[Q] Exchange Security Bypass on the S5 - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S 5

Hello,
I searched the APP MOD thread but did not find any posts related to the S5.
Has anyone gotten this modification to work on the rooted S5?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1749921
Thanks.

I use an Xposed Module called Exchange Bypass

I always used those mods but recently switched to an app called nine that lets you allow the server to enforce security at the app level rather than system level. i.e no lock

Additional apps to Ultra Power Saving mode

I was curious if anybody has figured out how to add additional apps to the ultra power saving mode? I would probably use it quite a bit if I could access gmail. It seems pretty ridiculous that Facebook is on the list and gmail isn't.

I agree. I want the Google play music app added and the emails of choice. I use exchange for work.

There is already an apk posted on the international S5: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=52662294
You guys should be looking at the TMO and international forums, there is a lot of stuff that works on the AT&T S5 from those forums.

Thanks! I hadn't even thought about looking at the other S5 forums.

[Q] Tasker with Nexus 6

Wondered if anyone else has problems getting some of the tasked stuff to work with lolipop. I personally can't get secure settings plugin to work now with the pattern lock disable and re enable. any ideas?
Same issue. It'll "fix" itself to the correct seeing after a reboot. Haven't worked on it to figure out why though.

Found this... Hasn't helped me yet but perhaps it'll work for you?

I appreciate it but I think I will wait on a legit fix from the devs. I guess that's the price you pay when you have the newest of the new.

No worries. It seems like the device admin isn't sticking (as mentioned in one of the links) When I toggle it then it toggles the pin. Until it's officially fixed I've resorted to using location trusted places (hope they do a Wi-Fi trusted location soon).

I actually removed some of the deeper system level tasks I've been using with securesettings in the past on my N6. I assumed many of them wouldn't work with the new OS and didn't feel like mucking around with them. If possible, the devs will figure it out eventually.
Thread revival!
Hey guys, I'm looking into buying a Nexus 6 and I was wondering if all of the tasker problems have been resolved by now?

I've not had any tasker issues at all, and I am very profile heavy.

Awesome. Thanks for the quick reply!
Anybody know why Tasker can't turn on WIFI tether through either the system or secure settings? I've tried this now on three different ROMs.
So I found a workaround---- visit the Tasker Groups at this post here.

App to control app permission

Hey team,
Can someone point me to a good thread, I've found 3,4 threads but looking for a good app, or an app where I can control what permissions apps get AND if there is an app that logs all the actions of your apps. I have the amex app and I sure as hell dont know why it needs certain permissions and I am curious to know when the app accesses my phonebook or so forth
Hope I made sense....
Thanks alot as usual.

Install Xposed, there are some modules to alleviate this issue.

You need this. It will work great for you. It does need root. It's what I've been using since Nexus 5.
The Name of the App is Apps Ops

+1 to this. App ops works great and is super lightweight.
I would stay away from using xposed as it causes external problems and it's better to just stick to lightweight alternatives.

Xposed framework

Since root is available has anyone tried xposed settings yet?
Bump!!
I need this also.
Is this the only way to activate wifi hotspot?
I really need to remove att's restriction on hotspot!

I'm on ATT and have no hot-spot restriction? Are you on an old plan? I thought att allowed hotspots up to your monthly data limit now...
It's a work account. I had an htc one before that was also blocked but I was able to go around it with viper rom. With this one is locked.
See picture
Doesn't work...
Just FYI, Xposed Framework does not yet work on any LOLLIPOP Samsung Touchwiz roms. It does work on other versions of lollipop though.

Disappointing, but thanks for the heads up. I just rooted and really wanted to remove some lockscreen ongoing notifications.

There's a pre alpha version of xposed our phones available right now, it'll be out soon enough.

Stock Phone App - Display only contacts with Numbers - Possible to run the old app?

Hello all,
Back in KitKat (I think), google's default app for phone/contacts had the option to only display contacts with numbers. (great idea!)
For reasons beyond anything I can imagine, they stupidly removed this feature. (Horribly stupid idea...sigh)
Is it possible to run the older phone app/contacts app on newer roms? 7.0?
I like the stock app. Fantastic app, excepting for the horrible stupid decision to break needed functionality by Google.
Thoughts? Options? Ideas?
Thanks!
Just a thought you could find the apk from KitKat and then install that. If it works. Use something like titanium backup and long press on the app from within TB and select remove market link. This should prevent the app from auto updating. Haven't tried it but i agree. The contact with phone numbers only was great.

Thanks for the direction. I'm a technical user, so I can chase this down. Why would they remove it?

Completely agree. It was silly to remove that ...
