Internal storage Bug - LG Optimus 4X HD

Help i ve been having this problem for quite some time now .
Internal Storage: Total space 12.26gb
Apps 113mb
pictures,videos 26.98mb
Audio 20kb
Downloads 1.17mb
Misc 16kb
AVAILABLE 2.47GB <---
Can anyone explain how to fix this ?
I did a Factory data reset , but still have the same issue.

Backup your data and format system. This could happened if you moved from 4.1 ROM to 4.x since different folders are used for storage. Also all this is already explained on forum many times.

[Q for DEV] Partition internal sd + ExtSd2InternalSd = real increase of memory!

Hello to all DEV,
i have made but not relased yet my mod ExtSd2InternalSd (all info at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1772234) which simply switch internal sd wth external sd to use external sd to store all resource of apps instead stored in internal sd.
I have ported this mod fro GNote and all is ok but...it's real necessary??? I mean...since gnote has "only" 2gb internal memory (gs3 have ALL internal sd card sd internal memory), 11gb of sd for resource is ok in proportion (2gb with 11gb is a good choice).
So in this scenario my mod is not really necessary but...if we can repartition internal sd to use all 16gb of Gnote for /data (as in gs3) my mod became really interesting to increase memory of Gnote!!
So, since i'm not able to do this yet, my question to dev is: IT'S POSSIBILE TO PARTITION INTERNAL SD TO USE ALL INTERNAL SD FOR DATA AND NOT HAVE 2GB+11GB BUT ONLY ONE PARTITON OF 16GB FOR DATA??
Thanks a lot
Anyone can help me?

maybe this can help
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1667886&highlight=increase+data+partition
i havn't tried it but it should do the trick with a little tweaking
i don't know how to edit pit files but i think ther's two ways to treat the problem
1. remove ums(internal sd) partition and swap externalsd with data partition
2. shrink ums(internal sd) to a minimum and swap externalsd with internal
(for me this is a best option since most games store their data on internalsd and the movetosd feature of ics also moves apps to internalsd)
hope i was usefull
i found the source code of galaxy s pit files
those can be easily modified and then recompiled for the galaxy note

I am the starter of the first link in your post (PITs for skipping emmc bricks).
thanks for the link to these pit generator sources.
From this I can see something I already wondered about.
S1 PITs have another format than the Note, so those sources cannot be used for the Note. But it could be modified.
The S1 PITs don't have offsets, which I think also means you cannot punch holes in the partition table (e.g. for skipping emmc bricked blocks).
Btw. I use a perl script to read and write PIT files.

[Solved] Galaxy S advance Internal USB Storage Shrinkage Problem

Hi Friends, I like to share some good information about Glaxy S advance I9070 16gb.
I upgrade my SGSA to russian JB firmware few days back. After that when i format usb storage it shrinkage from storage 11.31 gb to 3.92 gb. I was astonished, how it was happen and what was the reason for it? Then I think may be bugs of Jellybean update. But I was wrong.
Solution
Main reason for USB Storage shrinkage is PIT file. Few days back I flash my mobile with wrong PIT file of 8gb I9070 unknowingly. After that when upgrade jellybean and format it shrinkage from storage 11.31 gb to 3.92 gb. It is very necessary to flash mobile with correct PIT file for version of mobile. Here I attached I9070 16gb Ginger Bread PIT file which works on Jellybean for me and brings my 11.31gb USB strorage back for me. If any one having same problem they can apply this. But I am not responsible for any mobile breakage.
Note: Must necessary Format USB storage after Flashing with Correct Pit file.
Now I am very Happy. Thanks.

The other users can also do the same without doing a re-flashing . its one Step method though.
Just Run the bat inside zip file Attached herewith using ADB and it will format the whole mmcblk0p8 ( 11.3 GB ) storage.
NOTE : But do take the backup before doing so to be on the safer side as whole internal memory will get formatted and data within will be lost.

Just Check these two things
1) you have Samsung drivers installed for your phone ( Samsung kies).
2) your phone should be in dubugging mode to use ADB (system settings-->Development option --> usb debugging).
3) Download the attachment -- extract it.
4) Now connect your mobile to PC using USB.( close Kies ).
5) Run Batch file inside the folder and it will do the rest , reboot the phone after that and you hv 11.3 gb back.
Hey guys! I've got the same problem: I flashed to JB and now, my internal SD has got 3.91GB of free storage. The problem is, I can't remember if my phone was the 8 or 16GB version and I don't wanna flash the wrong PIT file =/ What can I do now to find it out? I don't have the packaging anymore.

If you remember that you had 11GB free internal, it was 16GB version.
That's the point...I don't know it anymore =/ I know, it sounds kinda strange - but the last time I copied smth onto my phone seems like eternities ago and I just don't know whether I had the 8 or 16GB version xD
Is there any possibility to get that information - for example via my IMEI or the serial number of my phone?
And what'd happen if I flashed the wrong PIT? Would my phone just get into a bootloop and I could easily flash the right PIT or could it mess everything up?

This needs Root-Permissions, doesn't it? Because it doesn't work on my unrooted phone...
EDIT: Odin won't flash my PIT files =/ I tried several 8GB and 16GB PIT files with and without FW flash and nothing works...Odin always says "Get PIT for mapping" but it won't repartition my storage...What can I do now?
2nd EDIT: I tried vivekchamoli's bat several times now - and I think it bricked my phone finally. I clicked restart and it won't boot, it won't vibrate when I hold the power key, it won't charge when I plug it in and I can't get into download mode. So, my phone literally can't do anything anymore! What can I do now...? ='(
Why do you guys even bother to use pit files?
Odin automatically detects the partition mapping!

8 or 11GB?
If you had 11, then you can do something. On 8GB phones you have 3.91GB free space for data. Rest is for app, systemy ram...
And try not to play around, that guy bricked his phone. Be sure what amount of memory you had before you do anything. You have box, warranty papers - maybe there is written...

---------- Post added at 10:43 AM ---------- Previous post was at 10:35 AM ----------
U just need to format ur internal SD i.e. phone memory in the settings>storate and there format the internal SD which is 3.9 GB and then ur problem is solved
i'm already flashed this pit file by odin and finally i get 0 space on sd card and 0 space on usb memory and system storage is 1.97 GB

[Q] Link2SD + internal memory problems

Recently, i flashed my galaxy mini with cyanogenmod 10.1. Just after installation itself, the internal memory was almost 110MB used out of 178MB.
So i installed link2sd to solve my internal memory problem. But, at the time of mounting the second partition, it showed an error that i was out of storage space and that the mount script cannot be created. I made the second partition from CWM. I also tried partitioning it myself in ext2, ext4 and fat32 formats but still, the same error appeared. I dont remember if i tried with ext3.
After searching a bit about my problem and getting no help, i decided to try s2e. I downloaded and installed it from CWM. The problem is, i forgot to uninstall link2sd. After reboot, i couldn't find any apps named s2e. But, link2sd automatically started and now, it showed a mount warning which said:
"2nd partition is not mounted during boot time. it has been mounted after system finishes booting. Therefore, linked apps are not visible to system at the moment. To make them visible again, please try 'recreate mount scrips' or 'quick reboot' "
when i clicked on 'recreate mount scripts', the old error came up. So after rebooting again, i used the 'quick reboot' option and then link2sd seemed working. The problem is that, now, whenever i switch off and switch on the phone, i need to use the option 'quick reboot' from link2sd to make it work.
Any help to get rid of that problem?
And, another doubt: why was my internal memory almost 110MB used just after installing cyanogenmod? Is there any way i can free up more space?

i suffered with this issue too
currently using "fixed int2ext+ for android 4.2.1+" by CronicCorey.. the best in my opinion.. i guess there are many threads already for internal memory issues.
i really suggest int2ext+..

Thanks for replying. Int2ext leaves the \data\data inside internal memory itself right? As i've said, i have only about 68mb in internal memory because the rest had been occupied since i installed cyanogenmod. Is there any way i can clean up those files from internal memory? And also, my \system partition is almost full with just 4kb remaining. I just saw this in link2sd. Is this normal??
Or, another case, i would love to get link2sd fixed because i already did stuff up my phone with a lot of apps and also, i think its a really good app manager.

/system does not appear in the internal memory that u r referring to. \system is allocated a different memory i.e., about 207mb. Your ROM goes in there.
all the user apps data and cache is saved in /data. This is your Internal memory.
there are different versions of int2ext script. Go through the link i gave. There's one more:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1879806
Read the details there.
briefly speaking, int2ext moves all the /data stuff onto the ext4 partition that u create on you sd card.
int2ext+ leaves /data/data in the internal memory.
I am using fixed-int2ext+ and I have more than about 105 apps installed on my phone and the /data/data/ size is about 145 mb.. leaving about 35mb free on internal memory. My phone is super smooth.
In u prefer int2ext, then you can practically store any number of apps (limited only by your ext4 partition size. But the phone gets laggy and slow. I have tried both and i prefer int2ext+.
Also, if you are using the latest CM10.1 nightly by rohan007, you'll still have about 19mb or so free on /system.

i did a data and cache reset today and still, the internal data memory is almost 110MB used. That means i have only about 70MB left even after data reset. And yes, i am using CM10.1 (02-04-2013 update) nightly by rohan007 and still, the system partition has only 4KB left.
I did go through the different int2ext scripts. Possibly, i think int2ext+ would be better.
Anyways, today, after doing a complete reset, the home key stopped working. Also i found a few other bugs in the notification drawer. So i just deleted that rom and i'm trying baltrom now. It seems pretty smooth than the other cm 10.1. Also, it had the int2ext+ so the memory problem solved for now. And one more thing, I'M DONE WITH LINK2SD!
Lol.. I never faced that issue.. Been using cm10.1 for more than a month now.. And I flashed this ROM many times.. No such issues at all.. I wonder what went wrong.. Anyways.. Enjoy with int2ext+..

I think i found out why home button stopped working. If we have installed gapps, doing a data reset can produce problems(like, home button not working) and we'll have to flash the rom again to fix it. Thats what happened, I THINK. I read something similar in the forum. Thats how i came to this conclusion.

[Q] Freeing my 12GB storage

Hi! I recently started flashing ROMs on my LG 4X HD. One thing that I noticed is when I did the factory reset most of my old files remained on the phone, resulting low storage space on my new ROM. Even after factory reset I still have 1GB free space How can I do I clean up of everything on my phone freeing all my 12GB of storage space?
orkfao cree
format /sdcard on CWM... got it!
Well, factory-reset doesn't touch the SDCard usually
Factory reset only deletes personal data and apps, it doesn't touch things like videos or music...

[Q] After flashing stock JB rom on i9070p I have zero total space for device

After flashing correct stock JB rom for my device and restarting I receive message com.googleapps stopped and then when I'm trying to continue with settings wizard, every time I receive SecSetupWizard stopped.
I finally managed to get into system by deleting SecSetupWizard and SetupWizard apps, but message com.googleapps stopped appears every time and there is no market and other apps on phone.
What I just found is that when I go to storage, there is Total space: 0 on device.
Can this be because of bad partitioning? Can somebody post me correct partitions on working JB rom?
Thanks for any help, I'm going in circles and I wasn't able to find any solution so far. Downgrade to GB is working but after reflashing JB same thing happened.

1st take backup of your internal storage device . And pull out ..sdcard.
Use odin and pit file ..as per your internal storage 8 /16 gb.to partition your device properly do check partition box while flashing the rom via odin.

Thanks for fast reply. I have everything backed up, so no problem here.
As for pit file, would you be so kind to send me link to correct pit file for 8 GB device? Or maybe sent yours if you have it? I have my backup pit but I think the problem is here from start. I found some pits in downgrade roms, but this is 1,2 GB download because of small pit file and I'm currently on slow line.
Unfortunately still same problem after repartition with pit from backup and reflashing JB rom.
Is i9070p using /data partition? Because I don't see it mounted.
I think it is probably mmcblk0p5 bout according to mount command it is not mounted and it is empty. From mount I can see that /data is not mounted on anything but rootfs. On my htc phone I have separate mountpoint for /data so I'm wondering now.
Can anybody with i9070p and JB send me output of 'mount' command and if possible also print from parted? Thanks!

I'll check this, thanks!
Meanwhile I found out that there is 100 % problem with /data partition mounting. If I mount it manually I*can see in storage setting that there is now available space. Problem is that when manualy mounting with same options as are in fstab, I'm getting sigsegv from mount command. This is probably reason why it is not mounted and source of all my troubles.
If I remove one of options from mount command, it is working (don't have phone just here and don't remember which is it, it is something performance related).
I'm not sure if there is something with internal flash or if there is some trouble with mount command (I*tried also more recent busybox with same outcome).
Now I'm trying to use init script to mount /data partition. Maybe it will mount in right time, I*will see.
Use the same tool just change the partition name in batch file in zip... and run it.
Hope it works
Looks like data partition is kind of corrupted ...if you can go into recovery you try formating that partition...from there as well.
