[Q] bad boyz on m7 with sense 6, no face unlock - Sprint HTC One (M7)

Hi all,
I flashed bad boyz rom for m7 yesterday. Everything seems fine but I am no longer able to use face unlock. I just get the round collection of dots where my face 'should' be paired with the message "Face Unlock couldn't start"
Anyone else have this happen?
Thanks.

lol...it must have been the ported Rom. The "Official" Bad Boyz Sense 6 (based on latest firmware) Rom just dropped about twenty minutes ago. This will be a much cleaner and overall bada$$ version yet. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=51365212

That was the first Rom I flashed. It's optimized and pretty smooth with a very stock feel. I liked it.

I have a US ATT phone. He's a very respectable dev too. I'm not sure why there's a separate forum for ATT.
Scott moved back to SGS4. They sent him a phone to do Dev on in that forum section. He no longer supports HTC One. I am cuurently on that build (ATT US phone). I tried out ARHD 10.1 for a while, but went back to clean Rom. I wish someone would continue this Rom onto 4.2.2. It's super fast and have not had one issue. It seems this always happens. I find something awesome then the dev leaves.

that is a shame really, I agree if we can get someone like him on board. Not that I dont respect present developers, i Like Mike's work, but arhd 10.1 eats my battery, dont know whats issue.
Actually, ARHD 10.1 isn't bad on my battery anymore. It was really bad the first day or so. But it's much better for me now. I guess it has to be broken in?

Waiting for the 4.2.2 release to flash a custom ROM?

Is anybody else waiting for HTC to release the 4.2.2 base and seeing what the devs do with it before flashing a custom ROM? I've had my One for about 2 weeks now and it's still unrooted and running the stock ROM (this is the longest I've gone so far).
Just wondering if I'm alone in thinking that the devs will come up with better ROMs based on 4.2 than they currently have out for 4.1
Other than quick toggles, I didn't see many stand out features vin the preview.

4.2 isn't a huge step forward. There really is no point in waiting to root and unlock. It's still 'JellyBean' with a few extra features so the difference will be minimal, but I'm anxious for those quick settings myself. I'd say root and S-Off now to get it over with so you can flash immediately when 4.2 comes out.
I was going to wait too. But I got my phone two days ago and ended up flashing two days ago as well...

Not to sound like a lame-o but this is the first phone I've owned where I didn't feel the need to root it. Though I had similar feelings with my Epic 4G Touch a few years ago and ended up flashing probably 50 different ROMS, give or take.

I feel the same way, I've never gone this long without rooting a phone/tablet, it's usually a week at most.
This is the same boat I am in. I am not doing any of the over the air updates so it will be easier to root when it gets to that point. I am actually quite impressed with the phone (coming from the Evo 4g), I've actually thought about keeping this thing stock...then I remember that it will only get faster if I root and flash.
Yup, stock and not rooted. Waiting for the 4.2.2 and hopefully a working flashable rom of the Google Edition One with everything stable. I really want lockscreen widgets. This is the first phone where I'm not willing to sacrifice the stability of the phone, because sense 5 is pretty damn good. I'd definitely prefer an equally stable AOSP rom though.

Well.... if you look at some posts here from yesterday (2 posts up ) you will see the statement.... " Waiting for the 4.2.2 "
I waited a few weeks and started thinking that HTC dev unlock will wipe the device so I might as well get started. That and the process will be quicker once Sprint releases and development starts working to fix any of the unintended features on the new release.

[Q] Has Android L been confirmed for the M7 GPE?

Some time ago I converted my M7 to a Google Play Edition. However, I went back to the stock Sense ROM. I'm not sure why though I do remember the Settings menu and the dialer app in the GPE looking horrible.
Now I'm thinking of going GPE again in anticipation of Android L - but has Android L been confirmed for the M7?
Yes it' confirmed for gpe edition and sense version, the second one after 90 days from the release so the gpe after one or 2 weeks I think

Thanks, think I'll switch back to GPE then
I'm going to switch back when the rom is released. Until then I'll stick with what I got now.

On second thought, I'm gonna wait for Android L to be released as well. I just remembered the butt ugly black settings menu and having to long press the quick settings to activate/deactivate and a couple of other things that drove me nuts when I had the GPE ROM installed

Custom ROM thread

Hi guys, i was thinking of making a custom ROM for the P8 since this phone deserves more to be the nexus 5x than the actual 5x . Nothing too complicated though, just a stock 5.0.1 AOSP with a reizable nav bar, just to be a stock experience. Anyone interrested ? Devs ? I notice that bootloader is unlockable, so the rest should not be hard.
yes. we will wait your AOSP for p8
there is already custom rom
ask this guy .. @Blackball
Thanks, i just did, i wonder though why isn t it posted... We'll see... Btw any idea on where to buy the special touch plus screen protector ? I am from eastern europe btw

It would be awesome to have a stock android ROM for this phone. The hardware looks so awesome that I bought it but the software looks out of place from the stock android apps. a Stock ROM would be awesome. Not saying that the device is slow, I just don't like the all dark backgrounds in apps, it is easier especially in sunlight if you have light background.

[Q] Sense 7 thoughts?

Been a while since I moved away from my M7, however I am looking to resurrect the phone and maybe flash a Sense 7 rom.
When the ports first came out I noticed battery life was rather poor, if not very poor. Perhaps something I was doing wrong at the time, but I never returned to using a Sense 7 rom after that.
How do the latest Sense 7 ports compare these days, particularly over Sense 6 roms which I have found offer better battery life and perhaps more stability?
Any major bugs in Sense 7 roms to note?
What a great phone the M7 is. Many years old but still a powerful phone even on todays market. Good to see the devs still supporting the device.
Thanks.
Anyone?
Thanks.

Not sure if this answers your question, but I found this recent link which seems to offer a version for the M7 which includes Sense 7.
[ link blocked by XDA, will provide later, it's from a Turkish website and it's called "HTC One M7 (7.19.401.151) Sense 7 Ported - v2", you can probably find it online]
I will try translating the comments tomorrow to try to understand what it really is. Anyone familiar with the language please feel free to pitch in. One thing I'm confused about is that it lists the firmware version number as 7.19.401.151 Europe, while the version I recently flashed is 7.19.401.51 (last digits different).

Thank you Mr Kong, that really clears things out.
Now if someone could address OP's initial concern about Sense 7 on an M7, that would be great.
Currently my phone is running ARHD 93.0 on a 7.19.401.51 and after tinkering quite a bit I got Sense Toolbox (Xposed) to work and I'm rather happy with it.

Sense 7 ROMs are pretty much rock stable, with good performance. Battery life is a bit worse than Sense 6, but not much. I tried pretty much all sense 7 ROMs, and each one had at least one small bug that was very annoying to me, so I stuck with stock Sense 6 ROM. By small bug I really mean small, and there are fixes on xda, but I feel that Sense 7 doesn't bring any concrete upgrade, so I don't use it
