app. Annoying as hell. It has the same message as Melissa

Does anyone know if this processor does thermal throttling? That could possibly trigger a power save dim with overheating. If we get root this can be disabled using trickster mod.

The Otimus G Pro had a setting in the hidden menu to disable thermal throttling.

Thought this was an issue with my phone when I got it from AT&T yesterday. Glad to know it isn't just me. It seems to only have the issue when I am in a low-lite area (at least on mine) but when I am in an area with good lighting and the back light is 75% or more it doesn't dim nearly as much. Would be interested to see what a fix would be for this.

The service mode is brought up by typing *#0011# in the dialer on this phone but aside from that i havent had a chance to mess around in there. I do know that key imput 1 doesnt bring up the main menu anymore.

So I've been having this issue and noticed it like two days ago, and reading all your responses I looked through and noticed I had one of the features that I thought I turned off. Smart Stay says that it starts to turn the screen off when we look away maybe it's a buggy feature (one I never intended to use but it might be the one doing this dimming thing (being one of the first steps to turn off the screen)
Anyone else have a warmer screen? My tf700 has a more blue or cooler screen. Kinda reminds me of the nexus 10 screen.
Update: Found online that the included app "splendid" allows you to adjust screen temperature.

I wish I could adjust RGB individually like Windows.
I found going one degree cooler in the splendid app made mine better. How about you guys?

Based on another users recommendation, I went -6 (cooler) on the splendid app and it made the screen even brighter.

Compared to my TF700 the screen looked too yellow for me also. It was easy to correct with the Splendid app, now it looks nearly identical to the 700 but with better color saturation. Win, Win.
The one annoying problem with the display is the auto brightness, it changes constantly, like every few seconds. Anyone else have this problem?
What is your settings for brightness and the splendid app? I don't have a problem with the auto brightness. It's pretty much doing its job to save battery life. When on any websites with a lot of text, it tends to brighten up. I actually like the feature because it puts much more emphasis on enjoying your reading experience , which is a plus for me.

Strange one here, when I connect my phone with the wireless charger daydream clock activates. When I remove the phone from the charger the screen dims to its lowest setting I have to pull down to adjust the brightness. This isn't because of daydream. I have tried disabling it, I get the same results?
Can someone shed some light on this, it's really annoying.
