I have a problem with my camera if I'm using it in dark situation
It always catches somethings with unusual color - attached (example 2 photos taken with something stick at the camera which means without light)
and I attach 1 more photo taken with some range to the object(the same object), as you can see there's still not very clear picture
I've seen the thread about the problem like this :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2317507
But I realize that it's not a noise problem (ISO controlling), so is there anyone know how to fix it?

nothing different from that thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2317507
send your phone to repair.
you have a bad st electronic camera sensor and they will change it for an omnivision sensor or any other brand, not sure which one they use now.

Clean the lense
I have the same problem.
Tried cleaning the lens, didn't work.
Hard reset didn't work either.
Seems like a hardware fault with the camera.
Wait, are you saying they appear in the "viewfinder" of the app, or the actual photos?
Post an example shot please?
Mostly, It's cameras bug.

Was that supposed to be an answer to my question or a response to someone else?
Really, it's not possible to say whether this is an unusual "feature" or a bug without more info. The way the original poster describes it, it sounds like it might be some unusual framing assist feature in the live preview. No one seems to be willing to say whether it is in the previews or if it is in the actual pictures taken. (I know I have seen the Kaiser pictures thread, and they look pretty good other than some obvious deficiencies in the debayering algorithm that cause "maze" patterns to appear in certain situations, which is a common problem with some of the older/simpler debayering algorithms.)

yes, good question. does it look like this when you view it on your computer, or is it only when it's sized down on your device?
I can see the stripes while taking the picture and they are also part of the saved image. Viewed on the TyTN II and on a PC.
The camera was working fine then all of a sudden just started showing stripes.
Attached are some photos.
Looks like i might have to send the TyTN II for repair.
I also noticed that when you take the battery cover off, it seems like the camare can be taken out, so it may have moved and not making a good contact.

lol my first glance and it looked like you were targeting things with a crosshair. yea thats different than the lines i hought you were talking about, you need to send that back for repair.
Yeah, definately something wrong there, likely broken hardware.
Also I have the same problemna!
This happened to mine too, after working fine for about a month. Seems like a common problem, interesting it shows up after time too. I sent mine in for repair/replacement but it may happen again....
Even my own, for a month everything was ok, then is the line appeared
Same Problem
My camera also did this. I changed the flicker adjustment in the camera settings to 60 hz from auto and it went away, only to reappear again. Again, I changed the flicker adjustment, this time to aut, and it went away again. Very strange. It appears I can paly with the flicker adjustment in the camera settings and make it go away, at least for a while. It appears to be a common problem, likely software related.
i too
hi i too experiance the same problem.......
is there any one to help us... please post a geniune reply to our problem

Anyone know how to fix ? Thanks
Some obvious things:
- Have you changed ROMs/Kernels between shots?
- Did you change any camera settings? White balance maybe?
- Have you checked the lens to make sure it is clean?
Bit hard to tell what has happened without knowing the above.

+ I have tried several ROM (stock GB, stock ICS, CM9), and still got this problem
+ I did not change any thing in setting
+ How can i check lens ?
Not sure there is a way to check lens apart from viewing through camera. I clean mine with an alcohol wipe when I clean the back of the case. You may have some grime on it.
If you have used different ROMs then must be related to the lens I would think. I have noticed that the camera is not so good in room under night time conditions, but does do excellent job outside. Have you tried taking outside shots during the day?

+ Do you need to disassemble your phone before clean lens ?
+ I have tried taking outside shots, and results were the same
No - I onlu clean outside of it very carefully. If you have done that and outside shots are the same then it seems like it is a hardware problem. Did you take any shots of the Sun (silly question I know but with the Transit of Venus last week some people may have pointed phone at Sun and cooked their photo receptor)
THe only other thing I can suggest is to select Reset from Camera settings and then see if that undoes any weird settings that are affecting the picture.

I checked again, and maybe my camera has had problem since taking this pic:

Yes, i reseted camera setting. Maybe i have to bring it to Samsung care
Yes, sorry. Can't think of what else it could be. Good luck
Hi,
My camera shows a very clear lighter rectangle on every picture taken and also live in the viewfinder. It's very visible on darker or HDR shots and less on pics taken outside.
I posted an example picure below. It also seems to be related to the temperature of the phone (e.g. long in use or not). It looks like condense, but it's not because the shape is alway similar and it's been on every pic for a week now.
I'm very hesitant to send it in for repair since I just got it and don't want to wait weeks for the phone to return, but it's very annoying!
What is your opinion, can it be a software bug the will be fixed soon or is it a broken camera sensor? Have you ever seen something like this before (the repair guy from the shop didn;t...)?
Thanks.
I have discovered that my fairly new n7p produces bad quality pictures if light I bright-ish.
Image will contain a mid area with pink artefacts/blooming spots.
Any suggestions to a reason? Bad chip or other issue?
I gave seen some suggestions to reset the phone, but just can't comprehend why that should solve anything...?
See attached picture/zoom to detail.
Regards
Dillerdaller
Maybe try cleaning your lens because I am not familiar in any such issue on TA-1046.
Edit : if your Lens is cleaned then it means that it's probably a hardware damage. Take your device to the nearest service center.
Hi,
I've noticed pink spot/hue issue in the middle of photos taken by main camera my S21 Ultra (Exynos version).
I've checked that some condition must be met to recreate the problem:
- photo must be taken indoor when sunrise appear (but it should be dimm in the room not bright)
- photo taken outside when is cloudy (there is no sun)
- the light must be natural
- on gray and green (khaki) surfaces defect is more visible
Do you also have this problem?
I was send phone to service center twice:
first time camera module was replaced - unfortunately the defect remained
second time - the service stated that the phone and camera is functional
P. S. - laser AF is not a cause - I've covered up and hue still exists.
I've searched forums and found similar problem with xperia z3, htc, galaxy s5 .
I dont know if this is normal, or maybe software update will fix the problem or maybe this is hardware failure?
Really...don't know what to do anymore.
Have you tried to replicate the results using another camera app? If it looks the same, then it's not software.

Definitely a hardware issue buddy... Keep trying with Samsung, print the images you showed us here and give them with the phone so they can see directly and not test it barely and not notice...
@nevellan
Good to see that you created this thread.
I've been noticing the same too from the beginning. Enquiring further, I noticed the same in two other units later. (All Exynos).
I did not /do not see the pink hue when the laser AF is covered.
However, my concern is why to have the pink hue in certain lighting condition irrespective of laser AF is covered or not! This is an issue.
... have also noticed that the pink hue disappears when focus enhancer is ON.
Pink Hue dissapers when focus enhancer is ON,becuase then is used wide camera not main (108 MP).

Try to hide the laser lens..if you still have this , it's a faulty main lens .

Not sure*.
Could be firmware.
Try:
Clearing the system cache
Clear cam data
Hard reboot.
Check cam settings; excessive contrast or saturation could cause it.
A factory reset will do nothing more than likely.
*test to see if it's purple fringing with some high contrast images ie backlit subjects

I did everything you suggested many times - it didn't help.
Covering laserfocus doesn't help either.

If you can return/exchange it do so.
No need to suffer from the get go.
Had this issue with my Galaxy S6 long ago as well. I guess it's normal?

I'm having a similar problem with a purple patch in the middle of the shot but only when photographing black objects in less than ideal light conditions, particularly black materials. The problem exists with the main camera and wide angle, Zooms seem ok. The problem also exists using GCAM. If I force flash there is no problem. Doesn't seem to be an issue in any other circumstances. Strange. S21 U Exynos 16gb.
I ve noticed this too, but only on the gray colors. I am up to date with the software version, july patch. Exynos 256 GB.

Ignorance is bliss
Looks like only Exynos devices are plagued with this defect, one more reason to pass on this problematic SoC.
