My Moto X is rooted and had Xposed Framework. I've checked the logs in tasker nothing that mentions brightness there. In the Xposed Framework logs it mentions attempting to hook status bar layout. No sure how to figure out if it's related to my problem/which module might be apart of the issue. It seems to like to turn it off every 5 to 4 mins. It's getting really annoying to have to keep turning on night.
I'm going to try turning all the modules off and turning them back on 1 by 1. Any other suggestions?
Do you have any apps like batteryguru installed?

If you have Xposed i think you have Gravity box you should check that.

I have no idea why, but today the LED notifications started to stay on when the screen is on. Stock rom with Xposed (GB and Xprivacy only) and Franco R32 kernel. I don't use any apps to control the LED (ie: LIghtflow). Weird.
its a feature of some kernels/roms i believe, find out if its a Franco kernel feature.
I have been running Franco R32 since it came out (over a month) and this just started happening. Maybe Google fixed something with a silent update.

No, it's not supposed to be on when the screen is on. My guess is that it's one of the xposed modules that are doing this. If you haven't changed those either, then I have no clue.
Led still flashes with screen on if the lock screen is enable you have to unlock it for the led to stop...
It happened to me too, green led notication for a Whatsapp message. I've unlocked the phone, read the Whatsapp message, but the led was still blinking...

If anyone can figure out how this happened, I'd like to know! I'd love to have my LED work with the screen on.

yeah i think it a feature of some roms and kernels i kinda like it
It's been happening to me off & on over the past weeks - haven't been paying close enough attention to the circumstances in which the led stays on. But I'm stock and, at the moment locked, so it's not a custom ROM or kernel. I do use Lightflow, but officially kitkat does not allow it to control the led with the screen on.
'tis a mystery!
Do any of you use this xposed module?

This module combined with other apps that requests app notification access would keep the LED forever stuck too. After that, I decided to stop running stock, and just run a ROM with built in LED settings.

I had this happen for a while when running Franco. I went back to stock kernel, no issues.

Last night I was at home and noticed my wifi wasn't on, so I used the quick settings in the shade to toggle it. After a few seconds, wifi connected, and some unknown app took focus and closed repeatedly. After a few moments, it stopped and all was well.
I thought it was strange, so I turned wifi back off and the same thing happened. I rebooted, tried again, and got the same result. I was trying to think of a way to see what was happening, so I tried using the Screen Record function in Gravity Box, which didn't help much, because it happens so fast, and no info is displayed, just a black window that goes away quickly.
I then turned on the CPU usage in Developer Options to see if anything consistently came to the top when toggling. I saw a few apps each time Plume (Twitter), and Maildroid (email) were two of them. Both of these apps behave differently on wifi and 3G/4G (push vs. pull), so thought -maybe- it could be something with that. I uninstalled both of those, rebooted and tried again, getting the same result.
I recorded the screen when this was happening with the CPU usage displayed, and was wondering if anyone has any ideas? I don't really want to uninstall and reinstall EVERY app on my phone, so I was hoping someone may have seen this before or see something I'm missing when watching it happen.

Thanks for any input anyone can offer!
Do you check virus from your phone ?
I am also having this, seems to be due to 4.4.2 OTA, which I continue to delay as I am rooted.
Mine doens't only happen with wifi change, but also just randomly when using hangouts, keyboard stays out but hangouts min -> maxes quickly. I have tried freezing the update apps but it apparently didn't do anything as I was still asked to update earlier.
Only hangouts? I have that app disabled.in the app settings.
I can't say for sure that being on 4.4.2 fixed it, but I am on 4.4.2 now and it is not happening anymore.
I unlocked my bootloader and did the 4.4.2 SBF, unlocked and rooted. I installed probably 99% of the same apps (only ditched 1-2 that I never used anymore) and I am not having the flashing issue anymore.
Hard to tell for certain if the pending OTA was the cause, but it may have been.
I've been experiencing this strange issue that I've never seen on any phone before. Nothing has happened recently to coincide with this.
The animation where the app shrinks away and then is replaced with app I'm fast switching to appears, except the same app comes back, as if it was fake switching apps. I don't do anything to cause this. It just randomly happens quite frequently.
Any thoughts?

Temporarily disable Xposed / GravityBox and see if these issues disappear. Post back, and we may be better able to help you troubleshoot the issue.
I temporarily disabled GravityBox and it was fixed. Great, right? So I enable again and it still works. Awesome! Fast forward to this morning, it's back. ?
Hello all,
I'm rooted and froze some bloat using TB, but now when I enable Ultra Power Saving or Power Saving mode, the phone reboots every couple of minutes until I turn Power Saving mode off.
Anyone else seen this problem? I don't recall freezing anything directly related to this. I used one of the freeze/uninstall lists that was posted a while back.
Any help is appreciated! Thanks!
I'm having the exact same issue :/ does someone know anything about it?
Bump

I read somewhere that freezing the stock keyboard can cause reboots in ultra power saving mode.
If you're just using regular power saving mode then I have no clue... Have you tried a factory reset?
This thread is from the sprint note 4 forum where they are discussing this:

OP, are you using Wanam and/or DVFS disabler of any kind? Possible connection there on the Sprint thread, although not confirmed. I'm having the same issue as you btw (with power saving mode, not ultra power saving mode). I do have wanam, and dvfs is currently disabled there...

i found out what was causing it. Its the xposed modules uninstall all of them. and disable xposed. i never had reboots after that.

It's actually not all of the xposed modules...it's seems to be only modules that disable DVFS. In my case I had disabled DVFS through Wanam xposed, and as soon as I enabled DVFS (and rebooted, just to be sure), suddenly I could turn on Power Savings mode without gettings reboots. So you don't have to get rid of xposed or all your modules, just don't disable DVFS. Not sure if this is normal or a bug, but I posted a question about it in the Wanam thread and will report back here if I get any news.
Apparently (I use that word because I don't think I have ever seen this feature officially listed) the S5 automatically switches to speakerphone when you take the phone away from your ear. I guess this is supposed to be a convenience, but for me it just doesn't work well, activating speakerphone too often when the phone IS up to my ear.
Is there any way - a setting I haven't found, an app I can freeze, xposed module, whatever - to disable this functionality altogether?
Never seen or heard of that.. Did you google it?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G870A using XDA Free mobile app
Yes, I have googled it more than once and not found anything useful, but it's a pretty generic search for a pretty specific product so I may just not have hit upon it yet. I was hoping someone in here had some experience.
At one time I thought it was due to the wanam xposed module, though I can't find any mention of it in there, because when I had xposed disabled temporarily, it wasn't happening. I disabled several wanam settings and actually thought I had found something that made it stop, but it started up again without me changing anything else in there. It could be a feature of some other system tweaking app but having looked through everything like that that I've installed, I have yet to find a setting or mention of it.
