if you do a ''wipe data factory reset'' in recovery before flashing then YES, otherwise NO
same for 4.4.2 and 4.4.3

yes its the same with every rom you install. wipe data factory reset means that you will erase all apps and user data bringing your device back to factory settings
thanks

If you do want to go from a lower version to 4.4.x then you HAVE to wipe otherwise you will not be able to boot.

Hi All,
I'm currently on CyanogenMod 10 by ivendor - Beta 4 and I want to flash to CyanogenMod 10.1 Beta by Xistance.
Am I correct that I can flash CM10.1 without a data wipe, so only by wiping cache and dalvic cache?
I spent quite a lot of time by installing apps and setting preferences the way I want them to be so it would be great if all that could be conserved.
It works perfectly when going from one CM10 version to another, so I presume that this will also be the case when going from CM10 to CM10.1?
Thanks

Ok, I gave it a test myself after a backup and everything seems to work fine.
All apps, settings etc. are conseved and everything works well
Good to know, will soon move also from cm10 to cm10.1. But why did the developer always recommend to wipe also data, comming from a different ROM?

Dunno but i always make full wipe, but care ! New CWM recovery bricked my data (i wanna try it and CM 10.1) and now try to fix these :/
I´d like to update from CM 10 to CM 10.1. How should I proceed?.
DO I have to wipe data and cache? I don´t want to loose my apps and data.
Thanks in advance!

any solutions
Flash the Mackay 10.1 rom (look in the dev section), it has fixed that bug, along with a lot of other improvements over the nightlies.

Flasing a diferent rom without wiping can, more often than not, lead to additional problems not present in a clean install. Sometimes it works, others not.
It is good practice to ALWAYS wipe when flashing a diferent rom, only flash without wiping on incremental updates to the same rom.
Just flashed omni rom 4.4 and gapps for my n7000 but apps are not appearing

Did you make a clean flash. Kitkat is very sensitive to that.?
Flash the ROM and latest gapps in recovery mode(don't reboot in between) then do the three wipes and reboot.
omni rom 4.4 for n7000
I flashed the omni rom 4.4 on my n7000 and it flashed perfectly...when my phone was up I had a few problems:
1. gallery isn't opening
2. camera isn't opening
3. my internal memory is not being detected at all
need some help cause this rom attracted me. its smooth and fast. if all the above mentioned things would work I'd stick to this rom

Hey there!
Did you do a clean install? Try doing a full wipe and reflashing(after taking backups, of course!)
Just for clarification, which gallery and camera are you talking about? The stock ones or Google ones?
And you sure you meant INTERNAL memory? Cuz most people seem to have that problem with external SD. In either case, take a full backup, go to your recovery and format the problematic partition into ext4(this will delete EVERYTHING on the SD card!)

GPU frequency scaling isn't even working in latest beanstalk nexus blobs version.Same goes for other unofficial based, lately released ROMs.So I'd recommend you to stay on the official until a new version with fixes is released.

It's a problem within the ROM itself.Make a fresh installation of CM11 official and your problems will be solved. (wipe system, data and cache, then flash CM11 zip)

Dirty update from 4.4.2 only

Thanks
