[Q}Need to go back to stock. - Sprint HTC One (M7)

I bought an HTC One from a friend of a friend and everything worked fine the first day then today it started rebooting randomly. I would like to take it back to complete stock firmware. It is currently s-on with the 1.55 hboot and bootloader is unlocked. I need someone to explain what exactly I need to do to get back to stock. I saw an RUU but it said I must be on hboot 1.56 and I have no idea how to do that.
Thanks in advance.

Was it rooted? If it was, did it have SuperSU installed?

Yeah it's rooted and I have SuperSU.

I *Think* that RUU 3.04.651.2 will work on 1.55 as 4.xx is for 1.56 Hboot, however I am fairly new to M7 Inner workings - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2508907
So proceed with caution.
Props to BD619 for a great tutorial

Thank you, can anyone confirm that this 3.04.651.2 RUU will work for me?

Don't know if you're still interested in doing this, but flash http://download.chainfire.eu/450/SuperSU/UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.00.zip in recovery and it might fix your rebooting problem.

Thanks, I went ahead and went back to bone stock though. I am fatigued when it comes to customizing my phone's. I even kept my Nexus 5 stock after about a month.

HBOOT question

So I had an issue with a HTC One, but I got a replacement! I turned S-OFF, flashed the shipped ROM, locked the bootloader and turned S-ON.
Worked perfectly and looks like new!
Anyhow, during this, I found out that revone doesn't work with newer HBOOT versions.
I have a new HTC One and it has the compatible version of HBOOT so I am in luck.
I want to flash custom ROM's such as ARHD but I don't want to update the hboot.
Does a newer version of HBOOT come with ARHD, or is that something only OTA updates include? Does ARHD stick with older HBOOT?
If it does update hboot,
If I turn S-OFF right away, will I be protected in-case a new HBOOT comes through? Will I be able to flash an older HBOOT version in case I need to turn S-ON?
Is it safe to turn S-OFF right now, and just leave it off, just in the case if my hboot gets updated or something - I can always revert to an older version.
I would also like to say thank you for all of your posts! I am an old time iPhone user for 5 years and I'm glad I switched to Android. There is just so much more you can do.
Your posts really help, contributors! It helped me return my device to new status, without 'relocked' and 'tampered' flags in the bootloader!
So thumbs up to XDA! :good:

I have never update the hboot when using ARHD, I just gave it a flash.
As to updating via ota, the only thing close to that for me is when I did a gpe conversion to hboot 1.54 but I could go back.

It is just in the case that I need to do this replacement all over again. I don't want to update to another HBOOT accidentally through a ROM, and then find out I can't get S-OFF/S-ON and I'm stuck lol.
I can't get my words out too clear tonight! I'm not really sure as of why.
If I have S-OFF, and my HBOOT updates somehow, can I go back and flash another HBOOT?
Then another thought comes, I don't want to turn S-OFF because the thread says may not work with all ROM's, which is why I asked if ARHD will update my HBOOT.
Also, thanks for your AIO toolkit! I was looking for it earlier today. I used it when I bought my phone and worked great! Thanks for that!

If you want to go back to S-ON you should use an ruu to go back to stock then use the S-ON command.
I'm sure you can downgrade back to hboot 1.44 but some say you can't, but it worked for the Google edition conversion and I returned to 1.44.
I'm glad the toolkit worked for you!

Ah okay, I didn't think about that!
So an RUU will also downgrade hboot?
I don't want to be stuck with a junk hboot that is locked down.
It is going to work for me again, when I unlock this new phone!
It's safe to go S-Off now and leave it off. hboot updates won't cause S-On
ARHD won't update your hboot.
If your hboot is updated, you must be already S-Off to downgrade.
You are on 1.44 right now. If you go s-off now, you will remain s-off even after accepting OTAs, and you can downgrade your hboot whenever you feel like. On the other hand, if you are s-on right now, and accept an OTA, you'll be upgraded to the locked down 1.54, on which you can't get s-off, nor can you downgrade.. What I suggest is going s-off right now, and doing whatever flashing you want to do.. Beware, with s-off, you can permanently brick(hard brick) your phone. If you ever want to go back to s-on, flash an RUU of ONLY 4.1.2. All roms work with s-off, so no need to worry

[Q] Help! Need to get back to ATT stock.

Hello all, I am sort of in a predicament.
First of all, I have an ATT Htc One that had 1.44 Hboot and unlocked, rooted, running Android Revolution HD 22.0 just fine.
On the rom the thread Mike said it was recommended to update firmware, so I did just that.
I headed over to his thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2182823 found the corresponding firmware zip for my device
CWS 001 PN0712000 and flashed it. The firmware being 3.06.1700.10 and now my hboot is 1.54
I am aware that no RUU's will run with 1.54 but is there anyway I can revert back to stock without running a RUU?
Maybe flashing stock rom and stock recovery, relocking and wait for the upcoming OTA due for the ATT htc one?
I would very appreciative for the help.
And I know I should've been more knowing before flashing firmwares, so go on and burn me as much as youd like but id still like some help.
I just assumed since the rom developer insisted it was for the better that there would be a way out of it, which is my bad.
thank you

[Q] 4.3 Sprint RUU

Hi, I was wondering if there was going to be an RUU for 4.03.651.2 firmware. I tried to take the update with an outdated version of TWRP, and I would like to go back to stock and reroot. I have tried and failed to gain S-Off with Revone and moonshine. I am unsure of what to do. My phone is not recognized by ADB in recovery, so I cannot use the S-Off workaround to flash an old RUU. Any suggestions/responses are appreciated.
Thanks,
Vobeyo

Hmm... I just assumed that there wouldn't be an RUU for 1.31. Do you know of any way to gain S-Off so that I can flash the 1.29 RUU?
RUU
This can be very frustrating, I know.
I used Moonshine to achieve S-OFF, yesterday. Reason was because I managed to delete almost everything, I still don't know exactly what happened. However, if I remember correctly, you need S-On in order to run a stock RUU. There are several threads that pretty much will walk you thru the steps needed to flash the RUU. I was on them yesterday.
Good luck.

You don't need S-Off or S-On to run the RUU, but the bootloader has to be locked (or relocked). Believe that I read that HTC was going to not release RUUs any more because they didn't want others to tear them apart, etc. But don't quote me on that one...
From my understanding, S-Off is required to flash an RUU for a firmware version that does not match the version you are currently on. Could you please refer me to one of these threads? I would appreciate it very much.

I've also heard the same however how can I gain S-Off without mounting the internal storage? Or ADB? I can't get either to work.

I believe that if you have a custom recovery installed, you can use the workaround by accessing the terminal from the recovery, type the command, and then lock the bootloader. I am not completely sure on that, though.
If your on 4.3 there is no RUU and no s-off exploit at this time. This is why it's always recommended to root/s-off before you update.

If you updated your phone to latest sprint 4.3 that's it you cannot instal RUU any more
s-on s-off not gonna help you
you can download naked drivers for htc one http://dl.xda-developers.com/attachd...river_0.72.zip but first delate/uninstal all htc/syn drivers
and jus push any 4.3 rooted rom to your phone and install g-luck
Don't know if this will help you or not, just stumbled across it a couple of minutes ago.

Recently I was working on returning my phone back to stock and I ended up using OMJ's encrypted 1.29.651.7 (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2250904). However, in order to flash an older ruu successfully I also had to trick the phone into believing that an older version was installed. I did it using dd through adb, but I can't find the thread with the info so I'll try to find that.
ok, so here's what I did:
first, I downloaded the encrypted 1.29.651.7 ruu
then, I used this trick to change the version recorded in the phone (I think I had to be root, but I don't remember) http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2390821
I substituted 1.29.651.7 for the 1.29.651.10 shown in the link
then I relocked the bootloader and flashed the ruu according to the return to stock instructions.
Hopefully this helps you work it out, I'm not sure how much this will help you but it worked for me.

I don't know if you can flash OMJ's firmware if your bootloader is set to "Relocked". I could be wrong but I think what you need to do is unlock it again first and install a recovery. Then flash OMJ's stock firmware from recovery. From there you can probably do the S-OFF process and RUU back to stock.
You do need to be able to boot into your ROM for S-OFF to work, as you start the S-OFF process while the phone is booted up and running.

Problem trying to flash Android Revolution

Hey there
I am trying to flash Android Revolution 51.0 (found at the top of the list here http://android-revolution-hd.blogspot.co.uk/p/android-revolution-hd-mirror-site-var.html) but am experienceing a problem.
When I start to flash (via CWM) it the freezes on a screen that says "press next to continue the installation". The button just doesn't press and I have to hard reboot. When the phone boots up it's just back to 4.2.2
Any ideas on where I'm going wrong?
Thanks

Nope, S-On. I cleared the cache by a command prompt in windows and managed to get into recovery and load a nandroid in CWM. So I'm back to where I started before trying to flash Revolution.
I just want to update to the lastest version of Android available for my model. I'd love to unroot and return to stock but so far I have not been able to follow the guides I have found as they require S-OFF. Thank you.
I don't really want to install Revolution if I can avoid it. Can I just S-Off with Rimrunner without first installing arhd 31.?

If you have a working rom yes. I was suggesting arhd 31.6 because everything is already included in the rom tp successfuly s-off (rooted + unsecured kernel)

Thank you.
The whole Rumrunner thing just seems so complicated. I just don't trust myself to get it right.

btw there is no RUU for your version. So if you want to go back to stock you'll need to do it from a Nandroid backup. Rumrunner shouldn't be hard to use if you follow the guide step by step. However if you feel you can't do it atm, just don't mess with your phone and take the time to read all you will need to know before.

I think the lack of RUU is what stopped me dgoing ahead when I looked into this before.
When you say to do it from a Nandroid back up, where would I get this from? A previous one on my phone? Sorry for the stupid questions!

That's great. Thank you.
At what point of the Rumrunner process do I use this?
I massively appreciate the help.

you don't have to use it to s-off, it sonly a backup in case you must go back to stock. S-off is required if you want to flash arhd 51 or if you want to complete go back to stock (remove bootloader tempered flag and set to LOCKED instead of RELOCKED)

Oh man, I'm really confused. I should have definitely looked into all this more before rooting. Ha.
Is arhd 31.6 Kitkat? I can't find a link.
EDIT: Found one, it's Jelly Bean. Is there anyway I can update to KitKat? arhd 51.0 didn't work as previously mentioned.

yes arhd 51 didn worked because you need s-off and your best chance to s-off is tu use arhd 31.6 first

Thank you.
Nothing has made me feel this dim-witted in a long time!
Thanks for all the help, enormously appreciated.
OK. I have flashed 31.6, used Rumrunner to gain S-Off and removed the Tampered flag.
I would now love to unroot, re-lock and go back to stock. I know I have to use the nandroid file Alray linked me to earlier in this thread but I'm not certain on the process. Please could someone help me out?
Thanks
wtf... this exercise was for what ?? how about you look around a few threads how to go back to stock..

Thanks for the reply. The excercise is so that I can return to stock. I've looked round loads of threads and (as I have previously confessed) have been left a bit stumped. That's why I have very politely asked if someone could help me out.
Thanks.

Hey there
I am trying to flash Android Revolution 51.0 (found at the top of the list here http://android-revolution-hd.blogspot.co.uk/p/android-revolution-hd-mirror-site-var.html) but am experienceing a problem.
When I start to flash (via CWM) it the freezes on a screen that says "press next to continue the installation". The button just doesn't press and I have to hard reboot. When the phone boots up it's just back to 4.2.2
Any ideas on where I'm going wrong?
Thanks

Man, i don't know why this guys made you s-off and everything.
You don't need S-off to install ARHD. The only thing you was doing wrong was using CWM. To install 4.2.2 android rom you need TWRP 2.6.3.3 or higher.
