G1 problem help!

Hello. i bought G1 and i have one problem. When i write mz gmail adress and pass and it pass me than it say SIGNED IN SLIDE KEYBOARD BACK TO CONTINUE. when i slide it back nothing happend. i try reflash FW. please help. What can be there broken? any sensor which know when is keyboard up or down? or any mechanical thing? heelp

Did you wipe before flashing?

Yes. notthing happend. I must know what hardware part is bad. and replace it.

OK! PROBLEM SOLVED! I founf excellent magnet in Notebook HDD. It was 1mm high. (excellent) and i can broke it east that i can make about 7x5x1mm magnet then i use glue and everythings work

Is that what McGyver's like? Some kind of one man A-Team? Never seen any, only thing I know (Richard Dean Anderson is McGyver) I learnt from The Simpsons.

Yeah that's all I've bothered to put since I last wiped and even GPRS seems to work somehow.

Just one question, does "Virgin" appear on your lock screen? It doesn't appear on the lockscreen or notification bar but it shows up in Settings > About > Status. That's on Cyanogen Mod 4.17, on Hero it shows up as normal. When using an O2 SIM the carrier shows up as normal on Cyanogen 4.17.

No it doesn't, I can't remember whether it did on stock rom or not.

I came upon this keyboard yesterday, and loved it... apart from one thing. It works perfectly except it's distorted. I'm guessing it was made for a different resolution than our Vogue's?
I'm also wondering if anyone has a version that looks good on the Vogue?

i have several versions to try but i cant get the keyboard to change after i install it. i even went into settings and checked touch input. what am i doing wrong

If you have the default keyboard open, hold down on the "?123? and select "Input Method" when it pops up.
Or, hold down on any text field and the same menu should pop up.
Then just select the new keyboard.

I have this keyboard and it works great! Plus on myn's build the vibration is increased somehow

No, it's not from myn's. There are a bunch of different versions. Try searching HTC_IME on the forums or on Google.
I believe it's made for 320x480, so I'm looking for a 240x360 version. Unfortunately I've had no luck.
I think if someone could get it out of a Sense 240x360 (Tattoo?) build it would work perfectly.

I can get you HTC_IME from Vilrod's SenseTattoo build, but it is not deodexed and I am not sure which framework file do I need to provide for it work on Google Donut.

Try Gesture Search from google, with a gesture you can search in whole phone...

yeah my google search box doesnt pick up contacts either, even though they are selected as searchable items i have to tap the g icon and select people for it to search my contatcs, rather annoying to tell the truth

Am I suggesting something blazingly obvious when I say "press the search button on the front of the phone"?
When I press that and then start typing it looks through everything. Contacts, social networks, tweets, emails, apps, settings, calendar, recent searches etc
Works fine for me, and means you don't need a widget for it either!

um, yeah, i always use the search capacitive button to invoke search its just that for some reason it doesnt search contacts even though people is sleceted under searchable items, i have to manually change it to search people only. it could be something to do with the fact that i am using adw launcher instead of sense.

The search "button" on my phone searches contacts, just tested it now.

its probably a rom issue then as you are running a different one to me. i'm on stock sense at the mo with adwex on top. was running oxygen and miui on my old desire but didnt like miui when i tried it on the dhd so waiting for cm7 at the mo

Yeah, deffo sounds like a ROM thing as I just asked a friend at work with a DHD to check and he can search his contacts too. His is 100% stock.
I do recommend Android Revolution ROM if you get bored waiting for a decent CM7 build

I highly recommend Android Revolution HD 2.0.6 non-OC version.
There's currently a few problems with the OC kernal version (YouTube and video playback is broken for some) but the non-OC version is blazing fast anyway and I'm sure it wont be long before Mike (the ROMs dev) fixes those small issues.

Yeah, I flashed the latest radio last week when still on AR 2.0.3 and it's seems like a good one.
I did a full wipe with the tool provided in the thread when going from stock to AR 2.0.3. I learned from my time with my old HTC Hero that it's usually always best to wipe unless updating the same ROM from one version to another, even then sometimes a wipe is still needed. It usually states in the change log of each ROM though, but in your case I'd definitely do it.
It's an effort if you have loads of apps and want to keep various settings etc, but this is when Titanium Back-Up and Google contacts sync saves the day

Hello, I need to disable my search key. I am tired of the grief it has brought me and I want it gone. I have searched Google and have found no solution. I thought I might try this but don't want to screw up anything.

LOL. After a just a couple weeks owning my cappy I've been super annoyed at this button as well. I often hit it instead of the button next to it by accident. I came across this (http://androidforums.com/captivate-support-troubleshooting/188818-search-hard-button-going-itself-help.html) as a method to change the key myself. I haven't done it yet but I plan on doing it after my charge is done.

That tutorial didn't work. I have checked all of my .kl files and there is nothing in that whole folder that contains SEARCH WAKE_DROPPED.

Guys, come on. I've been through this... the latest HellyBean ROM has controls for the capacitive buttons...

I feel foolish. Even though I run EuroSkank, the settings are indeed inside Settings > System > Hardware Keys > (Enable) and just disable the search key. Works great.

No option for hardware keys.

Hey, just flashed to helly to give it a spin. It's there. Settings, system, scroll down. Hardware keys is the last option there.

2) http://rootaxbox.no-ip.org/derteufel/Helly_Bean/addons/ (Helly_Bean_AddOn_20120729.zip or Helly_Bean_Inverted_AddOn_20120729.zip)
I used inverted addons but you can use either. It's just a inverted colors (I use black/dark themes so inverted works nicely for me)
I think it's just the addons you are missing. Dump that in your root and just flash it the same way you flashed the ROM. Should be good as gold after that!

Give this a shot: comment out the Search key
Worked for me in the past- I had tried remapping the key to no avail.

You could just jump into titanium and uninstall Google search... Works fine then the button does nothing

The hardware keys setting in CM10 and CM10.1 allows setting the search key to no action. I leave the long press search key action as 'search'
This works fine for me.

Omnirom incoming call screen

Hi all, I've been searching for this for a couple of days now, but the answers found don't really seem to do what I want.
I like the way Omnirom is handling the incoming calls with a small pop up screen with callerid and a way to pick up and hang up the phone.
I tried the solution with Xposed & GravityBox, works fine when the screen is on, but my phone screen most of the time is off. Then the full screen caller id pops up
It's there a way to flash the phone app from Omnirom to implement this to my phone without needing to flash Omnirom?
I really like the OPO, but I don't like the pixellated fullscreen caller id's. I know who is calling by name, I don't need the faces

I want to try to pick the right apk's from the Omnirom, but which ones do I need? Or is it impossible to do it like this?

My mokee rom has this on my atrix hd. There is a mokee rom for the opo too. You better ask them or omirom people how its done.
