Hello all,
I'm rooted and froze some bloat using TB, but now when I enable Ultra Power Saving or Power Saving mode, the phone reboots every couple of minutes until I turn Power Saving mode off.
Anyone else seen this problem? I don't recall freezing anything directly related to this. I used one of the freeze/uninstall lists that was posted a while back.
Any help is appreciated! Thanks!
I'm having the exact same issue :/ does someone know anything about it?

I read somewhere that freezing the stock keyboard can cause reboots in ultra power saving mode.
If you're just using regular power saving mode then I have no clue... Have you tried a factory reset?
This thread is from the sprint note 4 forum where they are discussing this:

OP, are you using Wanam and/or DVFS disabler of any kind? Possible connection there on the Sprint thread, although not confirmed. I'm having the same issue as you btw (with power saving mode, not ultra power saving mode). I do have wanam, and dvfs is currently disabled there...

i found out what was causing it. Its the xposed modules uninstall all of them. and disable xposed. i never had reboots after that.

It's actually not all of the xposed modules...it's seems to be only modules that disable DVFS. In my case I had disabled DVFS through Wanam xposed, and as soon as I enabled DVFS (and rebooted, just to be sure), suddenly I could turn on Power Savings mode without gettings reboots. So you don't have to get rid of xposed or all your modules, just don't disable DVFS. Not sure if this is normal or a bug, but I posted a question about it in the Wanam thread and will report back here if I get any news.

Hi all,
I'm using stock rom XXLQE on my i9070 and switched to CoCore 6.8 since I was experiencing tremendous lags with official kernel.
Even though I've set WiFi to stay always on during sleep, I have noticed that it drops off after a while when Power Saving mode is enabled. Indeed, turning the screen back on will cause a reconnection to the wireless network. Is it the expected behaviour when power saving is enabled?
No.. are you using some battery saving app?

No, as far as I know; I haven't installed any. I thought that it could be related to the particular WiFi network but it's happening both at home and at work...

No. Check your settings again. If its on ON, it should not close.
I use also xxlqe with Harsh jelly v2.1. And cocore v7.6 Wi-Fi is always on. And i dont have this problem.

Something is wrong with your phone. This does not happen on my S Advance or even on my Note 2 !
I'll try to run for few days with PSM disabled and see if that happens again.
I suspect it won't but I need more time, I'll keep you posted in case.
By the way, is there an app that logs WiFi connections/disconnections? The simplest possible would fit...It can be useful for debugging purposes
I've extensively tested the phone, and it happened quite a few times that WiFi went off for long periods (around 30 mins): in fact, as soon as I unlocked the screen the connection promptly restarted. I could determine the downtime by some Whatsapp messages I received and their timestamp.
Disabling Power Saving Mode apparently solved the problem (i.e., I've never experienced any WiFi downtime).
My Moto X is rooted and had Xposed Framework. I've checked the logs in tasker nothing that mentions brightness there. In the Xposed Framework logs it mentions attempting to hook status bar layout. No sure how to figure out if it's related to my problem/which module might be apart of the issue. It seems to like to turn it off every 5 to 4 mins. It's getting really annoying to have to keep turning on night.
I'm going to try turning all the modules off and turning them back on 1 by 1. Any other suggestions?
Do you have any apps like batteryguru installed?

If you have Xposed i think you have Gravity box you should check that.
I apologize if this is in the wrong place.
I have several kiosk tablets that use Xposed to take away some features. One thing we discovered is, if you reboot the device, and continue to click the power button during the boot process, Xposed comes up as though the installation process has not completed. Going into Xposed/Framework and clicking Install/Update fixes the issue. The tablet is clearly not in Safe Mode, but Xposed is disabled.
Has anyone seen a similar issue and is there a way to stop this behavior?
This is intended behaviour in case there is a problem with Xposed or a module.

My modules are incredibly basic and gone through several levels of QA testing, so I am not concerned about one having an issue in the field. Is there a way to programmatically restart Xposed if I discover this situation?
Thanks again...
Background - switched from xposed to Edxposed to get Google Pay to work. It does now work but caused buggy side effects.
1. System soft reboots directly after a manual boot completed but is then okay usually if left to settle.
2. Screen says always on, will not respond to display settings options set to 'off' after 1 min. It will off by power key, just not auto off.
3. One xposed module does't work at all (Niwatori One Handed Mode). Xposed Edge and Gravity work fine so far.
I have 2 devices, an LG V20, LG G5 both on Oreo and both exhibiting exact same problems. 1 device uses Edexposed Manager, the other Edxposed Installer. Is installer now obsolete?
So the One handed Mode is the biggest problem. Is there a way to look under the hood to fix a non working module? If I could fix the other problems maybe I could find an alternative app for one handed mode.
Okay well "HiddenCore module" (xposed module) was causing the screen to stay on. As I said I just installed it cause I saw it thinking maybe it was necessary for Gpay. Turns out I uninstalled it, the screen will now auto off, and Gpay still works.
Only issue now is the soft reboot after boot completed. Not a huge deal, maybe it will be resolved in an edxposed update, although I am now using the latest Canary alpha, alas no change.

That thread is saying something about using a modified build of magisk. Did you try that and do you know where to get it?
edit: I'm using latest magisk 20 version.
The Edxposed Manager Canary release fixes this for me

I think Samsung have been messing about with the touch boost. You can see it when you touch the screen to scroll etc. They're trying to save battery etc.

Samsung Device Care (if that's still there) as well as other places in settings to toggle it.
In Device Care only choose the power setting; optimized is usually best. Toogle on only the fast (or super) charging option.
Disable/uninstall any other 3rd party power management like Greenify or carrier junkyard ones.
Go to Developer Options>standby apps
If power management is disabled all buckets will show as active. You will not be able to change this state there (it won't take; close that Developer options page and then open it again to check).
This may help or not. I'm running on Pie.
This was a huge pain even with Pie; troubleshooting Q and above is much harder than with Pie.
Simply disabling power management was only part of my solution. I then tracked down the apks that were still sucking up cpu cycles and battery life. Find the root cause(s) rather try to cure it with power management.
Try updating Samsung and Goggle apps especially system apks. See if this helps.
If not, do the opposite and go back to the factory load versions especially with the Google system apks.
Karma Firewall is very useful but on Q and above you lose it's logging feature which I use daily.
You can still lock down apps internet connection with it though. Google Play Services is a big offender on my device as are Android Services.
Obviously Google Play Services needs to have internet connection at times, so I toggle it on as needed ie mostly Gmail, Gmaps and Playstore.
Turning on "enhanced processing" makes the phone like it was before the update. Samsung have been messing about trying to save battery on "normal" mode.
