Can i install the ok google now and the camera gesture(i want that apps to use the x8 chip because it will be unusefull if the rom dont use it)
Active display uses de x8 chip????
Liquidsmooth is a good ROM, i have used it in my previous devices.
If your phone was updated to 4.4.2 from your carrier, then you wont be able to flash a custom ROM.

I believe it has init.d support.
Battery life is much worse for me, I'm getting a tons of wake locks so I'm trying to narrow down the issue. Not sure if rom related but I flashed it two days ago and haven't installed much and use things like greenify. Might have to ref lash
If you are rooted with twrp I believe you can install it. I was on unlocked BL with 4.4.2 root and installed it.
I do not believe you can install the okay google now and camera gestures using the x8 chip. I don't think it's accessible to third party developers.
Active display does not use the x8 chip from LS
ok

Hi,
I have a problem with all xperia stock roms with the mediaserver process. It is always running while I listen to music (which is a lot of time) and drains a lot of battery (up to 65%). Though I use poweramp player which is totally independent of the process (own library and decoder). There must be some process to improve soundquality or something like it. On my Desire S on CM11 I don't have the issue this is why I want to move to a custom rom. I'm on 4.3 now (was hoping this would fix the issue) and want to root and full backup with keys for warranty purposes and then move to a custom rom.
Is it right that I have to downgrade first, since there is no root for 4.3 yet? If yes, what ROM? I have a C5303 and don't know what version I had previously. I bought it in Switzerland without SIMlock or any branding. Is there a way I can find out what my previous version was or can I basically just use any generic C5303 version?
Would you recommend 12.0.A.1.284 in order to be able to use DoomLords rootkit: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...3#post42701183 ?
It's just that I don't know if I ever was on this version, also regarding warranty...
I know, many questions and I opened a new thread jst for this. I tried to find help in other threads, but didn't. I just reached a point where I don't seem to get further without asking. I tried to be as specific as possible and hope someone can clarify some of them.
Thanks in advance!
Answers to all the questions:
- Mediaserver will always run when media is being played (music/movie) this also happend on my Galaxy S+ with CyanogenMod
- Rooting can be done by downgrading back to 4.1.2 stock 254 is good... (see my how to about flashing), root is with doomlords method
- Version of 4.1.2 doenst matter you can use a Generic one if you want. Some versions have some extra bloatware

If you deactivate some apps/processes like SondFX (and possibly SoundFX) and use a player I think you can listen to music it without mediaserver.
(some more on that: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2116076)
With my desire s it actually already isn't active without deactivating anything. just by using poweramp. I can listen to music 8 hours without using more than 20% battery or so. What I get with my SP is just frustrating since I bought it for the nice battery size-processor relation...
Thank you very much for your reply!
So you could disable soundFX (Dutch Geluidsverbeteringen) and try again?? I've disabled it and altho the music is not as nice as i had it with soundfx it still plays.. I'll perform some extra tests.. This is interesting
flashing .284 wouldn't be a good option?! because then I could use DoomLords flashtool directly without having to do the workaround....
Doesnt matter if you flash 254 and follow the tutorial

The latest (12.1.A.1.201) is a little better on ram but still not that good
There is no real way to root except by downgrading to 4.1 then upgrading via CWM
Wiping apps from rom is never a good Idea, tho if u have root u can play around with low memory killers and OOM'S but i suggest u stay away from em if ur a newbie
If you are looking for performance i suggest go back to 4.1
But if u are okay with a little lag, and optimizing the phone, then root and stay on 4.3 (also if u want the UI of 4.3). There are some guides to speed up ur phone on 4.3 i believe
For me i am unrooted on 4.3, but i have disabled heavy ram eating apps like google play services, google play store, maps and etc, still it is no way near what i can get from root
I have told u i believe all ways, it is your choice for what u want now

i suggest u too look away from Sony stock.. if u are unlocked try custom rom ... got around like 500mb free ram.. after install apss got like 400+ free... even if yr phone are locked u also try slimROMForLocked but to get those CWM running in locked phone if would be tedious

s5 rom to s3
Hy. Y flashed the rom on my i9305 and y had to reflash and then only I made the camera work flashing boefla.ok. but. Screen mirroring doesn't work apps to sd card the same and neither samsung link wont work. Are you trying to fix these? The rom is good. I have no complaints other that sometimes its eating the battery in5 hours. Thank's
S5 Elite for S3 (i9305) problem.
Greetings,
Today I was charging my S3 (i9305) and turned off the power. I later discovered that my phone was still on even though I had turned it off. I found out that when charging my phone with the power off it rebooted my phone. I don't know if it's a problem with the Rom or phone. Help would be appreciated. (I have attached a picture of what my phone gets stuck on before it reboots). Thanks.

Hi,
Im not sure but maybe this is the old bootloader issue..are you on new or old bootloader? and have you installed agni kernel that comes by default with the rom? cause i thought that the reboot issue only was present in the boeffla kernels for this rom, which i have removed from the rom thread some time ago, because they were not stable.
It is definately not a rom problem, cause im using this rom every day (btw im on new 4.4.4 bootloader) and i didnt had any reboots from the 1st day till this time also not with the 4.3 bootloader, using Agni kernel 4.9 everything works fine, even offline charging works, but from this we already knew that offline charging was working well on new bootloader.

It must be the Bootloader then, since I have already installed Agni v4.9. Would you be able to send me the link to the right Bootloader for the i9305. Thanks Maho.

Well the case is that the bootloader is not something you can find separately and flash it for example like a flashable zip, the only way to update the bootloader is by flashing 4.3 or 4.4.4 official firmware from sammobile.com or any other site where you can download samsung official firmwares, and it has the KNOX feature included which really sucks, therefore these bootloaders are also called KNOX bootloader. You can check what bootloader you have at the moment by booting into downloadmode and in left upper corner of the downloadmode screen if there is a line saying ´´KNOX WARRANTY VOID´´ means you already have the new knox bootloader and since the new Android 4.4.4 now there is also a line in blue color saying ´´SECURE DOWNLOAD : ENABLED'' which is the case with me.
If you like to update the bootloader you can do that, in my signature there is a link to ODIN guide, also there is a link in the guide for if you want to learn more about knox bootloader before you do anything, cause when you flash 4.3 or 4.4.4 official firmware the knox bootloader will remain forever with the device, its not something you can delete like an .apk file, the bootloader is part of the device structure.
This knox bootloader seems to cause problems with installing custom roms or applying root etc. (not for everyone though) but im now KNOXED for some time and never had actually any kind of problem installing custom roms or rooting etc. besides that i think that our i9305 is now getting old and 4.4.4 is probably the last official update to come from Samsung, so it doesnt really matter to be knoxed or not knoxed at this time IMHO and most of the people dont care anymore about warranty being void, but if you like to avoid such small issues like device rebooting by itself or any other issue caused by the old bootloader with 4.4.2 or 4.4.4 custom roms, i recommend everyone to update the bootloader if you plan to run 4.4.2 or 4.4.4 custom roms as daily driver.
If you are still not sure about this or you dont understand something, you can always look for more info in the general Q&A thread or just do some research on the internet.
Cheers
Thank you

Hey man sorry for late reply.
I think wifi direct isnt working then, for the audio skipping i think its related to your kernel settings, try other governors for example. I dont have this issue, music playing fine with me.

You have many installed apps? And it has little memory or memory ram? If this is the problem, will have to root q, and if you have a class 10 card, move apps to the card, if it is a basic, just move the light apps that do not require a large perfomace I in here my xperia sp android 4.3, I have no problems of slowness.
I have helped and I deculpe by bad english
Cr*p Software
As you mentioned it is slow for it's specs, the hardware is still strong by today's standards and can easily run Jelly Bean, the problem is the software and what Sony have done with it. I also have slow performance on JB 4.3, I have removed much bloatware and installed greenify but still have poor performance (can barely multitask, opening 2 tabs in chrome will close Walkman whilst playing music ). The reason is mainly the kernel, the min-free (RAM) values are poorly tweaked hence we have low RAM and performance. Compared to 4.1.2 JB, 4.3 JB is a lot more resource heavier due to the added high end graphics support.
Hi there,
As you've mentioned above, I think there may be some software installed that are slowing down your phone. If you use the stock rom, you can try backing-up your SMS, contacts and apps(always remember to backup), then factory reset the phone('wipe') in settings-backup and restore.
Also you can unlock and root the phone for a better performance, but be cautious, for unlocking void warranties.
I don't have apps installed...but ok,Sony's stock ROM is ****...why CyanogenMod ROMs have many problems too??
You can try flash a ftf file with flashtool. It totally rewrite the system on your phone.
Unlock bl and try cm11.
1. Flash stock .207 with flash tool
2. Root it
3. install custom recovery cwm and then try some custom roms for locked bootloaders from android developement section
http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-sp/development
4.3 custom roms highly recommended for battery life

Yeah Sony's stock ROM for our phone is bad. CM11 (locked bootloader) is a million times better, no crazy battery drain, 400mb+ free RAM (will all my apps), very smooth. Its easy to install as well (no need to unlock your bootloader). Check this out.
Follow matsas's instructions as above but instead install CM11.
Hi E1 owners!
I bought an E1 for my mother about a year ago. I updated it with the latest 4.4 OTA and installed a few apps and disabled a few others (basically she uses it for Whatsapp, email and to take/share pictures). The phone seemed to work smoothly the days I used it (apart from a ramdom reboot).
Now my mom complains that everything is very slow and things don't work (god knows what stuff she might have installed ) so she will send it by post (I live very far) and I will clean it.
My question is if it is worth to install a ROM like CyanogenMod or the most stable is the stock KK? I was thinking to root it and remoave all the useless apps to make some space bacause it ran out of space rather fast even moving as much as possible to the sdcard.
Thanks for the help!

Stock ROM is a nightmare
You can install a modded Stock ROM from XDA, like Cheetah, Illuminated, and KillaMade
As far as I can remember those are bloatwareless
Also, If the BL can be unlocked install Caio's kernel, It can increase performance
