Q-My phone is dead - Sony Xperia ZR

after unlock boot loader and root and instal boot.img phone doesn't open only vibration and dead
please please help my phone is dead and he is new for me
sorry for my lang

first your image is pretty low res that I can't see anything! but as far I saw everything get okey!
then just flash another boot.img. go to fastboot again flash another boot.img.
also be sure that you are flashing a really boot.img!! (which should be in elf format)
if you're willing to flash stock you can flash with flashtool and bring back your phone.
ALSO YOU MUST FLASH YOUR PHONE KERNEL not others this is pretty important.

Getting back to stock
Download and install Flashtool by Androxyde. Remember to get 32 bit/64 bit version depending on your computer.
Download any stock firmware, preferably for your area/country and unmodified. Make sure it is the full firmware! It should be at least ~200 MB, but will probably be much larger if I remember correctly, maybe ~700 MB, though it maybe compressed inside a ZIP. You can get stock FW's on the forums, just look around. It should be in .ftf format.
Copy the .ftf file to "firmwares" folder, which is inside the Flashtool install folder. By default, this is C:\Flashtool.
Start Flashtool and keep it open. For 64 bit, you have to specifically choose the "Flashtool64" program.
Plug your USB cable into your computer, but not your phone.
Hold down the volume down key and plug the USB cable into your phone.
In Flashtool, look at the output window (the white space with all the log info) and one of the last entries should be "Device connected in flashmode" or something like that. If it says fastboot, repeat the process with the other volume key held down.
It may ask you to choose your device first. If so, choose Xperia ZR (obviously).
Click the button with lightning symbol on it. Select Flashmode and click OK.
You should see the file you downloaded in the list. Select it.
Make sure all the boxes in the "Wipe" section are checked, and all the boxes in the "Exclude" section are unchecked. DO NOT CHANGE ANY OTHER OPTIONS UNLESS YOU KNOW WHAT YOU ARE DOING!!!
Click "Flash". Wait for it to complete and hope that no errors come up. :fingers-crossed:
You should now have an out-of-the-box phone, software-wise. :good:

Hi, i cant do that.. My flashtool give me a error:
16/021/2014 11:21:40 - ERROR - Drivers need to be installed for connected device.
16/021/2014 11:21:40 - ERROR - You can find them in the drivers folder of Flashtool.
I installed all it drivers, and nothing. It could be the Pc? or Firm? I need help pls.. Thx

Are you running Windows 8? If so, you need to disable the driver protection. Follow the steps mentioned here.
He says something about installing with "have disk." I have no idea what this means, as I used a different method that I don't remember right now. After you boot in test mode as instructed, simply running the installer as you did before should work. Also, there's no need to install all the drivers. I don't know for sure, but it may be bad to have all the drivers installed. Maybe. In any case, you only need to install the "Common ADB drivers for Lagan, Fusion3 board devices based on APQ8064 chipset: Xperia Z, ZL, ZR, ZQ, A, UL, Tablet Z." It should be there in the driver install menu. If that doesn't work, install all of them.
If this doesn't work, or you're not on Windows 8, then download the latest FlashTool driver pack here. Actually, you should do that anyway, before everything else. Best to have the latest drivers when experimenting. The latest version is v1.5, at the time of writing. If yours is v1.5, leave it be.
If that doesn't work, then... Nope, I got nothing. If none of this works, ask an experienced dev for help, or give it to Sony service. They'll probably charge you quite a bit, so be prepared for that.
Hope this helps.

[Solved]Few problems with Windows 8

First one is: Can't drag and drop ftf file's in Flashtool.
Seccond can't get the phone in flashmode/Fastboot mode.
Light flashing bleu, but no reaction.
On windows 7 all was fine.
I hoop somebody knows the anwsers.
Re: Few problems with Windows 8
Please search before posting. The driver issues with Windows eight had many threads about it. It's a Windows problem not a phone problem. You need to install the drivers via safe mode on your pc
Sent from my LT30p xda premium app.
How do I customise the signature on xda premium app?
With Windows 8 to install the drivers you must search for "Advanced Startup" (Or you can keep down shift and then press reboot), then I think you go to "Advanced Options" then "Windows Start up Options"
Once you have done this your PC will reboot, select "Disable driver signature enforcement"
Then Installing drivers should work (It did for me)
I might have missed some stuff out, I did this from memory, I now have Ubuntu.
Windows 8 drivers are working now so thank you both for that.
But still can't drag and drop ftf files in flashtool.
And can't find the answer onxda.

Are you trying to drop a FTF file or .zip file? Flashtool wont work with a .zip only ftf. If the ftf is in a .zip you need to extract it first.
secondly,
You can attach the phone to the PC via usb cable and get access to the sd card via windows explorer, you can just copy it over that way if its a .zip to be flashed in recovery
In flashtool only ftf file's afcorse.
But i realy can't get in the sd cart via windows.
Becouse the phone wil not boot.
I only see a grey triangle.
I can't get it to work.

OK, thats normal, just leave the phone plugged in, I had to leave mine for quite a while. It will boot eventually
And you do not have to just drag and drop the ftf file, you can always browse for it.
Click on the flash button, click flashmode then naviagte to the folder where you have the ftf using the dialogue box that opens up.
Ok flashtool is working when i brows for it.
Now i did relock te bootloader, so i can repair it with pc companion.
But now it stil wont boot and the phone is not reconised bij windows or Pc companion.
Stil grey triangle.
I realy dont know how i can fix this.
How long must i wait?
Re: Few problems with Windows 8
Press power & volume up until the device vibrates 3 times (without any cable attached) start up SUS (Sony update service(download of you don't have it )) and follow on screen instructions, or use flashtool to flash a stock ftf.

Flashed AOKP 4.4 on Xperia V - Won't boot PLEASE HELP

Okay,
This is my friends phone and since i've done it i feel responsible, whatever.
The story goes, the xperia was on stock 4.2.2 i believe and we decided to flash 4.4 on it. So we downloaded the zip etc.
Now i've done the research and i think we shouldve first installed 4.3 then 4.4,i also think we shouldve flashed the kernel via flashtool first.
Anyway, now when i boot it vibrates and only shows the sony logo. I cant get into recovery.
We did manage to get into download mode with flashtool. But it disconnects (Do i need fastboot drivers, adb?)
Your input would be very appreciated!
Thanks in advance
You can hopefully use Flashtool to flash an appropriate stock FTF file to get the phone back to normal working order. There is a thread in here somewhere that links the latest version of Flashtool.
After you install Flashtool, you will need to go into its folder - inside of there is a "drivers" folder. Go in there and run the EXE. On the left side, make sure to click/check the driver for your phone (xperia V? or T or TL or LT30p or whatever), plus the Fastboot driver, plus the Flashmode driver. Let it do the install. **NOTE** Win8.1 will not allow these drivers to install. At all. Win8 will allow but you must disable Driver Signature Enforcement first. I dont know if Win7 has "driver signature enforcement" - if you notice the drivers are failing to install, that could be why. Look into how to temporarily disable driver signature enforcement and try these 3 drivers again.
Wow thank you so much! I've tried all of the above but on windows 8.1 laptop. But I got ahold of a windows 7 one and it did the job perfectly. Thanks!

[Q] Help needed urgently

Hi all,
Not really sure where to post this, so firgured id put it under general questions. I am currently trying to flash android 4.2 to an Xperia Z1 thats currently running 4.4.4 kitkat. - Now feel i should mention at the start, that i am not particually brilliant with android, and am slowly learning the basics.
I am using a program called Flashtool, I have the file that I want to flash over (the 4.2) - I have also gone through the program to install all the drivers. ( I have installed all drivers as i didnt know what i needed and didnt need, and initially tried just installing the z1 drivers ) Flashtool picks up my phone, and tells me what its currently running, it also detects that what version of android i am currently running, but for some reason dosent pick up that ive tried to plug in my phone in flash mode.
The system detects when I start the phone in fastboot mode, but whenever I use Flashtools to try and connect my phone in flash mode, it just keeps asking me to connect the phone. ( I am using Z1 and the standard key is vol down whilst plugging it into the usb cable, however the l.e.d. flashes red and green quickly and then shuts off, cant even be sure that the problem is Flashtools, it might be that i havent put it into flashmode properly??)
any help would be brillant, feel free to contact me via the xda site, or via e-mail [email protected] -
This might be a particularly basic problem to somebody, its had me stumped for days, any help you could give would be massively appreciated,
cheers
Try Older version of flashtool or you are missing some drivers in flashtool folder is file with drivers and you need to check flashtool drivers and z1 drivers and firstly connect the phone and wait to install drivers and next turn off phone and hold vol down and connect without flashtool to install flashtmode drivers and at the end try to flash via flashtool.
If you are sure you have installed drivers correctly then kill any other process on your pc which use adb drivers like pc companion or airdroid etc. Or use other usb port. Or use other pc. Wrong thread though.

[Guide] How to unlock the locked XT1700 firmwares.

Hi,
I recently got a hold of this phone when my G4 Play perished (it got ran over by a car lol). I had picked it up from my family and well, the stock ROM was a bit crap, so I decided I would unlock the phone. But, if you were like me and the phone came from TESCO UK, you may have an S303 firmware which is not unlockable.. But I found a way around it.
YOU WILL LOSE ALL OF YOUR DATA! I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY BROKEN PHONES OR DATA LOSS!
Requirements:
- A PC/Laptop/A system with USB ports running Windows 7+
- USB Cable
- Patience and a brain
Step one: Get all your files ready, and your phone.
Download this ROM from here (for the XT1700): https://firmware.center/firmware/Mo...la_Moto_E3_XT1700_MT6735M_S124_1608261802.zip
What is this you may ask?
This ROM is the S124 firmware which is for the 1700 and it contains everything stock, not modified by TESCO or the sort. It contains every partition including the Preloader, but we won't be flashing that.
Download the MTK VCOM Drivers: http://www.devfiles.co/download/0InO9P5m/MT65xx_USB_VCOM_DRIVERS.zip
Step two: Preparing your device
From here, after extracting everything, you want to have a USB cable to hand. Take your phone, and after powering it off, remove the battery and the SIM card. You now want to install the VCOM drivers, so now nothing will go wrong. After doing so, open the device manager in Windows. You should see something like this. (which will disappear after a couple of seconds)
Now, you want to launch the SP Flash tool inside of the software zip. You need to go on the download tab and make sure it is on "Download Only". Formatting will corrupt the NVRAM. From here, select the scatter file inside the Firmware folder. Make sure you select the MT6735_Android_scatter.txt, not the other two. Now, from the list of partitions, untick the preloader. Everything upwards is okay. Should look something like this if you've done everything correct.
Now, click the download button. Make sure everything is ready to go, and now insert your device. You will see the bottom bar go red for a second, connecting to the device, and then the flashing process will start. It will be a yellow bar. Do not disconnect your device until you see a green tick mark in the middle of the window! You'll see a green tick when it is done. You can now disconnect your device, and boot it up. It should work perfectly fine. First boot may take a while however.
I also found that OEM unlocking is already unticked, so you can shut down the ROM and go straight onto the unlocking process! I won't go into that because you can find a guide elsewhere.
Good luck and if you need any help, leave a comment and I'll help you out if I can.
Am I gonna develop for this phone? ...maybe I have something special in the works
thanks you been try to to this a few times and failed your guide helped me get it done
had to find windows 10 version MTK VCOM
had to search for SP Flash tool as i couldnt find sofware.zip
and boot into recovery mode to get flash to start

Swap firmware region

Hi Guys,
I currently have an Hong kongese version of our beloved xz1 compact but unfortunately the updates are painfully slow and i would like to change firmware with the tools posted on this forum.
I would like to change into a German one which seems to be one of the very first to receive updates.
I have a concern and a pair of questions for ya'll :
1. If i change the firmware to a region that far and different from the one i have already, will i have different data signal and possibly lower or much lower?
I ask this because i previously had the X compact and i tried to do the same and my signal was no where as consistent and full as with the original Firmware.
2. Is there a way to change to another firmware but maintain the modem settings or files or whatever to have the same signal strenght of the original Firmware ?
thanks fellas and i apologise for mistakes since Eng isn't my native language. I come from Pizza Land
[OT] I'm sorry I can't answer your question, but I have to say that your written English is better than that of most of my fellow Americans!
You should be able to flash almost any firmware version, I don't think there are different modem drivers for each region any more. I have tried several regions of firmware here in the UK and none have effected signal reception or strength.
You will need ADB drivers for the phone and beware if you've used your laptop/workstation for another model of phone as sometime this can interfere.
Start with Xperiafirm and download the most recent firmware build, which as I type is UK customised.
Download newflasher and unpack it into the same folder as the firmware.
Delete userdataXXX.sin
Turn off phone, plug it in, start newflasher, type 'n' to the first two questions.
This should get you the latest build phone with your data intact

From my past experience, the Customized NOBA region is usually among the first wave (if not the first) to receive new firmware. If you're betting on consistent bleeding edge updates, I'd go all in with NOBA.

This is the most complete answer I could ever receive.
Unfortunately , I have had another problem.
I downloaded the ADB Drivers but I can't install them.
When the phone is on (I activated USB debugging as well) I can get ADB to work on my Computer.
I run the CMD Shell and input "adb devices" and the smartphone is recognised automatically, however when I switch off the xz1c and press volume down and plug it to the PC to activate the "FLASH MODE", the phone isn't recognised at all.
I went to "Device Manager" and saw "Android" with a yellow exclamation point next to it so I clicked and selected Update Drivers.
I chose the folder where I unzipped the one you asked me to download and selected the subfolders.
Once proceeded, I got a negative response from Windows saying that" Windows could not find the drivers for your device".
So I am stuck here and I can't use newflasher at all.

You could download and install flashtool. Although you cannot use flashtool to flash your XZ1c, once it's installed there is a 'Drivers' folder in it, inside that is a very handy .exe that installs all the drivers you need for flashing and ADB.
Otherwise a quick search found this
Edit: I don't think you have to hold the volume down to use newflasher. All I did was turn the phone off, plug it in, start newflasher.

If you are using Windows 10 then the drivers won't have installed properly.
You need to hold 'shift' while restarting the machine. Then when it starts in safe mode, look for 'disable driver signatures' or something like that, in the advanced menu.
Then try installing the drivers again.

If you open device manager on the PC and then open up USB devices, you should see the phone listed, with a warning.
Update the drivers in the USB section with the ones you downloaded from Sony, just point to the unpacked folder, you don't need to open any of the folders, it should work with the sa0117adb.inf file.
This is while your phone is turned off and connected, not turned on.

I read the guide but these steps are exactly the ones I followed already.
I'm very unlucky.
Probably something I did in the past or my OS doesn't allow me to do what I wanna do.
I try the last option with my wife's laptop with Windows 7.
If it doesn't work, I'll wait for the update to come naturally which will probably take some months [emoji854]
