1st = I am not a Programmer, not a Developer, nor a Modder... I just love my ANDROID DEVICE's... these roms will not get updated, they are STOCK ODEX Rom's not ALTERED except for renaming the KNOX files by adding the extension .ori so they would not run, I did not delete any files from these ROM's.
2nd = How to install the rom, JUST go to RECOVERY, ( I use TWRP RECOVERY ), Always make a backup 1st.. These Roms don't wipe ur Data, so if you don't wipe Data you might have some issues, - that being said - wipe SYSTEM, DATA, CACHE, DALVIK CACHE 2 times, DO NOT DELETE SDCARD and EXTERNAL SDCARD, then just flash the rom,...
3rd = Don't hold me responsible, if your phone blows up, or for whatever other damages u do to ur phone, flash at your own risk...

I made these Rom's for my personal use, and thought I would share for others that want STOCK ODEX Rom's, these Rom's are not rooted.
If you want the ROM rooted, goto Chainfire and download the newest SU available, after flashing the ROM, flash SU, reboot the phone, goto the Playstore and then install BusyBox, from Steriscon.

before posting theses Rom's I test them out, so they have no issues or problems...

I remove most of the files you can get from the Play Store from the rom itself (rom name.zip), \system\apps and \system\priv-app
then restore the newest updated files from your \data\apps folder with Titanium Backup free or (PRO) or MyBackup Root free or (Pro) versions.

I've used and shared these Roms, but never prepared this thread, so I made it easier for everyone to access the files they need for the Sprint T217S 7in Tablets..
Firmwares and Stock Odex Roms..
Enjoy..
For these Roms to work correctly, You need to be on the correct firmware or your WIFI, will not work... I just ODIN flashed the KITKAT firmware T217SVPUBNE7_T217SSPTBNE7_SPR-v4.4.2.zip and then ODIN flashed TWRP 2700, all is working fine, then rooted the rom with Chainfire SU v.2.00 flashed with TWRP with no problems at all...
Found all the filled needed thanks bruh

Awesome work. What I don't understand is how there is no raw dump partitions of 4.4.2. As in being able to flash everything through cwm why go through Odin? Is that for the security feature "Knox"? I built a ROM once for the Hercules and I did it off of a raw image backed up and extracted files to build from.

the rom should work through cwm, but I know for sure they work with TWRP, after the update to twrp2700 they work fine...
when I made my first rom, it MH9 it only worked through cwm, but then twrp was fixed, and cwm did not work on NB8
I download the actual firmware from Samsung, It does not wipe data... but it updates the firmware...
I tried the rom first, but my wifi didn't work... but the rom install perfectly... so I did ODIN and flashed the firmware to make sure the tablet is upto date with everything...
I actually stayed with the firmware.. and with rootexplorer, I deleted all the knox stuff...
they added a few extras but these are the locations from my SG Note 3.. there are more files.. but just to give u and others an Idea where they are.
system/etc/secure_storage/com.sec.knox.store
system/containers/framework
system/lib/libknoxdrawglfunction.so
system/app/ContainerAgent.apk
system/app/ContainerAgent.odex
system/app/ContainerEventsRelayManager.apk
system/app/ContainerEventsRelayManager.odex
system/app/ELMAgent.apk
system/app/ELMAgent.odex
system/app/KNOXAgent.apk
system/app/KNOXAgent.odex
system/app/KnoxAttestationAgent.apk
system/app/KnoxAttestationAgent.odex
system/app/KnoxMigrationAgent.apk
system/app/KnoxMigrationAgent.odex
system/priv-app/KLMSAgent.apk
I make the roms for myself, I don't add root, all u need for root is recovery, SU - it always gets updated, that is why I don't put it in... then busybox... I have all that up at the site... in case I need to show the table with all the features, I just install the rom with STOCK ODEX WITH KNOX... that rom has nothing delete.. full rom...

EDIT: I tried the new rom (VPUBNE7) before flashing the firmware (VPUBNE7) and the rom installed just fine, except wifi did not work...
so I just did a full wipe, after the system was running with the firmware (VPUBNE7) with ODIN... and the wifi is not working after a clean wipe from the new firmware.
I saved a backup of the firmware and it restores just fine, the wifi is working...
I do not know why the wifi is not working.. I also tried a fix that has been used... by simply changing this line ro.securestorage.support=true to false in /system/build.prop and it did not work..

see what I think it is is that the modem bin file has not been flashed in the process and thus resulting in no wifi. I believe it is because when you set up the script and Brom raw image of the modem file is not being flashed I might be mistaken so don't quote me on that but if you are somehow able to extract the raw modem file and make it until flashable zipit might solve the problems being that you are flashing radio that pertains to kitkat.I am not familiar with Samsung products as I was more of a nexus guy,but when I did develop for Samsung phones I came across issues with modem files and Wi-Fi

yes we do have issues with other Note 3 roms, if the firmware or modem isn't flashed...
I flashed the firmware, so the modem should be installed or flashed... if I restore from a backup of the firmware wifi works..
the only img... are boot.img cache.img.ext4 hidden.img.ext4 recovery.img system.img.ext4
and I do know the NON-HLOS.bin has to do with the modem, but there is no modem.bin file.. so it has to be with NON.HLOS.bin...
but if I flash the rom over the firmware flash, I also lose wifi.. im kinda stump at the moment...
so I left the firmware, and made a backup of the full firmware, not rooted,... then I rooted and removed files. hopefully someone can catch the error..

There's a particular modem for our device. On the g2 the baseband had to be 4.4.2 in order to be able to boot ROM. Otherwise we had issues . I know that 4,.4.2 rewrites partitions to adjust to the changes but iidk how it would relate to this device, I'm working off the tab 3 itself as of now but will make progress as soon as the chance arises
Would this work on sm-T217T?:fingers-crossed:

I do believe they are all the same, just like the phones, as far as the Note 3's, all the Note 3 should be the same, but I would think maybe that gsm and cdma might be a little different.
only 1 way to find out...... make a backup and flash the tablet... except I would never recommend doing the firmware... u might brick the device.

ok so Im a little lost on the whole be sure your on the correct firmware before going to 4.4.2. I was on 4.2.2 and rooted then went to cm 4.4.2 custom rom but didnt have the wifi and bluetooth fully working as they would knock each other out and the wifi wouldnt detect 5ghz wifi connections. I then decided to give the 4.4.2 that you have here and everything went perfect except for now wifi doesnt work at all. Ive looked everywhere and cant seem to see where I went wrong. It also ended up putting me back on stock sprint which is fine but I would like a hand in figuring out what I did wrong and what I can do to correct it. Oh I also downloaded kies to have it detect the firmware and it said that it was the correct firmware. Any and all help is much appreciated

I wanna go to NE7, just a little confused on the part where you mention, be sure you're on the right bootloader for the rom. How do I make sure I am, I see the boot.img recovery file. Do I do something with that or can I just flash rom with odin? Thanks.

Hey guys..
I have been using Xperia x10 from some time... sold it yesterday and baught this tab...
So, Now i have seen every where on these forums dnt have the clearity how to make things work..
So far i have rooted my device..
Now, i was looking for a new theme for my stock rom
BB P1000DDJJ1
Build no.
FROYO.DDJK3
Kernel ver. is 2.6.32.9..
Now can anyone please tell me how to get started to install the themes , custom recovery ( if requied to do so), boot animations and framework-res.apk (must neded).. please i have looked all over but dont knw how to get started..
( i m new new to all these .. have everything modified on my Xperia X10)
First of all: Welcome to the world of tabs.
So where to start?
Custom recovery: ClockWorkMod (CWM is the one you probably mean and want). While not mandatore, it will make your flashing-life easier. It can be most easily obtained by flashing an appropriate kernel, such as the Overcome Kernel.
As for the rest: The Overcome installation guide, found as an attachment to the first post in the thread linked above, explains everything very well and it is also applicable for other ROMs than the Overcome one.
As far as themes are concerned, they are usually installed by putting the relevant ZIP on your internal SD-card and then installing the ZIP through CWM.
I'm not really sure what else you want to do with your tab exactly so just keep asking for the missing pieces.
first of all "thanks for the reply bro"..
I hav looked upon the link... its a a custom rom... but i am not able to see its requirements like required BB or Build number... so is it compatable for my version?
secondly ..
whats the procedure to backup my current ROM ( factory rom) coz if something goes wrong or if i need to flash back ...
3rldy full wipe is compulsary?? and
lastly it says " NO Modem Included" whats modem and from where will i get my modem..?
Baseband (BB):
I assume your Tab is a GSM-variant? It should be according to the baseband. Then you can go ahead.
Now what does the BB-code mean?
BB = Baseband
P1000 = Your phone's model number
DD = Country Sales Code (CSC) for India
JJ1 = Now I'm stuck. *blushes* I guess your modem.
You will find additional usefull information in the Galaxy Tab Bible
Build:
This is "just" your firmware. Once you flash it, it's gone.
FROYO = Self expplantory
DD = India, once again.
JK3 = Your firmware version. If you are looking for a kernel, make sure it is compatible.
Which once again makes me blush since I have not made sure that the Overcome kernel is compatible. Another great kernel would be Chainfire's CF-Root. However it's not listed as JK3-compatible.
So I guess you will need to take the long way for your first flash and use Odin to flash a newer ROM as well as an appropriate kernel for future explorations.
Since the first official Gingerbread ROM has just been released by Samsung, your timing regarding first flashing experiments is impeccable.
Backup:
People around here seem to love Rotohammer's backup method found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=850359
So who am I to argue? My original firmware is lost for all eternity and I don't miss it
Full Wipe:
Sometimes it is recommended, sometimes not. From my own experience it is best to do a wipe if the ROM's author tells you so or if you install a new ROM from a different author.
Titanium Backup (there might be others) is your friend here: it backup s all your apps and data and restores them after a wipe. It does require root, though. However your tab is already rooted so you're good to go.
Just one caveat: In my experience restoring system data might sometimes lead to problems. If in doubt, wipe again and restore the user apps+data only.
No modem:
For Overcome this just means that it will keep your existing modem file. Though you might replace it with one that suits you.

I assume that JK3 symbolises my modem ( not sure ) as on rom page it says : JK3 modem "... and in your opinion what shud i do.. please help .. dnt want myself in any trouble ... lol
and is samsungs 2.3 official out? and shud i flash that? .. badly confused..!
Then JK3 is the version of your ROM and the version of your modem. So the easiest way to determine what JJ1 is (any more experienced user would probably know ... ah well ...) is to plug it to your computer and see what Kies spits out.
Regarding what to do next:
You could search for a kernel with JK3-support to flash any ROM of your choice more easily and with less risks involved (since your phone does everything itself, so you remove the risks of accidental unplugging or your computer/Odin acting up at an inopportune moment).
Or you could go ahead and directly flash a custom ROM with a new kernel through Odin.
The two things you will need to consider however are
1. locales: does the ROM support the language(s) you need?
2. APNs: Do you know the settings of your APNs? If neither you nor the ROM do, you might be without any data connection until you enter the APNs (which you should be able to find through Google or by asking your Operator; they are not secret).
The current JQ1 might not meet you requirements since it was released for Italy.
Edit: I forgot to mention in regard to you saying you don't want to get yourself into trouble: read the instructions and the relevant guides (Chainfire's instruction for installing his kernel and the Overcome installation guide are thorough and widely applicable) then you should not be getting yourself into more trouble then you want by deciding to flash your device anyway. But you probably already know that from your experience with the X10.
Hello honorable SGT colleagues, according to my experience the Overcome P7300 v2.3.0 ROM is an amassing masterpiece that worked for me absolutely flawlessly with KJ6 modem at impressive CDMA/3G speeds… until after Google map app inadvertently hanged up due to the lost internet connection.. subsequent reboots and hard resets to the factory did not fix modem malfunction with the same error even after repeated rolls backs to several Russian v3.1 stock ROMs (PDA/CSC/PHONE) flashed by Odin 1.85 together with re-partitioning by p5_0614 PIT mapping table kindly provided by Nirogy325 at General Tab Questions - every ROM (either stock and custom) I used to try did not flash PHONE firmware properly, with baseband version always indicated as “unknown” in the system properties tray and of course, GSM/CDMA modem not operable.. the rest of COMM functions as is WI-FI and Bluetooth seems absolutely normal… does anybody have a clue what happened with my damned tablet and what might be possible cure? Will be extremely grateful for any advice
Try this cwm restock version..
I dont know if this file will be your solution,
But i dont have any issues with this..
Just give it try..

Hello Suwandiapr, thank you very match for your support! Hopefully your system.tar will cure my problem with incorrectly flashed modem…I am unctuous to try it as the last remedy, but sadly could not download your file from the turbobit.net.. Would you kindly try to upload the file to the files.mail.ru with the link sent to my mail address [email protected] ? Files.mail.ru is a popular Russian file exchange server with free hosting and free registration, it might also be useful for your future needs, to employ the server just create your ***@mail.ru account at files.mail.ru

Just Make a CWM Version of ROM from this thread..
It is a CWM flashable zip that will install STOCK ROM on your tab..(without CWM and root of course in the end)
Support MultiCSC..
This includes the stock kernel, recovery image and Modem..include system.tar dump directly from mine..
Heres the instructions:
First you need CWM (overcome v5.1.2.6 or v5.5.0.4) for install this ZIP..
Download this file: http://turbobit.net/nc42yb1ig2s0.html
Put the file on your internal storage/sdcard
Reboot into recovery
Choose wipe data/reset Factory option before install
Choose from Install Menu -->Install zip from Internal storage
Choose zip from SDCARD
Select the P7300XWLA2_P7300OXXLA2_P7300XXKJ6.zip
Wait about 5-7 Minutes
After "Done", reboot.
Welcome to a completely stock XWLA2 with new modem
Scripts from alterbridge86 file from this thread..

Greetings folks. Been playing with my T-Mobile Galaxy Note for about a week and thought I would put together a little basket of goodies and quick starts to make the transition a little easier for the rest of us. I will keep this short and sweet. Follow up rooting guides posted in post 2. If these help, don't forget to hit the thanks button and/or donate. For anything that's not my work, I'll post/clean up the sources/credits/references tonight. Also, I am testing out a new online storage facility, so mirror these as soon as you can since I might have to bring it down in a month or so. If you need anything that's not here, just ask.
Disclaimer:
1. This post is intended for the T879 only. Some tweaks are necessary to get a full port of the build/baseband from the T-mobile Note to the AT&T Note. Stay tuned.
2. As is common knowledge, you use of any of these files/guides at your own risk and I am not responsible for any damages your may incur in doing so.
1. T-Mobile Note Goodies
a. T879-PRE-ROOTED STOCK SYSTEM IMAGE UVLG3 BUILD - WILL NOT TRIP FLASH COUNTER. https://www.onlinefilefolder.com/3s7FNMjsmCGLMWi. This is the latest build from the OTA update. It has been pre-rooted with the Super user, su, and busybox 1.21 installed. Flash this through ODIN. It will not increase your flash counter. Thanks to roloracer for doing for the i717 first and letting me know this was possible!
b. T879-STOCK RECOVERY IMAGE - https://www.onlinefilefolder.com/3sx0g1iX7W331Ui. This is the stock T-Mobile recovery for the T879. If you rooted using rotohammer's UVLF5 nandroid backup then you are likely stock with the UVLF5 build and cannot get the OTA update to complete because you don't have the stock T-Mobile recovery. Flash this recovery to revert to stock recovery, then the OTA update will complete without aborting and bring you to the UVLG3 build/baseband combo.ii. After you complete the OTA update, flash the pre-rooted system image in 1.b. above for easy root.iii. N.B. If you used Android Revolution's nandroid backup and you already have the UVLG3 build but not the UVLG3 baseband, the OTA update will not initiate because it thinks your phone is already completely updated. Flash the radio below to get the updated baseband to match the UVLG3 build. Speeds are best for me with the matching build/baseband.c. T879-UVLG3 Modem - https://www.onlinefilefolder.com/3sO3MvY67FK1gR | I717-UVLG3 Modem - https://www.onlinefilefolder.com/3sZxbRD5plbMWBi. This is the latest modem from the OTA update. I managed to get DAGr8's AOKP CM9 rom to boot and it was functional except for mounting external_sd so some tweaks are needed. May post a guide on what I did.e. T879-FLASH COUNTER RESET - https://www.onlinefilefolder.com/3sifFwMg3wmcKRi. If you flashed CWM through ODIN you tripped the flash counter. Use this to reset it to zero. How to get T-Mobile 879 Galaxy Note into download mode
To get the T-Mobile phone into download mode it MUST be connected via usb to your computer first. Then hold volume button up and down while turning the phone on. When the warning prompt come up, press the volume up button.
Rooting guides.
If you're like most people and couldn't care less about tripping the flash counter (especially since you can reverse it) rooting is easy.
1. Apply the OTA update
2. Download the odin flashable CWM touch recovery in bullet item f. in post 1.
3. Flash that through ODIN
4. Download the super user zip in bulllet point g. of post 1 and flash through CWM. You should now be rooted. Alternatively, download a rooted custom rom - karryt has a UVLG3 build posted here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1838067. I think that rom is rooted. If not just apply the super user zip after installing that rom.
5. If you did not complete the OTA update as stated in 1. before flashing CWM or a custom rom, download the modem in bullet point c. in post 1.
6. Now, download the flash counter reset in e. in post 1 and flash through CWM to reset your flash counter.
7. That's it. You should be cooking. When more roms pop up, you will have your phone in CWM all the time flashing roms and missing calls like a player.
8. Thank rotohammer, Android Revolution, karryt, and easyguy for getting the ball rolling doing all this and posting about it. Thank braway for flash counter reset. Thank me too ( it's just a button ).
If you have an unrooted t-mobile note and you want root without tripping the counter:
1. Apply the OTA update now when you still have the stock recovery.
Do that first. If you wait until after flashing CWM you won't be able to get OTA and will have to use another method (easy enough) to update your phone
2. After your OTA update successfully completes, download the pre-rooted stock image to your computer
3. Flash that image in odin. To do that:
i. Put your phone in download mode.
ii. Click the PDA button and select the tar ball you downloaded
iii. Make certain only "Auto-reboot" and "F. Reset time" are selected
iv. Click start
4. Let the phone reboot
5. Now you should be rooted but WAIT. You cannot use any custom roms just yet. now you need CWM.
6. If you want CWM but are paranoid about tripping the flash counter:
i. Download rom manager from market and use rom manager to flash CWM - Select the version for the i717 if a T879 is not yet available
ii. Now you have CWM and can create your nandroid backups and get started flashing custom roms.
iii. If you prefer CWM Touch, download if from the list in post 1 (fourth in the list) and flash it through CWM.
7. Thank rololancer for showing us i717 folks this was possible. Thank me too
Running T-Mobile T879 Stock rom and radio on the i717
*EDIT: Had to change these instructions a bit
1. Download the pre-rooted image (first in the list above)
2. Download the odin flashable boot.img
3. Put your phone in download mode
4. Start odin.
5. Flash the pre-rooted image
6. Your phone will reboot - keep holding the volume down button so you get back into download mode
7. If you miss download mode, the phone will try to boot but you will end up at a blank screen
7. Turn off the phone, remove the battery, reinsert the batter and power on the phone while holding the volume down button. This will get you back into download mode.
8. Now that you are back in download mode, start odin
9. Start odin
10. Flash the odin flashable boot image from post 1
11. Lastly reboot into CWM and flash the radio for the i717 from here this brew in CWM.
12. That's it.
13. No promises on improvements especially upload speeds. Like I said on jeet's thread ... "Not much of a speed improvement though. The T-mobile Note gives me 10-16Mb down and .8-1.2 Mb up. Best I have gotten with the modem on the I717 is 6.7Mbs down and .4 Mbs up and that is with a fully stock T-Mobile rom running on the AT&T note so the T-mobile lib files are being used. When I flashed the radio on an AT&T i717 rom - AOKP CM9, so lib files built for the i717 were being used, the results were about the same. So, the radio/rom themselves don't present that much of an improvement, but the complete T-Mobile Note definitely gave me more love in the speed department. Still funny though that I cannot get past 1.2Mbs on uploads. Anyhow, seems unless someone is able to edit the amss.bin without breaking the signature, that's the best we can get out of the i717 for now."
EDIT: Got 10Mbs and 8 Mbs down on this modem consecutively, then 3Mbs down. Uploads still 500kps. Then another 9Mbs, so teh modem seems capable of pulling high speeds, just not as consistently as the T879. On the T879 I can hit 9Mpbs and above consistently. Uploads vary between 800kbs and 1.2Mbs.
EDIT2: Last edit. Downloads are more consistently in the 8Mbs - 10Mbs range now with some 3-4Mbs in there.Attached are two speed test screen shots to give you an idea.
Booting I717 AT&T Galaxy Note Roms s
Ok, I have only tried this with DAGr8's AOKP CM9. It boots and is useable but there is an issue with mounting the external sdcard which I was working on but ran out of time. Anyhow, these are the steps to get it booted.
1. Get the rom flashable zip
2. Get CWM specifically for the I717. This will save you a lot of trouble because most devs use assert checks to verify the you're installing the rom on the "correct" device (in this case the i717 not the T879. Safety first, but it can be a pain. I don't think I have that file on the server so do a quick search on the I717 forum for the quincy-att cwm.
3. Flash the rom in CWM
4. Flash the T-mobile boot.img in odin. Alternatively, restore your boot.img from CWM from a T879 backup.
5. Reboot. Don't be alarmed if there is no boot logo (AOKP unicorn). So long as the second Samsung logo pops up at some state ... the one that glows, the rom will continue to boot and you should soon be greeted by the home screen.

Wrong reply. OK, I went ahead and gave it a shot on my i717 and it ran pretty smoothly after giving the T-mobile bloatware a chance to settle down. Check post 2 for what I did.

Yes, you would flash it through odin. It's only for people who don't want to trip the flash counter. Look at the rooting guides in post 2 and decide which method is best for you. Most people will opt for the nice and easy method in the first guide.
Im on a rooted att note.... What would be the recommended way?
I also dont know what flash counter or tripping flash counter is lol

The flash counter tells warranty people if the phone was flashed to non stock roms or other software and modifications via odin. So it can sometimes void your warranty if they(warranty people) are on top of things and do their job.
Braway came up with a program to reset it to look like it was not tampered with. So if you have problems, it can be returned or warrantied without the "I wonder if they will honor this since I modded my phone?" type of guilty questions to self!
@ tomin- you have been verry busy!! Great thread. Thank you. I am looking forward to ?maybe? getting the ATT version to work flawlessly on tmo! I am thinking positive here!:fingers-crossed:

I should have also added flashing stuff via CWM does not bump up your flash counter. Putting CWM on your phone via Odin does bump it.

It's up. Third guide in post 2. Gotta say, even with a fully stock T-Mobile image and radio (expect for the amss.bin needed to prevent lagging) the results are still not as great as the T-Mobile Note. The speeds are consistently 5-6Mbs down and .4-.5Mbs up. So uploads, which was the only real problem I suffered on the i717 are still paltry.

so we have to flash the radio in the new thread for att users not the one previously posted on the thread?
I guess if we cant get passed 1mb uploads ill stick to the ROM and ICS Blaze radio till someone makes a big improvement.

Hi All,
Since this is my first post, my name is Robin and my hobbies are house music, playing the guitar and video games. nice to meet you!
I require some help with flashing a custom rom to my Samsung Galaxy S Advance (GT-I9070).
My goal is to have custom Rom working. The reason to change from stock 2.3.6. to a custom Rom is that is has become too slow and unresponsive to work with. I have changed to CM11 and then to Carbon Rom, and really like it, but both have a problem with reception. This is why i post it here, i don't think it is related to just a single Rom but to my phone in general.
I tried the following:
1. Gain root access through Odin. (baseband was originally I9700XXLK2, Dutch, carrier Tele2, which uses T-mobile network. not sure if the telephone was locked to this carrier).
2. flash TWRP using Odin.
3. download CM11 and google apps and flash it using TWRP.
4. no signal and com.phone.android stopped working every minute, as well as slow response when pressing power button.
5. flashed carbon rom, same problems.
6. went to xda-devs on irc for help, a nice guy explained to me that the problem likely resides in baseband.
7. downloaded the newest stock firmware for T-mobile in the netherlands from sammobile, extracted the modem.bin,md5 (after backing up efs and modem by help of the xda-dev on irc) and flashed it through odin as PDA after creating a tar file out of mode.bin.md5 ( by command tar -H ustar -c modem.img > modem2.tar)
8. Now the problems are gone except for the fact that i still have no reception! and baseband under settings --> phone is "smallband: unknown"!
Does anyone know of a solution to my problem? I wish to get reception. Did i not flash t he new modem image right?

You must flash stock JB to get its baseband to be able to use 4.1+ ROMs. If you have I9070, beware not to install I9070P firmware, because that will hardbrick your phone.
You can get firmware from samsung-updates.com or sammobile.com and look in general section for rest of guides, you have one thread with most needed stuff.

Hi, I wanted to change the ROM of my old GT-N7000 as I recently got a Note 4 but I did what I should have never done.
I wanted to install TWRP to get the Spirit ROM. TWRP app downloaded well from the Play Store and I did it!
When I restarted the Note I stayed with the Samsung Galaxy Note screen and since several days I cannot found out anything to install a new Rom.
I searched the Web, found out a few guide saying to install CWM but I don't have any Recovery mode available now.
I still get the connection in Odin when I put the Note in download mode but that's all.
Please, if someone could help and tell me what to do. I'm a homeless and all my money is going into cyber to search for solutions.
I really need one.
Thanks anyway...
Really, nobody can help?

Hi, thanks for your answer.
I just don't have any idea of I could install.
Everything I tried failed or links are too old and things are not available anymore.
I do think I should format or erase everything and reinstall something but what and from where ?
If you can help I would thank you a lot as the phone is unusable since several days now...

Okay, so...
From my old stuff in an external HD i Have this :
ROM STOCK WIPE SAMSUNG - N7000XXLC1_N7000OXALC1_OXA (GingerBread).zip
Rooted Stock Odex N7000XXLC1 (GingerBread France).rar
XEU-N7000XXLT9-20130611091825 (Jelly Bean Euro).zip
In the link you gave me they ask to download a firmware from SamMobile but they are 3 for the French GT-N7000 and my last update was a 4.1.2 working with any provider, even in Spain (I do live in Spain). Secondly, one have to be a premium member to download those firmware.
I think I should be able to install what I need using files I already have but Odin doesn't recognize .zip or .rar files and I don't know what to do. I upgraded the system a few years ago and don't remember how.
I also have no idea if zhat i recently did with TWRP changed partitions size and if it is the case then I have no idea of how to use PIT files.
Also, those guides refer to versions of program not available anymore and sometimes they changed names of buttons...
Have you repartitioned your phone? Those .zip files have .md5.tar files and odin recognise then in the AP section. I think that the 1-st .zip maybe is firmware. For download firmwares only you need to register for free to download firmwares with slow download speed (aproximately hour or two for downloading a single firmware file).

No I didn't change size of partitions...
I finally tested a XEU-N7000XXLT9-20130611091825 (Jelly Bean Euro) I had (don't know where it comes from). Unziped and opened in Odin with the AP button.
It installed this new ROM and the phone started but is not rooted anymore. I have now a 4.1.2 which doesn't seem to be one a got before,
At least I can start the phone...
What surprise me is to see the TWRP app on the phone screen and also SuperSU. SuperSU say the phone is not rooted.
Now, I suppose I have to forget everything about TWRP and must think about CWM no ?
If I want to test and then, install different ROM I sometimes see that TWRP is the one needed to do the job...
What do you think I should do now ?
Root the device using CWM or something different ?
You can try everything you want in the Android development section but this time follow the steps as they are and use the kernels and recoveries that are suitable for the deserved rom. Probably your Note is with custom 4.1.2 now. I am now using my Note with Leanige OS, based on CM12 and android 6.0 and am not having problems plus the phone is running very smooth and fast. This rom is using own Kernel, recovery and google apps(gaps) package.

You really interest me...
I'm surprised cause it's because I found out a guide to instal a 6.0.1 which needed TWRP that drive me to install it.
I'm really confused too because I downloaded TWRP app from the Play Store and it accepted to downlñoad and install the app to my phone. It also accepted to download the Rom and it's when I restarted the device that I met me with an unusable phone...
So ?...
Sure, if I wasn't alive I wouldn't have done that but is it all my fault ????
I would ne glad to get all the steps you did and files you got to install your ROM on mine Ç(as far as it speak french and spanish too )
Is it "Leanige OS" or "LineageOS ?
What about the battery ? The autonomy ?
And I must say I'm a homeless and don't have a computer with a 22= screen in my backpack. Also I have only 1 Gb of data each month so...
Most of the time when I have problem that means I have to go to cyber and this is never free....
Then I cannot really read everyday everything about all my devices ( and I'm not only speaking about phones)
Anyway thanks a lot to everybody who help me...
This is what I use now : https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-note/development/rom-nightowl-alpha1-t3255536 It is stable and usable as a every day phone. I followed every step Bauner wrote and I don't have issues for now. Battery life depends on the use of the phone and how old is the battery. Mine is 2012 and it can hold 1 day and it is logical.
Try using Kies to restore it. I had to use Kies to update the OS on my bratty little sisters Note as she had gotten it running full throttle all the time.

Hi, I will try now to upgrade the ROM but wanted to ask you if you make any change to your partition size and if yes what did you do, I mean how much place did you allow for the system?
Tell me if your phone is rooted and how you did it and if you have CWM or TWRP installed please...
Thanks
I downloaded those two files:
N7000_STOCK_PIT.zip => In case I have to reinitiate partition size one day
n7000_(16gb)_4_6_8_10_12gb.zip => Cause I think this one should be the one I need.
I suppose I should be allowed to use the ROM I just previously installed which give me a 4.1.2
Well....mine is repartitioned with 8GB internal and 5gb for sdcard0. It is rooted of course with TWRP. Rooting comes with the rom. It has SU instaled and to root the device you only need to go in the dev options and to tick on the root acess.

I am dowloading this https://forum.xda-developers.com/devdb/project/dl/?id=25384 and I am a little bit surpised cause of the file size...
It should be bigger for a full OS no?
I'm a little bit stuck with this http://opengapps.org/?arch=arm&api=6.0&variant=micro
What version should I get and how did you install TWRP ? The las version of this ROM must be installed with it...
Well I lied to you. I am using Philz touch CMW recovery and sorry for that. The size of the Rom is normal. With the Gapps you just need to hit the download button (red one) and flash it later. Install could be not a big problem. The steps are in the post. If you didn't find them here they are: Copy Rom + Google Apps to your sdcard.
3.flash PhilZ-cwm6-XXLT6-XSA-5.06.1.tar.md5 (https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=745425885120702299) to get cwm recovery by using odin or mobile odin
4. boot into recovery
5. flash this kernel https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=95887005526788121 to get an updated cwm recovery
(this step will make your old rom unbootable stuck in the n7000 screen but you can boot into recovery with press and hold "home" and "volume+" buttons and power on your phone)
6. you need to reboot! your device now to recovery
7. you are now in the updated recovery and you need to do a factory reset (and to go sure you should also format the /system partition)
8. you can now install the rom and gapps and reboot your device
