Problem trying to flash Android Revolution - One (M7) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey there
I am trying to flash Android Revolution 51.0 (found at the top of the list here http://android-revolution-hd.blogspot.co.uk/p/android-revolution-hd-mirror-site-var.html) but am experienceing a problem.
When I start to flash (via CWM) it the freezes on a screen that says "press next to continue the installation". The button just doesn't press and I have to hard reboot. When the phone boots up it's just back to 4.2.2
Any ideas on where I'm going wrong?
Thanks

Nope, S-On. I cleared the cache by a command prompt in windows and managed to get into recovery and load a nandroid in CWM. So I'm back to where I started before trying to flash Revolution.
I just want to update to the lastest version of Android available for my model. I'd love to unroot and return to stock but so far I have not been able to follow the guides I have found as they require S-OFF. If someone can show me a way to return to stock I will bow down and hail you as the all knowing Android God that you are!
I'm in the UK and on O2.
My HBOOT Screen reads:

Both options will require s-off. You should flash arhd 31.6 then s-off with rumrunner. After either flash arhd 51 or go back to stock

I don't really want to install Revolution if I can avoid it. Can I just S-Off with Rimrunner without first installing arhd 31.?

If you have a working rom yes. I was suggesting arhd 31.6 because everything is already included in the rom tp successfuly s-off (rooted + unsecured kernel)

btw there is no RUU for your version. So if you want to go back to stock you'll need to do it from a Nandroid backup. Rumrunner shouldn't be hard to use if you follow the guide step by step. However if you feel you can't do it atm, just don't mess with your phone and take the time to read all you will need to know before.

I think the lack of RUU is what stopped me dgoing ahead when I looked into this before.
When you say to do it from a Nandroid back up, where would I get this from? A previous one on my phone? Sorry for the stupid questions!

you don't have to use it to s-off, it sonly a backup in case you must go back to stock. S-off is required if you want to flash arhd 51 or if you want to complete go back to stock (remove bootloader tempered flag and set to LOCKED instead of RELOCKED)

Oh man, I'm really confused. I should have definitely looked into all this more before rooting. Ha.
Is arhd 31.6 Kitkat? I can't find a link.
EDIT: Found one, it's Jelly Bean. Is there anyway I can update to KitKat? arhd 51.0 didn't work as previously mentioned.

yes arhd 51 didn worked because you need s-off and your best chance to s-off is tu use arhd 31.6 first

Thanks for all the help, enormously appreciated.

OK. I have flashed 31.6, used Rumrunner to gain S-Off and removed the Tampered flag.
I would now love to unroot, re-lock and go back to stock. I know I have to use the nandroid file Alray linked me to earlier in this thread but I'm not certain on the process. Please could someone help me out?
Thanks

Thanks for the reply. The excercise is so that I can return to stock. I've looked round loads of threads and (as I have previously confessed) have been left a bit stumped. That's why I have very politely asked if someone could help me out.

Man, i don't know why this guys made you s-off and everything.
You don't need S-off to install ARHD. The only thing you was doing wrong was using CWM. To install 4.2.2 android rom you need TWRP 2.6.3.3 or higher.

[SOLVED] Achieve S-OFF with 4.3 GPe Rom

Not first time flasher, I installed a stock GPe 4.3 rom on my One and now I want to fully convert it. Right now, the device is:
- CID = TELUS001 (Telus in Canada)
- Bootloader: Unlocked
- HBoot: 1.44
- S-ON
My attempt to achieve S-OFF with Revone, in order to proceed to the first steps of the conversion, was unsuccessful because of my 4.3 rom. My question is about my next move. As I am unable to recover a non corrupted Telus RUU, I was wondering which option would best suit my needs:
1. I flash any 4.2 rom and then achieve S-OFF using Revone.
2. I get it back to stock using the Easy Stock Reset tool. Although I guess it won't work because of my CID but I probably miss something here.
3. Anything else.
I would like to have an advice/thought/coment on that.
Thanks

I am simply having a hard time trying to find a 4.1.2 Sense 5 rom since everyone seems up to date, which I understand is the best thing in the World but just inconvienient for me right now. So if you would have to chose that kinda rom, what would be your pick ?

Hi guys, you are on
1- hboot 1.44 (and check the date in bootloader screen to make sure it's before June 2013)
2- your firmware is 1.xx
3- you want to use revone to get s-off
if yes to above, send me a PM with title "Request for 4.1.2 ROM for revone", and I'll reply to it when I can.

At first, my english is not so good and i'm a noob with computers...sorry!
I will try to explain as good as i can what my situation is about,
I have a HTC One and have to go back to stock for warranty.
The problem is that i really don't know what to do because i bought the Phone that was allready root and the firmware Android Revolution HD.
here are some screenshots in my dropbox, but can't find the main firmware in fastboot because the field is empty
EDIT: can't upload screens because i am new here
What else can i do, there are many, many ways and they are all different, don't know what to choose or do.
I am searching last 2 weeks every day at least 4 hours but till now i didn't do anything haha.
Can someone please help me with a step by step tutorial, and if you need more info, tell me what you want and how to do it.
Steven

But when i want to go back to s-on, it says that when i have the wrong stock rom my device will be bricked.
How do i know if it really is the same rom it was before rooting?
Or is it not a problem because everything works now fine, included ota update?

I bought an HTC One from a friend of a friend and everything worked fine the first day then today it started rebooting randomly. I would like to take it back to complete stock firmware. Don't know if you're still interested in doing this, but flash http://download.chainfire.eu/450/SuperSU/UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.00.zip in recovery and it might fix your rebooting problem.
Thanks, I went ahead and went back to bone stock though. I am fatigued when it comes to customizing my phone's. I even kept my Nexus 5 stock after about a month.

[Q] A bit of help please...

Currently I have an M7 UL on 4.4.2 with Sense 5.5. Its rooted and the bootloader is HTC Dev unlocked. I tried to S-OFF with firewater but I keep getting infinite lines so I gave up and I'm still S-ON
I'm not really bothered about the S-OFF anymore but would like to remove the ***TAMPERED*** bit thats there.
Also I have a few questions:
1) As I didn't try to do anything else my phone should be fine, right?
2) I want to install the ElementalX Kernel, Is it possible with S-OFF?
3) Can I still update using OTA's?
4) What are the methods to revert completely to stock with no root or unlock?
Since I'm new I hope you can help me with these questions. Thanks.

Thanks for the reply. How do I go S-OFF then?
ss4adib said:
Thanks.

Try Rumrunner. Also try Firewater again make sure you follow directions. Rumrunner worked for me.

It's 1.56
try different roms and different kernals to get s-off, some people get it on stock, others don't, some have reported first try, other say they had to flash 10 different rom and kernel combinations.
Myself, I did it in one swift move by java card which I had to pay for.

You can't boot custom software while your relocked. Can you link the RUU you used please.

Flash TWRP 2.6.3.3 then use it to install this rom https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=23501681358545524
In the Aroma installer choose options
Stock Recovery = Yes
Stock Radio = Yes
Root = No
When its done reboot the phone. you should be back to stock. Also OTA updates should work

It will install stock with root if you install an OTA you will have to reroot afterwards.
Obviously if you select no to stock recovery you'll stay with TWRP but OTA installs will fail.
One last thing if you ever thought about going s-off do it before you use any OTA updates.
With hboot 1.56 and stock Rom you can s-off with rumrunner for free. If you update to hboot 1.57 the only method is Sunshine and it costs $25 :good:

You need s-off to go back to 100% stock. What was the error rumrunner gave.
It may be some time before I reply, I'm about to sit down to a meal

About the stock recovery, it's normal for it to go to a black screen. After a while it should display an image of a phone with red exclimation. That's normal too.
At this point hold volume up and press the power button to see the recovery menu. Ignore the errors about mount sd card that's also normal

It's totally up to you it depends how you feel about it. If the device still has warranty you will need s-off should you ever want to claim on it. It's also the reason I pointed you to the Stock reset rom rather than the RUU. Because the latest available RUU for your device has a lower firmware version than currently on the device. So you need s-off to use it.
But if your not that bothered then just go ahead and keep the device s-on. It just means that if you update the device and then later need s-off for some reason your only way will be Sunshine which you have to pay for. So i preffer to make people aware of it. But its totally up to you :good:
