from what i know it requires stock kernel source code to be modified, some developers are not comfortable with making that sort of mod

one of the dev's might be able to provide some insight into their reasons

[INT/Bell][CWM]Auto Ram Fixer for unlocked bootloader

Hi,
This is a small CWM zip to add the [email protected] line to your existing boot and recovery partitions to fix the ram issue with the international unlocked bootloader. If the second mem is already there it does nothing.
The point of this is you can have a regular recovery flashed and fix the ram issue without wondering what tegra part you have, it preserves your serial number as well. More useful with stock boot images than custom ones that already have this done.
To use:
Flash with a CWM recovery supporting edify scripting. That means you have an unlocked recovery basically. The program inside the zip can be used on it's own to list the cmdlines already in your phone, or to set them to something else.
As cmdline, it lists, as setcmdline it sets the entire thing, as addcmdline it adds on to the end of the existing cmdline.Cheers!
Great! Looks like our bell friends are having good development as well.

NF, cheers bro I really appreciate the work from you.

So would i need to flash this once and then any ROM I install will have fixed RAM, or do I need to flash this after every installation?

You can just keep it handy on your sdcard and use when needed, it depends on the "rom" you flash, it may or may not have a ram fix solution built in.
Cheers!

It depends on the Kernel the Rom has within it, nothing else.
Furthermore, no offense. But this is kinda useless now. Did you not know we have unified Kernel's? If someone made a Rom without a unified kernel, they can basically shove that Rom.
I do not see a point in this at all. I guess maybe for testing old Roms.....

Hi,
I addressed this already in the OP. It's more for use with stock kernels.
Can you compile the motorola kernel source (pick one) and get a binary exact match for the stock Bell kernel?
No offense to the guys working on kernel's here, but I am not really compelled by the added features/bug fixes, and am concerned more about stability, especially when the source seems to be ATT based. Which is fine if you are running an ATT framework "rom/theme" I guess, even better if you have an ATT phone.
Cheers!

System Ram lists 816 total, so I should be in the clear or should I apply it anyways? Is there not a gig of ram on this thing or is some gpu/frame buffer dedicated?

So, if I understand this correctly, when I flash this it will auto-fix any ROM, kernel or custom recovery that I install?

I would try to port the 3.0 kernel on SGM

But before starting with Kernel v3, I'd suggest be comfortable with those commands and compile existing 2.6.35 kernels without modifications and later with modifications. In that way, you could get more in touch with Kernel development.
Maybe these guides will help for reference :

[dev] [wip] [d415] Demonslayer kernel

so im just starting this thread now so i have it ready wehen i finish out all the bugs. but this is a custom kernel for the d415. So the caf lsk kernel source was harder than e pecred because of lg mods. So I patched our stock kernel to 3.14 and I'm building off that
#added CPU GOVENORS (smartassv2 lulzactive interactivex)
#added SIO I/O scheduler
#tweaks for better speed and security
if you have anyother govenors or schedulers or feature suggestions let me know and ill try to make it happen
My source will be uploaded to my github later today and will be updated as much as possible. You can find that at github.com/demonslayer12349
I think batlin got USB OTG, if you could too it would be great.
Also a custom kernel for stock ROM is a good one. If that isn't already your idea.
@up
It was Mahdi On-The-Go feature, not OTG
Nice maybe you could explain. How you did it ?? On lg site are updated kernel sources for my d405 available !
Or did it actual not compile in your case ??

Kernel Developers for Xperia SP 4.4 Stock?

Hi everyone,
Are there still any kernel developers present for our device?
It would be possible to have Xperia Sony SP 4.4.4 Kitkat, but we need to develop a kernel for that.
DeathZeroFx is also busy making it, but I was wondering if there are more people who are interested.

Since we do have cm11(4.4.4) I don't understand what changes are needed as the base kernel would remain the same(3.4.y). Atmost it would need ramdisk changes. Drivers and blobs are @4.3 and since proprietary can't really change.

[Closed] BeastMode Kernel update UE5 RELEASED

hi all
for those impatient and dare to try, plus able to handle problems ON YOUR OWN as i cannot offer any help at this point:
anyone interested to test an updated version of BeastMode Kernel R154 by @freeza with the latest samsung firmware N960FXXU8FUD1?
please be noted that:
- this might be EXTREMELY DANGEROUS or could BRICK YOUR PHONE in a few seconds, and I am not responsible for bricked devices or any damages which may arise. so, you have been WARNED
- I have NOT TESTED on my n960f yet (just updated to TH4 from pie but not rooted yet for some reasons). SO THINK TWICE!!
- chances the phone may not boot up properly (boot loop or hang) due to the toolchains used to compile the kernel. I have encoutered this before with only one of the four or five gcc i had which booted up the phone successfully
ideal situation to minimize uncertainties:
- already on ud1
- data/cache partition is ext4 formatted (ideally NOT f2fs as supported by bm kernel)
- capable of diagnostic/identify the problems by examining the logcat/last_kmsg and the like would defintely a plus
to be continued...

update 20160616
updated to samsung ue5 sources
i have built 2 different versions, one with gcc 4.9 and the other with gcc 12. there will be only one version in the future (either gcc4 or 12). the reason i built 2 versions this time is in case one of the gcc used doesnt boot probably there's another one to try
differences between @freeza 's R154:
- kernel sources updated (N960F) without any fix or new feature
- not pre-rooted/pre-patched by magisk since the magisk version may differs from what u r using
- NOTE: other devices preiously supported are not recommeded yet, although you may try, i cant make any promise it will work since i didnt look at other devices sources
thinking if i should release it for testing now or wait until i have time to test it myself coz i don want to brick anyone's phone, including mine of coz
